Les Girls
(1957)

beautiful talented Mitzi
I don't agree that Kay Kendall stole this film, it was after all an MGM musical, don't get me wrong Kay was a beautiful talented actress, and gave a sparkling performance, but this was a musical and Mitzi Gaynor as usual left everyone standing, very talented lady very wasted in Hollywood, people on here say she was not as good as cyd Charisse, Mitzi had something cyd never had "personality" I saw cyd at the London paladium live and she was awful, I saw Mitzi's knockout Vegas act, chalk and cheese, also Leslie Caron was supposed to have turned this role down, I am glad she did, very overrated. the more people see Mitzi Gaynor roles now the more they appreciate what a great talent she was (is), she stole there's no business like show-business, and was great with frank Sinatra in the joker is wild, totally wasted in Hollywood, should have been in much more, but she went on to become one of America's greatest performers, in shows and night clubs, also her great TV shows, which are shortly to be released on DVD, thanks for reading, Gloria

The I Don't Care Girl
(1953)

release full version of I don't care girl
perhaps now twentieth century fox are at last releasing Mitzi's bloodhounds of Broadway, they might set about putting out the full version of the I don't care girl, it would be great, although it was a silly plot and not at all true to the life of Eva Tangway, and Mitzi leading men did not help her at all, Mitzi 's fabulous dance numbers showed why she was completely wasted in Hollywood, would love this film to be released with all the great production no's that were cut, also great to see Mitzi's TV shows being released on DVD, why do these things take so long? another great mitzi film although it was pure sinatra, not released is the great film the joker is wild, lets hope that one is released too

For Love or Money
(1963)

beautiful mitzi
this was Mitzi Gaynor's last film, and I wonder why (probably because she was earning millions in the Nevada night clubs where she was arguably the No 1 entertainer, certainly the no 1 female entertainer) she should have gone on to make more films as she had blossomed into a very beautiful sophisticated actress, and had learn ed how to act and not be too over the top as she had tended to be in some of her earlier films, there was a lot of musicals made in the sixties and seventies that were miscast and box office flops, if only someone had had the vision and casted her in some of these films, they would have been unforgettable instead of forgettable, she did go on to have a fabulous career in show business, and is one of the all time greats. LOOK OUT FOR MITZI'S new box set of 8 of TV shows, that she is working on at the moment, also look out for her new web site which is coming shortly. Bloodhounds of Broadway
(1952)

fabulous Mitzi
Mitzi is knockout in this movie, and shows what a wasted talent she was in Hollywood, every movie Mitzi appeared in, "she shined like a rare talent", but unfortunately at the wrong studio, she was great in The Joker is Wild with Frank Sinatra, which I consider to be his best film, and was one of the best casted films ever, also she was great in Les Girls and stole the show, in There's no Business like Show business she was an absolute knockout and her part was built up as it became apparent the work she was doing was so good, even though during the making of the film the studio sacked her, but they asked her back four years later to star in one of the greatest musicals of all time "South Pacific" which turned out to be a blockbuster, she later went on to be probably one of the greatest entertainers (certainly the greatest female entertainer) in Las Vegas and other cities, where she always got knockout reviews with sold out performances.look out for this movie being at last released on DVD

The Joker Is Wild
(1957)

Frank at his best
This was frank Sinatra's best ever film and performance, but does not seem to get the publicity of some of his other musical films, like pal joey, high society, etc, even in franks biographies there is very little mentioned, also all thru the film, the theme of "chigaco" (which seemed to be joey lewis's theme song,) and yet frank did not sing it in the film, when the single record of "all he way" was released "chicago" was the b side, was it cut because the film was too long? I have read that the fabulous Mitzi Gaynor did a great dance to frank singing "chigaco" does anyone know if this is true, also does anyone know if the full uncut version is out there somewhere. On the film frank gave a solid performance, and I read somewhere that he cast the film, if he did he had immaculate taste.
