This Means War
(2012)

Enjoyable ride
Lots of action, lots of comedy, and a very capable cast. The movie flowed pretty well and all of the funnier scenes were not in the trailer. You go in knowing the entire plot, but it doesn't matter because the movie has such a great flow, you forget you know where it's going.

The characters were really well developed, and no one was a bad guy. This is the place where the movie lost it's gloss a bit. You like Tuck, and you like FDR. As a girl, either one of them is a fantastic choice, and you know you'll get the happily ever after. However, one guy obviously gets the girl in the end(FDR). So we as an audience don't feel too badly for Tuck, he gets the ex-wife back.

Unfortunately, though, that only happens because she sees him on TV and realizes he's a secret agent. Had they thrown in a line earlier about her not trusting him because he travels far too much for a travel agent, as opposed to her just mentioning that he travels a lot for a travel agent, then it wouldn't have appeared as if she only wanted him back because he was cool.

Overall, worth your 10 bucks to see it in the theater on a big screen.

The Bounty Hunter
(2010)

An old fashioned adventure-honest unbiased review!
This is not Oscar worthy or modern action. What it is: reminiscent of the Smoky and The Bandit or a 1960's adventure/comedy movie. Glamorous, pretty, stylish. There are no painful embarrassing moments to suffer through. You have action and a tiny bit of suspense-a twist where you are not sure who is guilty and who is not. There's a bit of bickering between the main characters to laugh at, and action for the guys. I think the reviews I've seen are colored by Aniston hate and a lot of people used to high tech action flicks. This is more of a Doris Day ,young Sally Field, young James Garner type of movie, pretty innocent and just made to entertain. If you are looking for something to spend 2 hours blowing you out of your seat, or blatantly sexy, this isn't for you. If you want just a nice simple pain free romance with some action for date night, then this will fit the bill.

Harper Valley P.T.A.
(1981)

Cheesy, but still has its moments!
This is a movie from childhood I remembered fondly enough I had to Netflix it. Harper Valley's PTA decides that widowed door to door makeup saleswoman Stella Johnson is not proper enough for the image the school wishes parents to project. She dresses too sexy and has a social life*gasp*. The PTA sends home a nasty condescending letter via Stella's daughter and of course Stella's upset-which causes her to begin a mission to expose the towns hypocrisy. The hi-jinks involved exposing the PTA are pretty seventh grade, but this was the same era that produced the Duke boys wreaking havoc on Hazzard-actually, this movie has a very similar feel to the Dukes Of Hazzard. This day and age there are still people who frown upon single mothers being beautiful and sexy so I suppose it could still get a laugh or two.
