The Angry Birds Movie
(2016)

Funny and relatable
I've never played or cared about Angry Birds before, but I still decided to try this movie. And I'm quite glad I did, for it is a lot better than I expected. It is silly and hilarious but it still has a decent plot, moral, and some emotion. The animation is very lively and colorful.

The main character is a grumpy bird called Red whom I'm sure many people would find relatable. Life just doesn't treat him well and so he acts rather angry, leading others to believe he's a terrible bird when all he wants is some peace. The other characters besides Red are likable too and all have their own unique personalities.

Most of the gags in the movie didn't make me laugh out loud, but that's okay because there was still plenty of comedy to enjoy and most of it made me laugh on the inside. There were many adult jokes but most of them weren't blatant enough to be much of a worry if there's a young kid watching. The gross-out humor was distasteful of course but there wasn't as much of it as I thought there'd be; I expected more fart jokes but thankfully there weren't. The puke joke was unappealing but luckily it was only a few seconds; the pee joke is what really bothered me because it was really awkward and lasted way too long.

There are some heart-warming moments and character revelations throughout the movie, particularly near the end, but I shan't be specific to avoid spoilers. The movie mostly focuses on making viewers laugh but there are still other reasons to watch it, such as a nice moral about having faith in yourself and trusting yourself to do the right thing. Anyone who knows Angry Birds could have predicted the plot, and the moral's been done before, but it's still an enjoyable watch.

Go Jetters
(2015)

Best preschooler show
Go Jetters is the best preschooler show out there because of its lovable characters, great humor, and engaging way of teaching kids about the world. Other shows for the same age group tend to have no appealing humor but this show is entertaining enough for those above the target demographic to watch.

The show is about four explorers called the Go Jetters who travel the world with their disco-loving unicorn mentor, Ubercorn. Ubercorn tells 3 facts about the landmark they visit in each episode In just about every episode, a villain called Grandmaster Glitch causes a problem the Go Jetters have to solve.

It's interesting for a toddlers' show to have a villain for a change, and he's more funny than menacing, so he won't scare little kids at all. The animation is very good and the educational parts aren't condescending.

The show is excellent for getting young children interested in the world around them and is even good for the whole family to watch. Sometimes, the facts Ubercorn tells might even surprise older members of the family. Everybody has got to love Ubercorn. He's a very hilarious and irresistible character.

The beginning and set-up of each episode is usually great. But sometimes the section of each episode where the Go Jetters are trying to stop Glitch drag out a bit. However, I am still giving this a 10 because it's still the most flawless kid's show I've seen and maybe those parts are more interesting for young kids.

Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever
(2014)

Decent enough for a comedy
This movie is tough to review. It's a low-budget TV movie based on a cat from internet memes, so you can't expect it to be good. However, compared to many other comedies, I wouldn't say it's bad, either. 6 stars seems low but 7 stars seems too high, so I leaned towards 6 stars.

In this movie you can expect to find a story about a young, introverted girl who wishes for a friend and ends up meeting Grumpy Cat and can understand her speech. Together they try to save the pet shop Grumpy Cat comes from. Grumpy Cat has a feminine though bored and glum voice, and her pessimistic and sarcastic remarks appear throughout the movie. Her bitter attitude is surprisingly amusing and she even makes remarks about the movie's low budget, so at least the movie producers point out their own flaws. I see a lot of people complaining that Grumpy Cat had a girl's voice but this is because Grumpy Cat in real life is a girl.

The movie was of cringe-worthy acting and editing but somehow it was also very amusing and the cat is super cute. It's not something you should take too seriously; the film itself practically wants you to laugh at how bad it is. There are even references to other cat memes. The movie is to make you laugh and nothing more; it doesn't try to impress you and that is okay. There is, however, a nice message or two in the movie. I expect cat lovers will enjoy watching this just to see how adorable Grumpy Cat is on film.

There are a few adult jokes in the movie but I think it's okay for kids for the most part, especially because of the talking animals. I think the main girl would be relatable to many tweens.

So in all, don't expect much if you plan on watching the movie but if you watch it with a light attitude you may get many smiles and laughs out of it.

Shaun the Sheep Movie
(2015)

Surprisingly hilarious
I never expected to enjoy this movie so much but it is extremely funny with very emotional parts and a fantastic ending as well. The main moral in this movie is to not take things for granted because you never know how much something means to you until it's gone. And in this case, the sheep try to get the Farmer back after a series of mishaps causes them to end up in the big city.

There is little to no dialogue so most of the humor is visual instead of puns and comebacks which some movies rely on. I cannot stress this enough... it is hilarious. There are tons of funny things all throughout the movie. There are a couple of adult jokes which is rather awkward considering that Shaun the Sheep is a show on ABC for Kids, and some humor is obnoxious, but almost everything besides that made me burst out laughing.

The city looks amazing and there is more detail in this movie than in the cartoon. The sheep are fluffier, their eyes are shinier, and everything looks more realistic. The claymation is very smooth and looks like CGI. The plot is good enough for a movie like this and gives a lot more depth to the characters from the show. There are a couple of new characters, too.

Even if you don't like the show I recommend this if you want to watch something exceedingly funny and charming with impressive claymation and some heart.
