Daytime Divas
(2017)

Refreshing, Comical and Suspenseful!
I absolutely love this show I was a little worried being that it was on VH1 and sometimes the casting is hit or miss but honestly the casting and production is as close to perfection as you can get. I was a bit weary on the first episode because it was so fast paced it was a little difficult to keep up but I had to remember that this is a representation of Daytime TV and which is fast paced and then it became more intriguing because it put me in this kind of scripted reality TV mindset and I wasn't so overwhelmed after that. Episode 2 made it even better we're getting background info to keep up with the present yet there's still a lot of mystery behind Maxine played by Vanessa Williams who is phenomenal so happy to see that flawless woman back on my screen and it touches on the other characters as well. It's also extremely funny and it touches on important and personal issues that we face everyday with our family, friends and coworkers and is relatable regardless of your background I hope it continues to do well and gets picked up for another season. Not only is the writing grand but the actresses all hold their own and bring something unique to the table while it's clear that Vanessa Williams is the star of the show the burden of carrying the show doesn't fall solely on her shoulders all of these ladies do a great job of moving the show along and I am just as interested in the story lines of their characters as I am Vanessa's. Well done VH1, I'm thoroughly surprised that not only did you recognize a gem but that you also properly executed take notes TNTClaws this is everything that you tried to be but failed miserably! Congratulations Vanessa Williams, Tichina Arnold, Chloe Bridges, Camille Guaty and Fiona Gubelmann on the success of the show you're truly talented actresses and a true representation of a diverse cast, this show is comical yet suspenseful I can't wait to see more!

Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life
(2017)

Late and Pointless
This documentary is 6 years too late I'm going to break it up into parts and add a little background info. Chris Brown and his team are highly confusing and that's putting it mildly the only thing this documentary does is give a bit of background info on his life that honestly if you truly cared to know you could piece together easily. So here we go.

1: Chris Brown talks about his abusive stepfather in depth how he was abusive and crazy to the point that he shot himself in the head yet he didn't die which made him even more psychotic and further traumatized Chris.

2. Chris Brown talks about the 09 incident with Robyn Fenty aka Rihanna and also gives us background info on how they met and also let us know that they were hitting and abusing one another beforehand because of Browns infidelity which makes sense they were both teenagers and both came from similar backgrounds of abuse in the home. He talks about how his honesty led to Rihanna physically abusing him she also initiated what happened that night and that being the first time he struck her with a closed fist, he had slapped her back and restrained her in previous altercations and they would talk about it afterwards vowing to never hit each other again yet lied to the whole world about her involvement.

3. He talks about the incident on GMA with Robin and how he didn't throw a chair through the window he punched the window out of frustration, his time in jail and he briefly talks about his "relationship" with karrueche tran and about his daughter Royalty. -The end.

Here's why I state it's pointless and too late the time for Chris Brown to defend and tell his side of the story has long since passed though its true Rihanna gave her blessing for him to tell his side of the story it's too late he should've held her accountable then but no he allowed her to lie to everyone and make us believe that she was blameless and not hitting him as well for reasons why I don't know and now with his recent ex gf ms. tran accusing him of the same thing which is abuse was granted a restraining order because he chose not to show up and defend himself and I highly doubt that he will file an appeal, a defamation lawsuit, a gag order and his own restraining order because it seems to me that Chris Brown thinks that being a man is about being macho and he's too ashamed to admit that women have hurt him whether it be physically or emotionally, he hasn't learned anything from his past decisions and I doubt he ever will. He is a creature of habit and a victim of circumstance it's been 6+ years and he's still in the same place mentally and emotionally smh.

In conclusion I would've actually liked to know the real Chris Brown and find out what his thought process is when it comes to defending himself and overall life decisions, he's a really charismatic, really talented, lovable guy I can tell he's not a psychotic or a bad person and that he really doesn't want to be hated by people but he's not making wise decisions he's not learned and the only thing this documentary shows is why he is the way he is now (bitter and angry) and sadly I don't know if he'll ever be that 16-19 year old guy (personality wise) that we once knew that seemed like the real Chris Brown idk who this impostor is but I hope he disappears soon. Perhaps we will have to wait for Welcome to My Life 2 to see that.

Beauty and the Beast
(2017)

Yes We Wanted This BUT We Didn't WANT THIS!
I can't even put into words how disappointed I was about this movie, I knew it was going to be disappointed when I first seen the previews the CGI was jaw dropping and I don't mean that in a good way and the fact that Emma Watson was cast to play the lovely Belle was laughable but still I had hope because Beauty and the Beast is by far my favorite Disney Movie, it's in my top 5. The main issue I had with this film aside from the casting was the story tale itself. Disney for some reason decided to combined the old Folklore with their Disney version of how the beast became the beast and it truly made no sense because they left out key details in both.

Some Backstory: In the old Folklore of Beauty and the Beast, Belle's father was a merchant who had 3 sons and 3 daughters the youngest being Belle, Belle was loved by her brothers and her father but her two sisters despised her. One day the merchant asked his girls what they wanted him to bring back the two sisters said money and jewelry but Belle only requested a single Rose. Which brings us to how the father met the beast just like in the movie the beast kept himself hidden and he fed the father and let him relax in his chair and rest and as the father was leaving he noticed the rose garden remembered Belle's request and picked off a rose which enraged the beast and so he showed himself and basically told the father that he was taking advantage of his kindness which is why he became the beasts prisoner but he did allow him to go home to say goodbye to his family which brings us to how Belle decided to trade places with her father which imprisoned him in the place the brothers and the fathers profusely rejected the idea and were actually going to slay the beast but Belle wouldn't allow them to do that and instead took her fathers place which made the brothers and father sad but the sisters were thrilled. The beast and Belle got along quite fine and developed trust and love for each other and he actually allowed her to go back home to see her family as long as she wasn't gone more than 3 days, well leave it to the bitter sisters to put a stop to this because they wanted Belle dead/ locked away with the beast so they convinced Belle to stay longer hoping that this would set the beast off it took a bit of persuading and Belle stayed for a week and the beast grew weak and Belle could sense that something was wrong so she rushed back to the beast who was basically dying and she was crying over him and professing her love, she kisses him and the beast turns into a prince they get married the brothers and father rejoice and the evil bitter sisters well Belle turns them into the stone - The End.

That's how the Folklore goes so as you can see aside from a few key parts Disney took bits and pieces and meshed it up with the animated tale and they added a whole new element which was Belle's mother and the magic book that takes them to any point and time in the world which was just stupid and unnecessary, we could all assume that Belle's mother was dead we didn't need to know what she died of anyone could've guessed small pox or even chlamydia I mean hello they didn't have medicine people were dying from the common cold for Christ sake it was just stupid and nobody cares! This live action remake was absolutely dreadful and who was the ugly dude that played the part of Gaston? What about him was rugged or handsome he looked like a prissy prep school boy if you ask me! Even the enchanted castle and characters were lackluster in this remake it was all around disappointing and they added new songs that nobody knew who does that?! So in the end I'm sure people will watch but as a true fan of beauty and the beast both folklore and animation this live action remake was a let down in a big way.

The Carrie Diaries
(2013)

Better Than SATC
This show is by far better than SATC I would actually love for it to come back and just take on a whole new direction for this Carrie Bradshaw she is completely different from SATC's Carrie Bradshaw and I just wish they would've continued this series it is so excellent, the characters, the friendships, the story lines and the fashion made you really feel as if you were back in the 80s I'm not sure if they'll ever bring this back but if they do I have major ideas of this show!

A Weekend with the Family
(2016)

Racist, Racist and Racist
I only made in 36 minutes before I had enough I don't know how it ends nor do I care to know how this movie ends I have never been more disgusted with a movie in my entire life and I am severely disappointed in the actors and actresses except ms. tran she's said anti-black rhetoric in real life so nothing she does surprises me whether it's in film or in real life. This movie is beyond offensive and the crappy quality of this movie speaks volumes what I don't understand is how they managed to get actors that are so highly respected Wendy Raquel Robinson, Shondrella Avery, Clifton Powell and Dorien Wilson to participate and act in this ratcheted movie! I can't speak for the Asian-Korean community but I don't understand why they would choose someone who is Vietnamese and Black to depict your culture and represent your community this way that's a spit in the face and I basically saying that you all look alike, that the culture is the same and that all blasians look alike! Chris Stokes and Marques Houston were CLEARLY COKED OUT OF THEIR MINDS when they made this movie because the disrespect was there on both fronts! Again I can't speak for the Asian- Korean community but I just felt it was SOOOOOOO DISGUSTING how they put on treasured Korean clothing and began chanting and making a complete mockery out of the culture I was completely fed up after Raquel who played the mother began singing a hymn and the moment I heard the blatant disrespect of African dialect when they all began to CLICK THEIR TONGUES WHILE SPEAKING! This movie is disgusting and every single person who played a part in it should be ashamed, ASHAMED, ASHAMED, ASHAMED! Be wary of these Marques Houston and Chris Stokes collabs and be wary of any movie or TV show involving ms. karrueche tran because please believe if she's in it then you already know it'll be a RACIST DISASTER! I seen this on Netflix, it needs to remove this movie from their roaster immediately all of the comments/ reviews state the same it's racist and offensive to BOTH Asian-korean and black culture! LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE ACTING AND THE WRITING WAS SO BAD SO BAD SO BAD, WHY DID THEY EVEN BOTHER MAKING THIS MOVIE WHY DID THE ACTORS AND ACTRESSES I LOVE AND RESPECT SO MUCH SIGN ON FOR THIS, THIS RACIST POS! I AM FLOORED and WHY DOES KARRUECHE TRAN KEEP GETTING CASTED FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SHE CAN'T ACT! SHE LITERALLY CANNOT ACT AND THEY KEEP PAIRING HER WITH PEOPLE THAT WE ACTUALLY LIKE TO SEE AND THAT CAN ACT! But tran or no tran this movie was terrible and they need to kill it with fire.

Claws
(2017)

Great Concept, Poor Execution
It was overzealous with sex scenes and played on this generations ratchet form of entertainment that we see on reality TV to mask the fact that the writing was lackluster and played on the most overused stereotypes. The actors were not talented aside from Niecy Nash and a couple of the other cast members. The white guys character was just plain offensive and borderline culture appropriating of black men. Karrueche Tran was extremely bland and her acting skills were less than desired out of all the talented Asian actresses Im highly confused as to why Niecy Nash handpicked one who could not act her way out of a paper bag I guess they chose her not for her talent but for the exposure that she'd bring to the show due to being in a high profile love triangle with Chris Brown and Rihanna, the mediocrity on this show is overwhelming even though the concept is amazing. I would've loved to have seen what it could've been if the writing wasn't so crappy and the actresses weren't overacting, it's probably best to not have actresses that can't even bring to life one dimensional characters, play roles that require multi- dimensional characteristics, again all of them were over acting but karrueche was by far the worst and she was in the leading role. It got to the point that it became painful instead of comical to watch. sighs I'm sure TNT will get viewers since ratchet + sex seems to sell these days but I'm sure they'd garner a lot more attention + money if the writing was better and if they scrapped Ms. Tran she is definitely the dead weight on this show and that's not a good look for someone playing a leading role. Best of luck to Rashida Jones & Niecy Nash I hope they recast and add on a few more parts + get better writers if it even makes it past pilot season. But I was officially done with it when I seen the earlier premiere and a lot of others feel the exact same way. On a positive note the cinematography itself and cutting of the scenes was amazing but that's more so to do with TNT production crew, they always put out amazing work if this show makes it past the pilot. I also just discovered that they paid 42 million for 10 episodes and it's only pulling in 1.09million viewers and word is producers have filed for permits to start season 2 that's borderline asinine and arrogantly presumptuous for a show that can't even pull in more than a million views and only ranks #9 on for new scripted series releases this is unbelievable to me and to top it all off Power on STARZ begins next week I don't see how it'll survive past episode 2 that's such an obscene amount to spend and not even pay for top notch actors! Anyways, I hope they recast karrueche trans role to someone else whether it'd be a well known Asian actress or unknown Asian actress matters not to me as long as she is talented and possesses a star quality factor that ms. tran severely lacks. I think adding Monique and Sheryl Underwood to the show would add good comic relief and maybe a young black actress unknown or known would also be a great idea and scrap that offensive culture appropriating character that, that white guy played. Best of luck to Rashida Jones and Niecy Nash I love and respect you both and I hope it works out I truly do but I can't sit through another episode of this trash.
