Anazâ
(2012)

Nether watched more infuriating characters in my life
I was really excited to watch this anime. I had had it on my watch list for years and thought today would finally be the day I started it. At first, it began really interestingly, but then the plot became very evident and yet the main character was completely ignoring every word the other characters were saying. He kept just doing the wrong thing and I've never wanted to scream at a screen more than this anime. Really disappointed with the characters in this one. I had to give it up

Psycho-Pass
(2012)

Great but season three was unnecessary
I really enjoyed this anime and the unique concept. I loved the idea of a futuristic society obsessed with maintaining peace and order and how we saw the characters question the legitimacy of the Sibyl system. I thoroughly enjoyed season one, and was shocked that I enjoyed season two as much as I did as a significant character was no longer present. But season three was completely unnecessary. All of the original characters were pretty much removed from the show without a trace and it failed to answer the questions I would've thought would have been answered in the final season. It was a real shame as I would've rated the anime much higher if the third season didn't exist. Personally, I would recommend still watching season 1 and 2, but I'd skip 3 unless you're okay with your experience being ruined.

Fire Force

Pretty disappointed...but I'd give it a chance
I think I'm one of the few people that really don't get the hype around this anime. I absolutely love the opening song, and the concept/plot was really intriguing which encouraged me to watch it in the first place. But watching it... was a bit lacklustre. I wish I could say I like the main characters, but I think the majority of them are mediocre at best. Not only that but the repetitive fan service was overwhelming and made me want to quick the show on multiple occasions. It happened too often and most were not funny at all/ forced humour. I watched it for the action/intense scenes, not for clothes flying off every 5 minutes during a serious fight scene. The female characters all have no substance and are just there to support the male characters and it's pretty sad to watch. It is a shame as I really felt like this show had potential. However, I rated it 6/10 because I think it's too premature to write the anime off too early and I'll give season two a second chance but... I don't have high hopes.

Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan
(2016)

I'm really hoping this anime will continue
The disastrous life of Saiki K is amazing! It is such a fun anime that can make anyone's day. I stumbled onto it on Netflix and I ended up watching 15 episodes in a day! I do hope that Saiki K's adventures continue because I believe that it could live up to other long-term running anime's like Detective Conan; it is that good! I highly recommend this anime to anyone who needs a laugh

Kimi no suizô o tabetai
(2018)

A heartwarming message
I was intrigued by this anime from the get-go. The title itself was eye catching as I had never seen such a bizarre name, and I sat down to watch it as soon as I got the chance. 'I want to eat your pancreas' is about a young girl named Sakura who was diagnosed with a pancreatic illness, and told she had only a little time left to live. This film not only is beautiful aesthetically but also through the story it tells the audience. The message is to live everyday like it's your last! If you liked other anime such as 'your lie in april' or 'Kimi no Na wa' this is perfect for you.

Shingeki no Kyojin
(2013)

LOVE LOVE LOVE
My plan for this summer was to watch as many anime series as possible, and the few I had watched before 'Attack on Titan' had not lived up to my expectations; this made my standards for this anime extremely high. Yet I thoroughly enjoyed watching it! From the get-go I was already hooked on the storyline, and began to enjoy various different characters, their backstories, and the relationships between them. I typically sleep early yet I found myself watching episode after episode after episode. It was highly engaging and there was never a dull moment. I loved season one and two and can't wait for season three. I highly recommend this anime.

Kaubôi bibappu: Cowboy Bebop
(1998)

Way overhyped
I understand that this is a classic, but honestly I feel like some people ONLY like it because it's a classic, and are just hopping on the bandwagon. Like there was NO SOLID PLOT LINE, no character developments, and the relationships between the Bebop crew were awful, and could've been developed so much more. I mean, in the last episode we got to see a much more empathetic side of Faye which is nice, but this was limited. They were also bounty hunters yet THEY BARELY CAUGHT ANY BOUNTIES! Also, the relationship between Spike and Julia- I feel like the creators were trying to make it seem like a sad unattainable love story blah blah blah; it fell flat. I didn't find myself feeling any emotions whatsoever. And it's even generous of me giving this anime 5 stars because it got to the point where I was on episode 9, and I couldn't even be bothered to watch it anymore. I was persuaded to continue by people telling me "oh it gets better!". I tried to be open-minded, but it didn't, and now I want three days of my life back.

In my time watching anime, I've found that the best ones are the ones where at the end of the series you feel a sort of way- sometimes it's unexplainable, others highly emotional. I got none of that from this series. I do not recommended at all. UPDATE: Looking back at this review I think I was a bit too harsh. I was writing it just after I had finished the show, and was disappointed to find an anime that had been put on so high a pedestal not exactly fitting my hopes. Personally now I believe it is up to you whether or not you want to watch it; but I do stand by my point that this anime just misses out on the emotive reaction I was hoping for when I began watching.

Nana
(2006)

The ending destroyed EVERYTHING
Even though this show had drama from the beginning to end (which I thoroughly enjoyed) I was so disappointed with the ending. How could a shows ending be abandoned in the way 'Nana' was? We had no clue where the hell Nana was to the point where when the episode finished, I went to find the next one only to find that it was THE LAST ONE. It was so great and I finished it so quickly but just that last episode.. how could you not explain why one of the major characters wasn't there?? Overall a great show full of drama and also hilariously funny BUT the ending severely ruined it for me.

Kimi no na wa.
(2016)

A stunning work of art, in both animation and storyline
This has become one of my favourite anime ever. Not only was the storyline AMAZING and made me cry, but the detail into the animation itself is beautiful. I admit that I was skeptical at first, but it wasn't long into the movie where I had really gotten into it. There's also a lot of information to take in, so I would suggest when watching you pay full attention so you don't miss anything (not that you'd want to). I was also very pleased with the ending. I'm not going to spoil anything, but i know how much a bad ending can ruin an entire film, so I'll just say that you'll be satisfied. I 100% recommend this film, but I would warn you, if you're emotional like me you probably may want to keep some tissues nearby (I cried like a baby).
