Causeway
(2022)

Boring
I dont understand why Hollywood picks movies like this and try and make them great. The acting was ok. The script was boring and been done so much. Give me a break. It's like after last years Osacar fiasco they are playing it safe this year. The Fablemens, Causeway, all pretty dull and safe. These all could have been TV movie. I try and watch all the Oscar nominated movies but I actually fell asleep watching Causeway. Jennifer did a good job acting. Brian Tyree Henry was okay. He is good character actor, but nothing to write home about. Oscar nominee? I think not. But we'll see in February maybe we'll get surprised like last year.

Thor: Love and Thunder
(2022)

Don't waste your time.
Very disappointed in this movie. It was so silly. The comedy was horrible. I left the theater after watching for 30 minutes. Could not suffer through anymore. Some people will see it anyway. They have time and money to waste. I think I'll wait for it to come to streaming and smoke a joint.

Evil Eye
(2020)

Loved this Movie
The movie kept you guessing was he or wasn't he. The Mom is a favorite actress of mine. The cinematography was excellent. Why people people didn't like this movie is a mystery to me. I Loved the ending. Will there be and Evil Eye 2?

The House Next Door
(2021)

A 1 Star Movie
I would have given it 1 star. But I did chuckle a couple of times. Probably would be hilarious if you are high. A lot of old time black stars were in it including the original "Candyman"

Angry, White and American
(2017)

Hit the Nail on the Head
I think it was very informative, although it didn't reveal anything I didn't already know. FEAR is was moving across the country. North,South, East and West. White America is so afraid of becoming a minority. And it will happen within the next 20-30 years. They are afraid they will be treated the same way they treated other minorities and that's not going to happen.

Check out Jane Elliott's videos for a true look at White America.

The Talk
(2010)

Much more watchable
Glad S. O. Is gone. Never liked M. O. On the show now I find myself watching it much more.

The United States vs. Billie Holiday
(2021)

RAW
This version is so much more like the way I pictured Lady Day. Miss Day did an excellent job. This was raw and much better then the sugar coated Motown version. I would have given it 10 stars but it seemed very disjointed in the beginning.

Sylvie's Love
(2020)

Beautiful Love Story
So refreshing to see a beautiful love story being told without all the nudity and "humping". When you have a good story line and good dialogue you don't need all the tousling in the sheets to get you point across. You know they were intimate and had extraordinary sex because she got pregnant. The music, the time period and street sets were all so realistic. It made me nostalgic and reminded me of when movies were movies. Will definitely be watching it more than once.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey
(2020)

"A Christmas Treat"
A wonderful and delightful treat for the eyes and ears. I'm definitely adding it to the movies I watch every Christmas, ie; A Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life. To name a few.

Black Privilege
(2019)

Very Bad
Very shallow dialog. Poor acting. Could not finish watching it was so bad.

Family Reunion
(2019)

Jury Still Out
When I first watched Blackish I felt the same as I did watching Family Reunion. It was ok. I really hated the title "Blackish". But after many episodes the acting got better and it's one of my favorites now. I think the same will happen with this series. If you keeps watching you'll see the actors become better as the get use to working with each other. In comedies timing is everything and you can see the improvement from the 1st episode and episode 5 & 6. I'm enjoying the series hope they get to do a second season. One question? Who are the people at the end of each episode? The dedications.
