Emily in Paris
(2020)

So much fun! Even my husband loves it!
I'm totally perplexed by all the bad reviews. This is one of my favorite shows. If you're expecting it to be based on reality then you just aren't getting it. It's supposed to be ridiculous and over the top, and it's supposed to be a dramatic, funny train wreck. When I watched the first season my husband just being in the room got totally sucked into it. He thinks it's brilliant and his family is part French. He's also a writer by profession and we both agree it's amazing how much story they can tell in 30 mins when so many shows can go an hour or more and not move the story along at all. If you want something fun, witty and a bit crazy this will hit the spot.

For those that find offense in this show that's meant to be ridiculous means you're taking life way too seriously and you might need to chill out a bit. If it's not your kind of humor, fine move on, but don't go knocking it and ruining it for all those that find the joy in it because it's not based in strict reality for you. You should probably avoid Fantasy, Sci-fi, ROM-com, adventure or things like Telenovelas too at the very least, I'm sure there's more.

There's very few lighthearted shows that are just fun to watch, this is one of them. And I really hope it gets at least one more season to close out the storyline.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
(2022)

Slow start but episodes 3 got me
I think people are rating too soon. Yes it's a slow start in the first two episodes, but I've found most of the shows I end up loving are slow to start as they are building stories and characters. Could it have been done better in the first two episodes, yes, but episode three had me totally into the story. Maybe not a 10, and too soon to tell for sure, but I'm enjoying it and want to counteract all the people who rated it so low because they have to be entertained with action and movement in 30 secs or they move on. It would do us well to learn to slow down and give our brains a break from swiping and needing instant gratification to call something good. All I'll say is give it a chance.

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window
(2022)

Dark and over the top ridiculous
If you try watching this without understanding it's a parody you're going to be like truly WTF. Once I understood that I saw how they took the usual and made it over the top ridiculous, but they did it in a very dark way. I definitely didn't laugh but I did find the amusement in the ridiculousness. I probably would have given it one star more if I didn't hate the ending so much. I mean it ultimately fits in with the rest of the absurdity but I think they could have found a better way to do it It's nothing l love or would watch again, but it's ok for a day you just need something to binge.

The Blacklist: Balthazar 'Bino' Baker (No. 129)
(2021)
Episode 19, Season 8

Another useless episode
Just another poorly acted, poorly written, useless chase episode that doesn't move the story forward at all.

I'm pretty much over the show at this point. Just want the "big" secret truth reveled that's been dragged out for wayyy too many years and be done with it. Not even sure I'm going to bother with it next season. Time to look for new shows to watch. They've failed this show.

The Blacklist: Misère
(2021)
Episode 14, Season 8

Waste of an hour and an episode
What a complete waste. Entirely boring and the only thing you get out of it is hating Elizabeth even more. But seriously the episode should have started where it ended...you literally end the episode 2mins after the end of the last episode. Everything else is one of those stupid recap episodes. You could literally not watch it and not miss a thing. From best episode to worst, I hope the writers and producers start paying attention to the ratings and reviews. Has such great possibilities as a show but not with Elizabeth in it, not anymore.

The Blacklist: Anne
(2021)
Episode 13, Season 8

Favorite episode possibly ever
This episode was our favorite. We thoroughly enjoyed it, didn't check our phones or the clock once. Agree with all the others that say Raymond and Dembe hold the story all on their own. Didn't miss or even notice all the others characters were missing. The only thing I hated was the last 10secs when Elizabeth reappears. Made me literally go ugh!!! Now we have to deal with her again 🤦‍♀️ I'm truly hoping her story and part of this ends soon. I prefer the show without her so very much! If there were more episodes like tonight I'd actually be excited each week to watch the show, instead of watching it because it's ok and I want something to watch, which is what it's been the last few years.

The Blacklist: The Cyranoid (No. 35)
(2021)
Episode 9, Season 8

Ugh
Last weeks episode was one of the most enjoyable in a while. Totally enjoyed not having Keen in the mix, show is better without her at this point. This episode was one of the worst in the whole series. Weird, confusing, boring and just ugh. Love Reddington, beyond over Liz. Reveal the stupid thing we've been waiting on for years, then let Liz go and let us enjoy the show with just Reddington. It would be so much better!

Altered Carbon
(2018)

What Happened?
Edited additional at end:

First season was awesome! 9-10 stars

Second season WTF?! Same world but even though I like the guy that plays Takashi in Avengers he just doesn't make the cut for Takashi. He's missing the tortured soul brooding and Takashi way of being so it doesn't feel like the same character and just ruins the storyline. Also feels like a different director and possibly writers. It's not really season 2 but a whole new story. Nothing against the actor, he's a great actor but the casting is just totally off for jiving with the first season. Totally bummed out!!

So after just finishing season 2, I have to admit the story is still awesome. It took a while but halfway through season 2 the story got good enough you stopped thinking about the bad casting. I never did end up liking the guy they chose for Takashi for season 2, it would have been much better if the actors for Carrera and Takashi had changed roles. That being said, I'm really hoping they'll be a season 3 with a better actor for playing Takashi. 🤞
