This Town
(2024)

Perfect Casting, fabulous story and great tunes
This just hits the spot. There was such edginess at that time in the 70's/80's, inequality, racism, skinheads, the awful troubles in Ireland, industrial strife and the general failing of society to look after people that needed help. 'This Town' picks bits of that and melts it together in a glorious understanding of it all, with a great core story, fabulous tunes and poetry from the lead actor. He stood so tall he made me feel proud to be British. Please give us more of this raw, untamed, shout out feel good of life. There are stories still to be told. A wonderful TV show. Rock on BBC, you can make great drama.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive

Knew nothing about F1. Now I want to know everything
This is brilliant stuff. Short bytes of viewing (unless you binge). The back story to F1 is fascinating, exciting, shocking and thoroughly EPIC tv watching. I am a total convert.

Rules of the Game

Middle of the road tosh.
So boring. Storyline is really pathetic and obvious from the start. Please don't waste your time.

The BBC really need to get a grip, and it goes without saying that the way of financing this tosh is so antiquated. However there are many people in Europe who would pay to watch BBC iPlayer, but guess what, they can't! Where is the sense in that?

Close to Me

Trash
Don't be fooled this is high level garbage. Hastings looks great and is great. Lovely house but the hallway was awful for a house that size. These were the highlights.

Epic WW11 movie with some bad shooting
This is a great film but I found it slightly silly that the main character didn't use his grenades (that were mentioned earlier in the plot) when he came into a situation where he obviously should have, and the pursuing Germans really were rubbish shots.
