Rorschach

Not the regular thrillers we are familiar with...
Usually, a revenge thriller concludes with the demise or fall of the antagonist, but this movie's plot starts from that point. Which makes this film somewhat distinct from other films.

I don't think so that there's a need to mention about Mammootty's performance in this movie, as usual he nailed. To an extent, we can call this a one-man show of Mammootty.

The making of this film is incredible, the screenplay is gripping and the transition of the character played by Bindu Panicker was something we all have never seen from her before. Glad that they didn't stuff any unnecessary songs in between to cut the flow of the movie. This is not exactly an edge-of-the-seat thriller, this is more of a slow burner.

Bollywood needs films like this !
Most of us will be aware of what to predict from a psycho-thriller, a cat and mouse game between the killer and the cop, the killer's past and the motive, the climax, and all that. What makes this movie different from other thrillers is that the whole concept which the film try speak itself is something distinctive and never seen before.

On top of all that DQ's performance stands out. One of the good thrillers to be considered to watch in the cinema and won't disappoint anyone, just surprised by the fact that this movie is rated pg15 in UAE with all its blood and gore while it's rated A in India.

Cobra

A complete Vikram show....
Starting with positives, the concept is different from other Tamil films, Vikram's performance was remarkable as usual, a few supporting characters were great, and the twists and turns worked for most parts (first half and the interval block 💯)

I felt like this was 5-hour movie trimmed to 3 hours. Many portions will leave you confused and for the most part, you have to fill in the gaps, if you overthink, this might spin your head because of its complex nature, especially in the second half (depends on how serious you take this film).

Overall a one time watch, definitely not a waste of money.

Thallodu Thallu
ONE OF ITS KIND IN MOLLYWOOD. EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT EVERYONE'S CUP OF TEA, THOSE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING UNIQUE AND FRESH DO GIVE THIS A SHOT. THE MOVIE IS FILLED WITH A TON OF ACTION SEQUENCES EVERY 10-15 MINUTES, THE BGM AND CINEMATOGRAPHY STAND OUT. STORY WISE THE FILM GOT NOTHING MUCH TO OFFER BUT DOESN'T FAIL TO ENTERTAIN WITH LOTS OF INTERESTING ASPECTS GOING ON.

Pakka mass
The film has no great plot, twists, or logic, then why are we even watching this?

Well, this is an out-and-out commercial mass a film that stood completely true to its genre with barely any dull moments. Those who love watching popcorn flicks like this are gonna have a lot of fun because this film is filled with kickass moments which will take you back to the 90s. Personally I felt it was bang for the buck. Only drawbacks I found were some songs and a few underutilized characters, especially the protagonist but apart from that this is a kind of film that you wanna go with family or friends and enjoy at the cinema.

I felt whatever was promised by the makers was fulfilled.

Jana Gana Mana

A must watch
The characters in this film are solid, each and everyone nailed it to the core. The first half starts a bit confusing but later it catches up the pace once Suraj appears on the screen, to an extent he stole the show with a decent interval bang. The second half of the film is terrific, Prithviraj was just tremendous. The last 45 minutes of the movie are an absolute treat with lots of enormous twists and turns. More than all that this film discusses the current political situation in India and most events that take place in this movie is based on true incidents. A film that I personally believe that should be watched at least once.

Salute
(2022)

Good decision for not releasing in the cinema.
Neither bad nor great as it might not be everyone's cup of tea. It will take a while for the film to kick in but even when it slightly does nothing was fascinating about the film which is usually expected from a crime thriller, even though the graph was just steady and slow the plot to an extent keeps us engaged, at least the last 15-20 minutes. Felt something was missing and It might be a bit of a task to finish the film in a single stretch. Overall a decent film.

A fun time pass
In terms of action sequences, this film is a blast, it was well choreographed and throughout the sequence, the intensity was maintained primarily in the interval chase scene and the bus sequence post-interval, on top of that Ajith's screen presence plays an enormous role. But apart from that, the sentiments didn't work well between the characters, some might won't enjoy the drama portion in the film and story-wise it's not something different, we all have seen films that's takes place in the backdrop of narcotics, gangsters, and cop trying to bring a change, tbh if you can digest certain things most of these negatives can be disregarded and doesn't really affect the film in a huge way .

Overall it's enjoyable if certain things can be neglected.

INCREDIBLE
I'M AWARE OF THIS INCIDENT AS IT'S BASED ON A TRUE STORY, THE HUGE CHALLENGE HERE IS HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO KEEP THE AUDIENCE WHO KNOW THE ENTIRE STORY, ENGAGED.

MUST SAY THE FILM SURPASSED ALL MY EXPECTATIONS AND TURNED OUT TO BE A GREAT CRIME THRILLER.

THE STORY WAS MUCH BEYOND ALL THAT I KNEW, PERSONALLY I FOUND THE FIRST HALF TO BE INTERESTING WHILE SOME AUDIENCE FOUND IT A BIT LAGGY BUT WHEN IT COMES TO SECOND HALF THE FILM IS PHENOMENAL, ESPECIALLY WHEN EVERYTHING FROM THE FIRST HALF RELATES AND MAKES SENSE.

A MUST WATCH FILM, AND THIS IS HIGH TIME THAT WE SUPPORT THE INDUSTRY.

F9
(2021)

Seriously ?
I'm not a fan of the fast saga, but I did get a kick out of some in the series very much, FAST FIVE and FURIOUS 7 especially. These days we don't get anything logical or a brilliant plot from the series, makers think that all we need is just entertainment.

Unfortunately, F9 didn't work for me at all even in terms of fun, though the characters were stunning as always been, the movie was crammed with lots of cliches, family bs, predictable plot, awful jokes, and illogical action scenes throughout.

On top of all that a cliffhanger which indicates there's gonna be one more like this. First of all, going to the cinema during this whole situation is messed up and on top of that, you see a film that barely meets any expectations kinda sucks.

Maybe as a fan, the film can be celebrated but I'm not sure a normal viewer who spares time for this film can appreciate this.

90 Min Ride with lots of great moments!
Finally got to see some amazing movie in the cinema. To be honest this film is filled with lots of terrific moments and surprises (not twists) with its badass characters, especially the protagonist "Bob Odenkirk" he completely nailed it.

From the start to the end of the film was a BANG! ... for all those who love movies like John Wick, Equalizer shouldn't miss this movie at all ... It worth the money

The Priest
(2021)

Not sure if it is everyone's cup of tea !
I can't decide if this flick is horror or thriller, it was blended around those two, felt it would have been better if they were stuck to one rather experimenting both. Even though the story was slightly different from the typical plots we see in movies, there was nothing special.

The narration was predictable and the twists and turns didn't work for me. Most of the characters including the protagonist couldn't bring much impact on the screen, except for the outstanding young girl. After all Mammootty is a legendary actor who could have done wonders, but in this film he couldn't do much.

Technically the film was remarkable in terms of cinematography and music. The only place where you can at least get the best of this movie is by seeing in a theater and no other place, I'm pretty sure it can't be enjoyed watching elsewhere and this is the high time we all support our industry so that we can get to see more good films hopefully.

ASTONISHING
NOT HERE BRAG OR BEAT AROUND THE BUSH TELLING HOW THIS MOVIE WAS. HONESTLY NEVER HAD ANY EXPECTATIONS FOR THE SEQUEL, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AN EMOTIONAL DRAMA JUST LIKE HOW THE DIRECTOR CLAIMED. BUT WENT WAY BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS, LAST ONE HOUR WAS BRILLIANT AND UNEXPECTED. DAMN, THEY NAILED IT !! THIS IS HOW YOU DO A SEQUEL. WE ALL MISSED A GOOD THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE.

JUST GO WATCH THIS !!!!

Just a one time watch !
The film was unique from all other "Vijay" movies. The direction was wonderful and didn't make us feel that we are watching a typical "mass-masala" film. Both Vijay's and Sethupathi's characters were tremendous and were the main reason for us to hold on till the climax. Anirudh's bgm elevated the scenes to a whole new level. I felt the second half didn't live up to the first half of the movie, and the Hero-Villain clash couldn't bring much impact as anticipated. Overall a one time watch.

Wonder Woman 1984
(2020)

Is it worth it ?
I felt it is quite varied from other superhero movies, It was more of an emotional feel-good kind of film, and the sentimental aspects in the film worked satisfactorily.

I enjoyed the prequel further, but this isn't a bad sequel either, even though the duration was 2.5 hours and no many action sequences I still liked it without feeling any lag. The story was engaging but still, it's the same "save the world thing".

Shylock
(2020)

A time pass movie made to entertain for 130 min
Truly a film just for people who enjoy mass elements. Mammootty is so energetic in this movie, just his screen presence is more than enough. Story wise it's a cliche, predictable plot and nothing much to offer. If you're just looking for entertainment then this is the right movie, didn't even realized how fast the time flew, especially the first half it was super fast. For normal audience I'm not sure how they are gonna accept, but definitely it won't be a worst experience. By seeing the teaser if you know what to expect, then do catch it.

Anjaam Pathiraa
(2020)

One hell of a movie
It's a remarkable crime thriller like never before. The cat and mouse game is well portrayed from start to end without losing its intensity even for a minute, the movie is really gripping. Many people have been correlating this to Ratsasan, I have to say towards the end it's one step ahead of it. Just don't miss this, especially crime-thriller fans. I don't wanna say much about this movie, u should experience in cinema.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior
(2020)

Good entertainer
Starting with positives, the film is not a disappointment. It got all the elements to keep the audience throughout the film. Background score plays a huge role in enhancing the the film to a next level. All the cast were great as payed complete justice to their roles, especially Ajay Devgn "the man of the show" and Saif Ali khan as a great villain. The cgi wasn't really impressive especially day shots, at times felt almost like a cartoon and it was irritating, but the climax was good and it's also the major highlight of the film. Well I've seen people comparing this with bahubali, trust me no where near to it. But we should understand the difference between fiction and real life. If you're really into historical flicks. This movie is for you

Ghost Stories
(2020)

Think twice!
Well, the first story isn't really great, It was somewhere between average and bad. the main motive of a horror film is to scare and give you some chills, unfortunately, this languished in those terms. When it comes to the second story it gets darker and slightly intense, it keeps the stride but still that couldn't live up to the outlook. Compared to the previous two stories third, was striking, certain sequences will actually grab your entire attention. The last story was colorful, it has got all the elements of a Bollywood movie, but I'm wondering how it's a horror movie. At least the first two films got that scary atmosphere even though it didn't. Overall this film is below average. If you really wanna see, watch without any expectations.

Mamangam: History of the Brave
(2019)

Do read this !
It started off really great and its climax is also another highlight. Mammootty's performance even at the age of 68 is impossible, no matter what the role is he can nail it. It's not a complete commercial mass entertainer, it's a movie made by giving more inclinations to its story and yes it's a true historical movie. The technical side of the movie was impressive according to the Malayalam film industry. Action scenes were great, especially the 11-year-old Achuthan. Since it's more of an emotional drama film, some might find the movie a bit lagging, but if you're indulged in the history of Mamangam and it's characters you're gonna love this movie. These kinds of movies should be encouraged in our industry so that we will get to see more of these Epics. Definitely, it's a theatrical experience, so try to catch up in the cinema.

Make your day beautiful just by seeing this movie
The movie is following a non-linear pattern, love the way how the story is narrated with a lot of hilarious moments. the way how they showcased the characters was outstanding and the chemistry between them worked out really well which was the main reason that made the movie so fun. Movie conveys a strong message. A feel-good movie.

It Chapter Two
(2019)

Not as bad as I expected
One thing I can assure is that "IT Chapter 2" is not a mediocre horror movie. It starts off really promising but only to an extent the movie could keep its promise. In 2 hours and 49 minutes, IT could have shown us a lot better things rather than focusing on flashbacks and many unnecessary things. Expected a lot of moments with pennywise which turned me down, but his screen presence plays a huge impact in the movie, nailed every scene in which he was present. Especially some death scenes were really touching. The climax was emotionless like as if the film was pretending to make audiences happy. Its chapter 2 wasn't as great as the prequel, but definitely a good sequel.

Complete Prabhas show !!!
It starts slowly by introducing all the characters. When it comes to the interval, the movie delivers a good twist. Second half was filled with lot of action scenes to engage the viewers and ends with a great climax with a lot bigger twist. A commercial flick which was made specially for Prabhas fans. Really have to appreciate 2.5 years of hard work.

Super 30
(2019)

Great movie ... go to cinema and experience for yourself... Won't disappoint
A well-made heart touching journey of a man with a great message which showcases the true situation of education system in India . The movie even focuses on the malpractices done by the "education mafia" . Won't say it's completely based on real-life, many elements have been added in order to enhance the experience. But definitely a good watch.

Virus
(2019)

Every malayali should watch this !
A well crafted survival thriller like never before in Malayalam film industry . This movie is about a deadly virus "Nipah" which is transmitted through contaminated food or directly between people. This film all about how these people overcome this situation and survive this . The film takes the audience deep into story such that they can feel every emotions of the characters even though the film don't focus much on any characters . A docu-fiction kind of movie .
