Dr. Death: The Undoctored Story
(2021)

Unbelievable!
The real villain of this documentary is not Dr Death but the system. It is appalling that it took that long, 30 patients in much worse condition than prior to "operations" and 2 deaths. I couldn't care less if the surgeon is God in the OP room when all staff could see he was doing life-threatening damage to the "patients". I had alerted the media, the police and posted it on the walls, that a mad man was pretending to be a surgeon. The patients were victims, the operations were crime scenes and the surgeon a sociopath trying to commit manslaughter. The persons in the documentary took their time to get that man eliminated and the system, the hospital boards and the council should be charged with gross negligence and pay billions of dollars in damages to the families and the victims. The documentary is not focused on the failure of the system but on a sick man, who causes a lot of tragedies because no one really shouted STOP. It's entertaining but superficial. Even the title Dr Death is misleading. He was not a doctor, he was a murderer walking about with, not a gun, but a scalpel in his hand attacking random people and they let him do it far to long!

The Greatest Night in Pop
(2024)

Just Two Words
Michael Jackson....the King of Music, what a Megastar the World will never see again. A lot of wonderful Stars, all talented in their own way, acting like ordinary people, nervous, hungry, impatient, tired, neurotic, overwhelmed, starstruck. Amazing documentary and Lionel Richie did a brilliant job with Quincy Jones. I think to give it a 10, I would have liked some mini-interviews with some of the artists, on the other hand, maybe that would ruin the down-to-earth ambience and spontane interaction. Maybe I just miss those days where something this big could take place. Coming together, check-in your Ego at the entrance and help people in need by doing your very best.

A fountain of geniuses, but the brightest Star of all, just two words. Rest in peace.

Not good but not unwatchable.
The start of the movie is actually promising and the scary parts thankfully without the tiresome jumpscares, a little too graphic for some, but the movie delivered in the murder scenes. That's a plus these days and you don't have to wait for it either. I initially thought the actors were playing under standard, but they are subtle to a point that is either frustrating or fulfilling to the viewer. They play better than most reviews are saying. Not Oscar performance but not horrible either. The direction is to blame for this strange mixture of relaxed ambience in a highly intense horror story. Yes predictable, yes the script was full of cliches, yes the ending was highly improbable, show me a movie in the streaming productions that are significantly better. But at least it wasn't boring, the worst crime of all to the audience. On a rainy afternoon with hot chocolate on the sofa, this movie is okay entertainment.
