Ryde
(2017)

A pleasant surprise
I went into this movie with reserved expectation, because I hadn't seen any previous work of this director and the actors were unknown to me. I was surprised by the top quality of their performance and the movie was interesting enough to make me wanting for more. The cinematography, editing, sound are all excellent significantly boosting the value of such a small budget movie. Ryde is new ride share service app on the market and the movie is about a guy with sinister intentions, who hijacked someone elses car and pretends to be a highly reputable rYder. I don't wanna give away too much, but I would gladly recommend this movie to audience.

Bottom of the World
(2017)

Requires some work to figure it all out but worth it...
This movie is artistic, confusing, and trippy. If you like strange/complex it is a most creative film. It might be confusing at some parts but that just made it better. Movies today don't put responsibility on the viewer to figure out what is going on and this film does that. Not only that but the Scarlett character is amazing and devastating all at once. Acting is done very well, Jena Malone was great in her role of Scarlet and Ted Levine did a decent job with his character too. Direction is top notch and I will definitely check other movies done by this director. Overall this movie was a joy ride for me and I give it a well deserved 8 star rating.

Lost in the Pacific
(2016)

I liked it !
This movie definitely deserves a much better rating than the current one of 3.9. Yes there were some clichés, typical for the sci-fi/horror genre, but I liked the suspense and I was not bored for a single second, while watching it. I also liked the ambiance and there was some nice and colorful scenery in certain parts of the movie. The director did a decent job, but maybe he could get more out of the cast. I must mention the CGI, which is believable and more than solid for Chinese production. Don't expect to be swept away from your feet, but I WOULD recommend this movie to all the horror and sci-fi lovers. It is an OK flick for a night-time watch.

Saved by Grace
(2016)

Life's Emotional Twist
Movies like Saved by Grace have a lot to offer in terms of entertainment value and relevance to recent times. The life of an officer or any member of the military for that matter can be incredibly tough and dangerous. This movie reflects the imperfect period in which we live. Unlike most mainstream drama films that portray Christians Rick, who was played by Joey Lawrence is a character in the film that a lot of people can relate to in the modern world. Rick has problems with every aspect of his life, and believes that there is no purpose for him. Lawrence's performance as Rick was astonishing because he was able to channel that negative energy that Rick was feeling inside after experiencing the loss of his spouse, and the relationship with his son Luke collapsing. The only downside would be the fact that there are no loud explosions, surround sound, or even stunts. This kind of technology is rarely if ever used in drama films especially ones like this movie. Even though there are occasional problems the movie successfully provides us with an emotional roller-coaster ride using the brief action sequences between Rick and a drug dealer in his flashbacks.

Olympus
(2015)

The Cryptic Message of Olympus
I love the blood and the gore in Olympus. What I hate however is that some of the scenes are just plain over-the-top and silly. On top of that a majority of the scenes are comically distracting. I feel like I am almost watching science fiction at times. The episode was big on violence, blood, and gore but failed to really deliver on the battle sequences. The battle sequences were indeed very poorly constructed with roughly six characters participating in the actual fight. What I do give the people credit for however is the fact that there is just far too many secrets and prophecies. This was pretty good initially but later on it turned out to be a real problem as too many of these cryptic messages and the whole plot becomes confusing. Overall I think that this is the main reason why I didn't fully enjoy watching the episode. Other than that I assume some people might still like the episode.
