Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
(2018)

Such a mess
Hey! Lets take a horrible script and throw tons of money at it! Let's ride this bloated corpse of a franchise all the way to the bank! You like clandestine dinosaur auctions? We've got you covered. You like Dinosaur blood transfusions? Bam! And apparently Chris Pratt is dinosaur proof. And superhuman. This script is barely held together at the seams. A real shambolic mess. I'm ashamed of the people that wrote this mess of a movie and with myself for watching as much as I did.

Blended
(2014)

Really?
I do genuinely like some of Sandler's films. But this is a new low. I'm convinced Sandler has it in his contract to only makes movies set in places he wants to vacation in. This is a by the numbers Sandler film and not in a good way. The premise of this movie is tenuous at best. Sandler feels like he's phoning in his performance and the jokes are really tired and lame. There is even a Steve Buscemi look a like in one scene probably because Steve read the script and did a hard pass. Terry Crews is the only bright spot in the film. Watch with your kids or if no kids don't even bother.

Captain Marvel
(2019)

Captain Meh
I'm not a comic book fan so I'm not emotionally invested in the character or backstory. That being said, I found this movie to be poorly paced and downright boring at times. Much too much background story. Bri Larson's portrayal of Captain Marvel was a little too aloof and dry for my tastes. Almost glib. I don't think she was the right choice for the role. Sam Jackson was great as always. Was cool to see him as a mid level SHIELD field agent. A few running jokes through the film got a little tired and weren't that funny. Didn't leave the theater thinking I saw anything special. Never felt invested in any of the characters. I definitely wouldn't go to see a sequel unless the trailer completely blew me away.

Fences
(2016)

Overrated
This is like watching people who are really good at their job. Unfortunately, that job is sorting widgets. The dialogue pacing is way off. Too slick and too snappy. The first 10 minutes of the movie made my head spin with the dialogue. I literally could not remember anything of the dialogue from the first ten minutes later in the movie. I think they forgot this is a movie and not a play. Overacting and some poor acting abounds. Get the feeling the director failed to reign in Denzel.

9JKL
(2017)

Wretched....
Poor acting, tired plot lines, terrible writing, and canned laughter. Such a shame with a good cast like this. Spoiler alert. Guy moves back to hometown after his acting career in LA implodes and moves into the apartment in between his brother and parents. Parents and brother meddle in his private life. Hilarity ensues. Note sarcasm. If this is your deal this is for you. If not avoid like the plague.

Kevin Can Wait
(2016)

Everything about this show is a lie.
This show is a sham. The opening theme song states "I'm not your ordinary guy!" He is as ordinary as ordinary gets. The original premise of the show was to be about Kevin Jame's character's retirement from the police force. So what do they do after the first season? Kill off his wife, who was the only bright point on the show, bring back his former King of Queens co-star Leah Remini, and Kevin goes back to work. Completely veering from the original premise. They are trying to recreate King of Queens with another name. Period. Leah Remini looks tired and uninterested, Kevin James falls back on his tired physical comedy, and the supporting cast of friends and family just don't have what it takes to help propel the show forward. They have definitely lost the plot. Canned as canned gets.

Get Out
(2017)

Wow is this movie racist. And not good.
This movie is supposed to be a suspense film? It spends more time making white people look like the devil than it does issuing any real suspense or terror. Everything can be seen coming a mile away. A lady stirs her tea in front of you and your hypnotized? Really? White people get together to hold secret auctions of black people? A brain surgeon and psychiatrist just happen to be married so they can wreak their havoc on black people? I didn't get creeped out or scared the entire movie. Kind of boring actually. Literally no real scares in this movie. I don't know what they were going for here but it just doesn't work. Nothing meshed.
