Blade Runner 2049
(2017)

One of my favorite movies of this year!
Blade Runner 2049 definitely took me by surprise by being one of my favorite movies of this year. At first I was skeptical about the 2 hour and 45 minute screen time and was prepared to sit thru many boring scenes. However, in the end I felt the movie did a great job making the time go by very fast. Could it have been shorter? Yes. However, I'm glad it wasn't. There were so many scenes that were crucial to the plot and to the movie. Everything adding together into one big scene of reveal that makes the audience go "ahhh". Those long scenes of silence in the movie were so intense and heart pounding. If there is one thing that this movie utilized perfect, it would be silence. Definitely a must watch in my book.

The Strain
(2014)

Season 3 Premier review "New York Strong"
I have a feeling that this is going to be a great season. Just finished watching the season premier and if the rest of the season were as interesting as this first episode, then I think we're in for a treat. There's just something about the writing, character development, and story telling this episode that really stood out.

The episode begins with a nice introduction to catch you up on all the events that's happened and everything that's gone wrong. The humans in the city are finally gaining some sort of foothold and are fighting back hard against the Strigoi. All the main characters are shown in this first episode and I think the premier did a good job of telling where the plot will lead into for the next 9 episodes. The army is helping the city, Eph is drowning himself in booze and attempting to get his son back, and Setrakian is still trying to decipher The Lumen. Fet is still carrying the show for me. He's just a bad-ass in his element.

Overall, this is going to be a great season and I can't wait for more episodes!

The Magicians
(2015)

First episode ended really unexpectedly
I was able to watch the first pilot episode and this show was a lot darker and grittier than I thought it would be. The ending in particular really surprised me with how far they were able to go. I feel like the plot is progressing too fast. The main character's entry into the school of magic could've been stretched out just a tiny bit longer into a much better story. The series of test he went through was very lackluster, and they could've been more creative with the selection process.

I found the different category of powers to be very interesting. Although this show is called Magicians, I found that it's not completely magic that they're using. There are supernatural and superpowers like levitation and mind reading that just makes it seem like magic. At the school, the students are separated into these categories and I found it interesting they incorporated supernatural elements like the Ouija board.

Like I was saying before, the first episode progressed too fast for my liking. They actually killed off, who I thought, was a very important character and the way to died was really brutal. But the introduction of the potential villain in the show was very good and it definitely ended the first episode on a high note.

Mozart in the Jungle
(2014)

Really liked this season, looking forward to season 3
I'm so glad that Amazon decided to make a second season of this show, I just finished binge watching the entire second season and I was overall happy with how this show turned out. This show, and this show alone has really gotten me interested in classical music and I think that's the greatest thing that this show brings to the table, the ability to make others interested in an entirely new genre of music.

I really like the interaction between Rodrigo and Hailey this season. There was quite a bit of focus on them this season, but the writing still left enough room for story for the other characters in this show. This season's main theme would be Rodrigo finding himself. He seems very lost on what route he should take. You can tell that the New York Symphony is his new family and he's trying his hardest to make it all work.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens
(2015)

Everything was great, but the fight at the end was disappointing
Second paragraph of this review contains ending fight spoilers*

The movie itself was great on so many aspects. The practical effects were absolutely amazing--if I remember correctly, there must have been only a couple of CGI monster/aliens, which was understandable. The practical effects and cinematography really brought a different atmosphere and a sense of realism to the movie. The actors of Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) did a fantastic job as well. Rey herself has proved to be a strong and self-dependent female lead and I for one really like the new characters introduced in this movie. What I really like the most about both these actors are their facial expressions. They're amazing at depicting realistic emotions on their face that really makes you believe in their acting.

*Warning: spoilers from here on out*

Although the movie was overall enjoyable, I did have one major gripe with it. The fight at the end of the movie between Kylo Ren and Rey left a sour taste in my mouth. I can understand if she and Finn teamed up to defeat him after a long fight, but Rey absolutely obliterated Kylo Ren in the light-saber fight. She had no prior training, but apparently, closing your eyes and believing in the force for 5 seconds makes you a Jedi master. It was so one-sided that at the end of the fight I felt like that kid from the Simpsons saying, "Stop! Stop, he's already dead" while crying.

I guess I'm just being nit picky at this point, but overall, I'm still very satisfied with the movie. The cinematography was fantastic and casts were amazing. I was really absorbed into the Star Wars atmosphere and it met most of my expectations.

Ash vs Evil Dead
(2015)

Great for newcomers as well as people who've seen the movie
The show itself is definitely headed down the right path. Instead of the gritty drama shows that we're used to like The Walking Dead and Game Of Thrones, this show has a lighter mood to it. It's not that there isn't moments of danger and suspense, but the overall strength of this show is in its ability to play off itself and bring a playful tone to this genre of TV show.

The show does a great job of filling you in on the events that happened in the movie. It takes place 30 years after what happened in The Evil Dead and it's definitely good enough to be a stand-alone show all by itself. It delivers plenty of gore, jump scares, and funny moments and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite shows to watch. The Deadites (monsters in the show) designs look really amazing. Only a few of them look silly at times, but most of the deadites look incredibly intimidating and nightmare inducing.

For a show like this, I'm glad to say that the story is actually very entertaining. I definitely recommend you give this show a chance. It won't to appeal to everyone, but you won't know unless you watch it.

Star Wars Rebels
(2014)

It has great potential, I hope they take this show in the right direction
Even though I was really upset when they cancelled the animated Clone Wars series, this is still a very close contender to it. It took me a while to get comfortable with the new flow of the show, but I'm really starting to like these new characters. It's great to see Asoka so grown up and Captain Rex still alive and kicking. This season 2 premiere really opened up a lot of possibilities for this show. With the Empire on the verge of finding them, Captain Rex and the rest of the crew are going to be on the run together.

He's most likely going to become a commander and help fight back with the rebels. The secret location that Rex will be providing them will most likely be the official best for the Rebels, and it's going to be amazing. Can't wait to see what this season will bring.

The Last Kingdom
(2015)

Won't follow the historical timelines and events, and that's what's going to make this show great
I've noticed that there have been a lot of Medieval/Vikings shows lately. Vikings, The Bastard Executioner, and The Last Kingdom are just a few examples of the well known ones. This first episode really convinced me that this show will be worth watching. The story telling and development was alright for the most part, if anything it might have paced along too fast for me. To lose 2 important historical characters like that straight out the gate really left me a little concerned for the story-line later on. I don't think that this show will follow the historical timelines to a T, but it will have some relevant moments.

Last Kingdom takes place in 9th century England during a time of conflict between the Danish Vikings and England. The first episode really sets up the background story for the main character that we will be following along with. They skipped through large periods of his life from when he was a little boy to early adulthood to show you his beginnings. I thought this show was going to focus mainly on Ragnar Lothbrok because of the timeline and Vikings invasion, but I was wrong. I think it is better that they went with this route because Vikings already has their foothold in that area. At this point in development, they can do whatever they want with the storyline and I think that's a good thing. Can't wait to see what they bring in the future.

Limitless
(2015)

Great show that really knows its potentials,
I think one of the best things about this show is that you don't need to watch the movie in order to know what's going on. This show does a great job on filling you in on all the info that you need to know. It's nice to see that NZT is still the main component in this show. If this was a show about cops trying to catch and outsmart NZT users, then I don't think it would have been as interesting. Giving the main character the ability to take any amounts of NZT he wants was a great choice. It opened up so many avenues that they could expand into and definitely made the story line more interesting.

I'm happy to see Debra-- oops, I mean Jennifer Carpenter in the FBI role. It just really seems like she was born for this type of role. Her acting is really superb and I can't wait to see more of it. The thing I like the most about this TV show is that it's like a continuation of the movie. You see Bradley Cooper's influence on the show and he himself actually makes an appearance on the first episode. This show is going to be great, so far they've showed off the powers of NZT really well and I can't wait to see what they continue to do with it.

Code Black
(2015)

Edge of your seat ER drama, definitely recommend! (NO SPOILER REVIEW)
Apart from Code Black, the only other medical show that I've really watched was House and Scrub, and that was a while ago. The show is incredibly fast paced. There are so many things going on at once and it feels like you're holding your breath almost all the time. This show definitely knows how to play with your emotions and introduces some down to earth and relatable characters. This pilot did an amazing job in mixing both character development and story development. I really felt like I got to know the characters from the get-go and what they're problems are going to be in the future. The pilot really held nothing back and I really can't wait to watch more!

Gotham
(2014)

This is definitely going to be a season worth watching!
I have a feeling this is going to be my favorite season for Gotham just from watching the first episode alone. Not only is the storytelling more suspenseful, it's also more structured. All the scenes felt necessary and showed great development in each character as the show went along. It's incredible to see how far all these characters have come since the previous season. Gordon has stopped being the white knight he was portrayed as in the first season. He's no longer the upstanding detective with unbreakable virtues. He's starting to believe that in order for him to do some good in this city, he's going have to break a few rules. He made some terrible decisions that I can already see will affect him as this season continues on.

This first episode also shows you where Barbara, Bruce, Alfred, Selena, and Penguin have advanced; sadly no Fish, but I'm sure she'll appear soon enough. This interaction between Bruce and Alfred has been the high point of the episode for me. It's great to see the young man develop into who we know will be Batman in the future, and a large part of that is because of Alfred. It's almost comical how these two interact with each other, and I'm really liking the chemistry and acting from these two.

Overall, amazing first episode. Show great development story-wise in many of the main characters. I can't wait to watch the next episode, give this show a chance guys!

The Bastard Executioner
(2015)

Either you like it, or you don't
Two big things grabbed my attention when I researched The Bastard Executioner. The first was that it is directed by Kurt Sutter, the same person who created Sons of Anarchy. The second thing was that this show is set in a medieval time-line. I was immediately intrigued and was dead set on watching the 2 hour pilot premiere.

The story was OK for the most part, nothing too game changing. The show started out very Robin-hood like. A corrupt Lord started raising taxes on the people he ruled over, causing a group of peasants (and one particular peasant knight) to revolt and fight back. They gave the stolen goods back to it's people, but unfortunately, their identity was discovered. This caused the lord to raid their village and all hell breaks lose. The story develops a lot more than that, but I don't want to give away too much. If what I've described interested you, then you should give this show a chance.

One thing that stands out the most is the gore. OH.MY.GOD. I'm not trying to spoil anything for you, but if you don't like seeing entrails, women getting stabbed, a fetus, neck slitting, or dismemberment, then this is definitely not the show for you. I didn't even know a network like Fox would allow some of this stuff to go through. Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly fine with most of that stuff, but that scene in the village after the group comes back....my jaw dropped.

Needless to say, this show definitely grabbed my attention. I will continue to follow the series and update this review to let you guys know if it's worth watching.

Scorpion
(2014)

The show had potential, but failed to deliver.
The premise of this show starts with super genius Walter O'Brien who has an IQ of 197. He recruits a team of similar well-minded individuals each specializing in their own department such as psychology, engineering, or statistics and together they fight threats that affect the modern world. No, the repeated sentences are not a mistake on my part. If you thought that reading through those sentences were repetitive, tedious, and unnecessary, then you probably shouldn't watch this show. Since the beginning of the show, they pound into you the specific roles of each individual over and over again. Don't get me wrong, the premise and the actors were very interesting, but the script was absolutely cringe-worthy. Lines from certain characters were out of place and awkward, the scientific mumbo jumbo didn't make since, and jokes were forced and badly executed.

Monkey Kingdom
(2015)

Family friendly, informative, and beautiful documentary
Summary: A nature documentary that follows a newborn monkey and its mother as they struggle to survive within the competitive social hierarchy of the monkey kingdom, a dynamic group of monkeys who live in ancient ruins found deep in the storied jungles of South Asia.

This is a great nature documentary to buy for your kids. They show you the playful and human side of this group of monkeys and it's all narrated by a female voice actor who has a warm and gentle voice. The documentary has a very story-telling feel to it that I'm sure your kids will love. Do be careful though, there are deaths in this documentary. It kind of surprised me at first that they would put that scene in this movie, but in the end it kind of made sense. It was done in a respectful way to show the viewers what it was like in the monkey kingdom. They cover all the basis and provided some great shots of the environment around them. Overall, very informative and children friendly documentary.

Power
(2014)

Finally, a realistic show that's not overly glamorized
Just finished watching the entire season 2 of Power and wanted to give you guys my thoughts on the show. This season brings betrayal and suspense to a whole new level, I was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. The story-line for this show was really well paced. It wasn't incredibly complex, but what made it great was that it was realistic. This show isn't a glamorized version of what it would be like to be a boss of a drug gang in NY. It's a realistic setting with realistic scenarios that one might encounter in their situation. The mix of drama and the performances by the actors really sold the show for me and I felt that the whole season was great. I never knew 50 cent was an actor, but damn he was good. I didn't like the way they tried to sell the relationship between Shawn and Tasha, it just seemed forced and out of place. Overall, I guess I'm just nitpicking at the small things. This show as a whole was fantastic and I'm glad I watched it!

Doragon Bôru Zetto Fukkatsu no 'Efu'
(2015)

The DBZ movie I've been waiting for (NO SPOILER REVIEW)
First a quick description of the show: Frieza is revived by the remnants of his army. He retreats back to his planet to train for months in preparation to exact his revenge against the Saiyans. Upon completion of his training, he brings the entirety of his army and invades Earth. This movie is so action packed from beginning to end and I'm so glad I watched this in theater. Just being there in the movie theater with all the DBZ fans cheering and cracking up was just a wonderful experience. The fight scene, music, and animation just went above and beyond my expectation.

I think the best aspect of this movie was when all the original DBZ characters got to show off their skills. Everyone from Master Roshi to Jaco the Galactic Patrolman had important and hilarious moments in this show. Without spoiling anything, a situation occurs in the show where the group divides up people to fight and they all showed their best skills. It wasn't one of those SPECIAL BEAM CANNON and then on to the next character kind of scenes. They all had a good amount of time spent on their fighting scenes and it's probably one of the best fan service moments I've ever seen. Even Vegeta, who is always being shown up by Goku, had really cool moments.

The movie kept along at a relaxed pace in the beginning, but definitely revved up at the end. You know in some fight scenes, they usually have those swift blurred lines with people throwing punches that symbolizes that they are throwing dozens of them. Well, it's not there anymore. They slowed down the punches and really shows you the detail and strength behind them. If there is one thing I would nitpick about this movie, it would be that there was basically no major develop. In the previous movie, "Battle Of The Gods", you get to discover Beerus who brings power levels to a whole new ballgame, you see a new transformation of Super Saiyan, and it developed the plot and let you know that there are much stronger people out in the universe. But for this movie, there wasn't any huge developments. I think it was more of an homage to Frieza, the final sendoff to a great DBZ character, and I'm OK with that.

I honestly can't say enough good things about this movie, to me it was damn near perfect. Give it a chance, you won't regret it!

Long Zhi Gu: Po Xiao Qi Bing
(2014)

~~Action packed movie for the whole family to enjoy (NO SPOILERS)~~
As a 23 year old, watching this movie was much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. What interested me about this movie was that I've played Dragon Nest in the past and I was interested to see what the movie would be like. Don't worry if you've never played Dragon Nest before, you do not need to know the story of the game in order to follow along in this movie. Everything was explained well enough throughout the movie that you will follow along just fine. To start off, I should warn you that there are deaths in this movie, but the fighting and deaths scenes are very contained. What I mean by that is when a character is cut, they do not show any blood or the wound and they do not die in any gruesome type of way. The atmosphere, character, and the cartoon style sort of resembles How To Train Your Dragon in many ways. If I had to choose something memorable, I would have to say the music really stood out the most. They did a great job of creating the atmosphere and setting the mood for most scenes.

There are a couple of things that I didn't like. It might be nitpicking since it's just a children's movie, but I feel like they could've done much better on some things. First of all, the whole story developed at a very fast pace, so fast that there was no room left for character development at all. Whatever character development did happen was only focused entirely around the main character. However, because of the fast pace, they were able to squeeze in a lot of enjoyable action scenes. Secondly, it was painfully obvious who the bad guys were. The stereotype of bad guys wear black clothing were very prominent in this movie.

In conclusion, this movie has pretty much everything you want in a children's action movie. Swords, magic, princesses, warriors, fighting, and DRAGONS!!!!

Ballers
(2015)

~~This show is so much fun to watch, can't wait for more (NON-SPOILER REVIEW)~~
I just finished episode 8 and wanted to share with you my thoughts on the show so far. Don't worry, this is a SPOILER-FREE review.

Set in Miami, Ballers tells the story of fictional football stars retired and ongoing as they go through their life. The show uses a blend of humor and real life situations to show you the things that football players go through. They show you the highs and lows in their life and the price they have to pay in order to obtain fame.

Things I liked about the show:

+ The Rock singing Shake It Off

+ Even though it's only 30 minutes long, the show doesn't feel rushed and provides a lot of background content.

+ Whoever picks the music for this show needs a raise! All the songs were great and fits the scene perfectly.

+ Rob Corddry is hilarious in every scene and really brings the show together

+ This show divides aspects of a football player's life into separate characters. Each characters represent a problem in a real football player's life. For example; people smooching off you, contract deals, money problems, the price of fame, retirement, and past traumas.

Things I don't like about the show:

  • Reggie. F Reggie. (Actually, now that I think about it, an actor making me hate his character that much is doing a great job)

  • There is very little football in this show. It's more centered around the players themselves than actually playing the sport. So if you're going into this thinking that it's going to be like Friday Night Lights, then you will be very disappointed.

  • Characters are unbelievably blind to the obvious. They keep making obvious mistakes that viewers know will end terribly, but they just keep doing it and it frustrates me.

  • Only 30 minutes long, I wish it was longer.

iZombie
(2015)

Give this show a chance, I did, and I loved it!!
I want to start off this review by letting you guys know that you can watch episode 6-10 of iZombie FOR FREE on the CW website (Yes, you do have to turn ad-block off).

This show was such a pleasant surprise to discover; the only reason I was able to find this show was through watching The Flash and Arrow. In between commercials for these two shows, they occasionally show commercials for iZombie, but I've always ignored them. Eventually over time I start noticing them more and more and I was getting really intrigued. After my friend, who's also big comic book/manga nerd like I am, recommended me to watch iZombie, I decided to finally give it a chance.

I was hooked on the first show. The atmosphere is dark and playful at the same time, the dialog is quick and witty, and the plot is crazy! Girl scratched by a zombie becomes a zombie herself and can only feed her hunger with brains. She gains the memories and experiences of the eaten brain for a certain amount of time and uses this skill to help her detective friend solve their deaths. OMG who thinks of this stuff?!?!

It's not just the stereotypical crime at the beginning of the show, everything comes together at the end, almost everyone looks like a model kind of show. I mean it is, but they do it soooo much better than most shows I've seen. The show continues along at a great pace, the characters are so well developed and intriguing that I wish I knew them in real life, and they keep surprising me with each show. The brain eating aspect really brings some incredibly situations and first person views of the victims and I think that it really adds to the originality of the show.

Ant-Man
(2015)

If you've always been a marvel movie fan, then you will like this one as well!
I'm looking at all these reviews on IMDb and I see that literally every review has around 50% down votes. I think people are mostly divided on their views for this movie; some people complained about the fight scenes while others complimented the CGI and vice versa. I was hesitant to go see it after reading the reviews, but I shoved all those negative thoughts out of my head and went regardless.

I'm really glad that I went. I wasn't a huge fan of Marvel and DC superheroes at first – I'm more of an anime/manga lover, but over the years all these superhero movies grew on me and I've since caught up on all of them. I went into this movie knowing basically nothing about the background of Ant-Man and I followed along with the plot just fine. The movie describes Ant-man's humble beginnings very well and I'm sure that kids of all ages will be able to follow along with the plot just fine.

This movie is meant for people of all ages, but if you ask me, I think it's leaning just a little bit towards the younger generation. If I remember correctly (it's been awhile since I've last seen the movie), I don't think there were any nudity or sex scenes. The jokes definitely feel like Marvel jokes; light-hearted, fast pace, quick- wit, and really capitalizing on "cool" moments.

I personally thought that the action scenes and CGI were phenomenal. People underestimate how hard it is to make a unique character such as Ant-Man work on the big screen and I think they did a fantastic job. The fight scenes are very innovative, his transformations during the fights opens up a lot of possibility and brings variety to the table. The supporting casts were great as well; Michael Pena tried way too hard to be funny, but it still came out alright. Evangeline Lilly played Hope PERFECTLY. I really like her in this role and I'm glad they are initiating her into the marvel universe.

In conclusion, if you are the type of person that really likes the Marvel movie franchises, then I think you should give this movie a chance. I really liked it and I'm sure most of you will too.

The Last: Naruto the Movie
(2014)

~~Amazing Movie, shows you the events after the war, and sets up the Boruto movie coming out on October 10th~~
Out of all the Naruto Movies that I've seen (I've seen all of them), I rank this one the highest among the "Must Buy" list. Why? Because it's the only one that actually develops the overall story-line. Events that occur in this movie will have direct impact on the overall plot to come in the next movie or manga. You can't say the same about any other Naruto movies such as Blood Prison, The Lost Tower, and Bonds because they offer nothing to the overall story- line. For example, the situation between Naruto and Hinata in this movie will explain the events that happen in the future of the main story. This is not the only example of course, but I just wanted to give you a minor example of what I meant without spoiling anything. In any case, the movie is more like a sequel for the Fourth Shinobi War more than anything. The beginning of the movie shows you the technological advancements after the war as well as how all the characters are doing. The rest of the movie sets up events that happened to Naruto and Hinata while setting up the upcoming movie Boruto that comes out October, 10th!!!

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
(2015)

~~Tom Cruise doing what he does best~~
Tom Cruise is the craziest actor in the world. You have to admire that kind of dedication he has for his craft; you know he loves what he does. Doing his own stunts is what is making Mission Impossible differ from other spy movies like James Bond. Seeing a close-up of his facial expressions as the action went on really pulls you into the scene. One thing you can't deny is that this movie is filled an immense amount of action. Fight scenes, assassinations, car chases, gun fights; this movie has it all! If you enjoyed the previous Mission Impossible movies, then you can't go wrong with this one because it brings the game to a whole new level. Whoever decided to make Simon Pegg the main supporting actor is a genius! Every word that came out of his mouth was hilarious.

The reason that I took off a star for this movie was because of the predictability of the story. Like many spy movies, the story-line just seemed so generic. An evil organization tries to cause trouble for the world and its up to the world's best secret agent to try and take them down. On the way he falls in love with a beautiful female assassin and they team up to try and foil the plans of said evil organization (roll eyes).

In conclusion, even though the story line was predictable, it didn't take away from the whole experience of watching the movie. Some of the supporting casts were great even though they seemed to provide more of a comedic relief than actually having an impact on the show, and Tom Cruise performed phenomenal as ever.

The Brink
(2015)

~~Show starts off strong and is funny in almost every scene, highly recommend~~
HBO's new show "The Brink" tells the story of the U.S. government and their attempts at foreign affair through dark comedy and satire. Without spoiling anything, the show brings you around the world as you follow characters like Alex Talbot (Jack Black), Walter Larson (Tim Robbins), and Zeke Tilson (Pablo Schreiber) through U.S. government and military scramble to prevent World War 3 from happening.

It's been a long time since I actually found a TV show this funny. The cast in this show are fantastic; Jack Black, Tim Robbins, and Pablo Schreiber really sell the show for me along with many other supporting actors. When I first saw Jack Black, I thought his performance was going to be over the top with crazy expressions and hand gestures, but I'm glad that he toned it down. Don't get me wrong, I love Jack Black. I just didn't think that his performance in Tenacious D was going to work in here. Compared to the movies he usually does, The Brink combines a serious, suspenseful, and playful tone at the same time.

In conclusion, the pacing in this movie is really good, this is not the type of show that has a lot of background story in character development. They are more concerned with the present and fast paced movie that gives you suspense and a good laugh. Overall, I'm really impressed with this show and I hope it goes on for many more seasons!

Sneaky Pete: Pilot
(2015)
Episode 1, Season 1

~~Great story made better by great actors, can't wait to watch more~~
Let me start off by saying that this review will contain NO SPOILERS. I have to say, the cast is freaking FANTASTIC. All of them are great actors who really fits into the role that they are suppose to play. When I first saw the main character Pete I said to myself, "Wow he really reminds me of Jesse Pinkman." And next thing I know, I see Bryan Cranston on screen and I got really excited. Hopefully, more episodes will come soon, but since it is an Amazon Pilot, who knows how many months it will be until we see a new episode. I hope it doesn't get the same treatment as Man In the High Castle because that show was amazing, but we haven't seen a new episode in 7 months.

The first episode of Sneaky Pete moved along at a great pace. Each character is being developed at a steady pace and they all feel like an integral part of the show already (maybe except the Grandpa). In a way this show kind of reminds me of White Collar, except it doesn't have that "light" vibe. I don't know how else to describe it, but there is a more serious tone to Sneaky Pete and that's what I really like about it. A con-man using the head hunting business to catch other criminals is very intriguing because it lets you see various types of criminal minds. There were a couple of suspenseful moments where you think someone suspects him or a character might be in actual danger, but never enough for it to be a nail biter. What's going to put this show above others is going to be the diversity of the criminals and the ability to show the viewers how a con-man really thinks. Overall a very interesting show with great potential and I can't wait to watch more!!!

Casanova
(2015)

~~First episode is laying the groundwork, this show has great potential~~
This show really threw me for a loop. At first, I thought it was going to be about debaucheries committed by Casanova as he lived his life in Paris. They show you an overwhelming amount of beautiful women with corsets that really…uh…accentuate their beauty. As the show goes on though, they really capture the personality of Casanova. You know from the very beginning that he was a sexual deviant. And then suddenly, everything takes a turn when they delved deeper into his life about Alchemy, politics, and even espionage. What really astounded me about this show was the amount of details put into the costumes and the scenery. It was absolutely AMAZING to see the amount of thought put into the show and you can actually feel the atmosphere and culture. Everything from clothing designs to walking along the street really captured the essence of France. What this show did lack, however, was suspense and pacing. There were no moments in show where I was on the edge of my seat; Casanova was never really in any danger. Something I do agree with other reviewers is that the story develops at a snail's pace. I personally didn't mind it, but I can understand how this show might be perceived as dull by others. I am certain that it will get much better further on. This first episode was more to show you the beginnings of Casanova and setting the groundwork for much better things later on. Can't wait to see more episodes, this show definitely has a lot of potential!
