The Act
(2019)

True to the events with near flawless acting
I went into the series not knowing anything about the story and was completely blown away with how intensely everything was done. After watching a few episodes, I tracked down the documentary and read up on what really happened. Seeing the truth and then going back to the series made me realize how wonderfully this series is done. The acting is near flawless and the story seems to be done as true to the events as possible. Obviously, with historical shows, there will be some creative license; but it does seem like the writers took great care to keep it as realistic as possible. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the story and make up your own mind about the case. I have some very strong opinions, but I want you to go in with a clear head. Whatever your conclusion, I guarantee this series will make you think and leave you with some strong emotions. It's hard to watch, but the story definitely needed to be told.

Raising Tourette's
(2018)

An important story that needed to be told
This is such an amazing mini-series! I happened to find it by chance and decided that it seemed interesting. I knew a bit about Tourette's going in, but learned a lot by the end of the series. The only way we can understand our neighbors is to learn about them; and this definitely gives you a peek into the lives of people with Tourette's and how it impacts them and their loved ones. I do wish it was a bit longer because I think six episodes only scratched the surface of their lives. The only reason I gave it a 9/10 instead of a 10/10 was because some of the editing seemed a bit off. However, these kids are an inspiration and I thank them for sharing their stories! Definitely a series not to be missed!!!!

I Spit on Your Grave
(2010)

Overall, unsatisfying but still worth the watch
I don't understand why this remake was so controversial. However, it's worth the watch to see what all the hype was about. The acting was good and the setting was perfect; but there was something lacking between the switch from the first to the second part of the movie.

The second movie in the series is awesome. It's worth watching the first one so you can ease into the second one. Everything that was lacking in the first one is more than made up for in the second one.

I Spit on Your Grave 2
(2013)

Much better than the first (minor spoilers)
The first movie left me unsatisfied with the revenge portion. As a woman, I didn't feel like the characters really got what was coming to them. I didn't see the original, but I don't understand how the remake was controversial.

THIS movie, on the other hand, did what the first movie failed to do! It is worthy of controversy. The movie was intense, shocking, and the revenge portion was satisfying. There were even a few moments where I cringed (something that didn't happen in the first movie). I appreciated the religious undertones and think they played well with the plot. The ending left me feeling satisfied. Overall, I thought the acting was pretty solid.

I would recommend it to people who weren't shocked by the first one. However, if you thought the first one was intense then I don't think you'll be able to hand this movie. The first half was almost too much for me; but I am glad that I stuck through it and got to experience the second part.

Hell House LLC
(2015)

Creepy and intense
I'm a more casual fan of the horror genre, so this isn't coming from someone who is "hardcore" into the films. A lot of the "scary" movies don't phase me much (yet I still enjoy most of them). However, Hell House was a delightful change of pace. It creeped me out and I even had to cover my eyes a bit during some parts. Even though I've never heard of the actors, or the director, it was way better than some of the major motion picture horror films released in the last few years. The plot was also refreshing and I think it would be attractive to a lot of viewers who are looking for something a little different to check out.

I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a movie that's creepy, intense, and fun to watch!
