The action was just that - non stop action. The plot - limp. But my main issue - I'm getting so very tired of trying to find a single british or american action movies without russians as the mad badguys. Stigmatizing 150million people this way is both dangerous, unfair and utterly stupid.

Only reason I kept watching, was that i had spent two seasons and one episode following the painfully irritating, yet cleverly plotted background story ( the childrens home tragedy). Two almost unbearable flaws destroys this series. 1) THe pace. When some on is asked a question, they always wait 5 seconds to reply. Also, there ar hours and hours of stills of pensive actors thinking nothing. DCI Mathias nevere answers questions - seems to be there just to drag out a 20 minute episode into 90 minutes. 2) THe constant, loud and misplaced background "music" supposedly put there to match the dreariness of the Welch coastline. THIS IS REALLY, REALLY BAD! Stay clear or watch ypur blood pressure.

Season 1 was good enough for me to watch season 2. And to be fair: The actors and the camera crew all did nicely through the second season. The same cannot be said for the writers and the direction. Episode 1 showed some promise, but I should have seen the signs already there. Episodes 2-6 were incredibly sluggish, switching mindlessly from scene to scene, leaping out conclusions and letting the police whirr around like headless chicken, while we were presented with seemingly endless hesitation each time a stupid question was posed. Episode 7-8 tried to rake it all together, and were so full of flaws, stupidity and lack of credibility that I feel like suing the writers and directors. This has been almost 8 hours I will never get back. STAY CLEAR!
