Chopper
(2000)

CHOPPER - Australian Icon
Chopper is a household name now, just as Ned Kelly, and the film is brilliant.!! Only problem i have is i beg you all to go and read his books, it'll explain so much and you'll totally understand whats really going' on, grab the first 4!! I've met Chopper twice now on his tour, and his shows are funny as hell, and gross. But back to the movie....what can i say that hasn't been said, Eric Bana plays him brilliant but in a more comical way, Simon Lyndon done an excellent job and with the budget the filmmakers got they done it turned out great.

I know all about Chopper and cant help but wish for certain things they should have added for the film every time i watch it, or tell the person next to me how things happened and what didn't happen. But once i see past that all, Chopper is one of the best made and well acted movie's in Australia and I'm proud of it!!!

10/10 hey Keithy!!!

Blackrock
(1997)

Brilliant Aussie film, CLASSIC!!!!
Blackrock should go down as one of the best Aussie films around. I remember when it came out in 97' n' i thought it was the coolest movie, n' disturbing . I saw the play in High school at the Bogga Road Jail in 98'too.

The acting is great from all the cast, especially Simon Lyndon, one of his best performances and the filming is shot so well. I listen to the soundtrack all the time, its awesome. Songs from The Cruel Sea, Sidewinder, Rebeca's Empire, Beast of Burben and The Cranberry's, they set the time and place.

This film would get pretty disturbing for some viewer's but stuff like this does happen. But i think it's a great film, go check it out!! David Field has a small roll in this but brilliant acting, if your an Aussie n' you have'nt seen it, GET IT NOW!!! 9/10

The Postcard Bandit
(2003)

Aussie Classic!!!
Straight up, The Postcard Bandit is brilliant, directed n' shot so well and acting is top form. Only thing with true story's is that i wish they would keep it real as much as they could for legend sake, they don't go off the rails to much here but as other reviewers have noted, the truth is a little stretched.

Putting that aside, this movie is classic, a true Aussie flick that should have gotton more than just a TV airing, but if you like the slick stubby wearin' yobbo laugh's then this is it. The score contains mainly of Australian singer/songwriter James Rayne and flows this film very smoothly as we travel with Abbot and crew across our red land on his mission robbin' banks. Australia needs more movies like this, n' one thing we do love is our outlaws. Tasma Walton by the way is another good reason to check this one out!!! She rocks!!

Right up there with Chopper Two Hands and, Dirty Deeds.

Severed
(2005)

Tension scale through the roof!!! A MUST!
The Cover looks creepy itself, and the title fits well. I caught this at a mates house and had no idea this was a zombie flick 'till a scene just comes outta nowhere n' i was instantly glued to it...this one just happens to severed well, and keeps you hangin' real good!! I love zombie films and this one is so intense, camera shots are done real well here to create what they have and it keeps you griping all the time.Severed does stand out from other zombie movie like that, you'll have to see for your self. (Only wished for alittle more establishing shots in some scenes but anyway....) The storyline is fresh and different for the genre but expected a little more towards the end ,but i do love how it leaves you off so i just cant bloody win, but you can count that the film-making here is top stuff and is worth it itself!! I didn't get into the movie...it pulled me in!!!
