For All Mankind
(2019)

Please drop the character Aleida
I have enjoyed the series, although every season is a bit slower and uninspired.

In season 4, the new character played by Toby Kebbel is a nice refreshment on the storyline, but some old characters are tedious, specially Aleida Rosales. I know talking about mental health is crucial considering the current circumstances, but doing it with the most annoying character is not the best approach. I hope the show soon drops her character.

Margo Madison and Kelly Aldwin are more interesting roles with less screen time.

Overall, is a good show. Hopefully, the creators close it in season 5th as is getting more predictable and slavish.

Tell Me a Story
(2018)

S1 merely watchable not enough to watch S2
S1 has a very slow pace. The first 4 episodes try to set the tone and context for the different characters but they take too long doing it and you never get to really care about them. The main characters should be flawed but with a redeemed human quality to connect with them as audience, but I don't think they have achieved it. And after episode 6 you already know how everything is going to be twisted to try to shock us but everything is too predictable.

I finished it hoping to be wrong, sadly it was not the case and I lost another 3 hours.

The acting tone is very irregular, I think Kim Cattrall and Paul W are the only ones doing a good job. Daniel Campbell and James Wolk are not credible, over-the-top gesturing.

Book of Love
(2022)

Disappointing
A woman thinks she wrote a book by changing another's one piece, and stating her name is not in the cover because she's a woman... That's a horrendous message. That's not misogyny, that's hypocrisy and pure disregard of the effort of another's person (not matter the genre).

Pure cliché. Don't waste your money.

Todo por Lucy
(2022)

¿En serio Amazon?
Merece cero pero no es posible. Esta es una de las peores series que he visto. Tal vez la peor. Pésimas actuaciones y el guión (no merece ese nombre) es una grosería al intelecto del espectador.

The Card Counter
(2021)

Borefest
3 stars only for Oscar Isaac, it deserves 1. Boring and predictable. People saying they did not expect the ending, have not seen any movie about ex-convicts trying to go back to jail?

Chucky
(2021)

Acting is the only thing scary
The series started OK in a mediocre way, a gore teen comedy about a silly doll.

However each episode is a down spiral of horrible acting, specially the lead actor, Zachary Arthur. I'm sorry but he can't act and he is not charming in any way.

The story in general seems created by an amateur writer obsessed with Voldemort, partitioning the soul by killing (eyes rolling).

Bruised
(2020)

Good call, Blake Lively
Halle Berry revealed Blake Lively was originally attached to play the leading role. Great decision, the movie is boring and forgettable.

The movie has the "B film" vibe of a lot of Netflix productions. IMO, Halle is more talented than this, a waste of her talent.

And, the worst part, and annoying kid that doesn't want to speak. I understand he comes from a traumatic experience, but the movie is so shallow that I just wanted him out of the story.

If you have insomnia, go for it!

Nine Perfect Strangers
(2021)

Great acting
You need to invest time for the characters to develop. Really entertaining and good intended, but it is a shallow vision of extreme grief counseling.

The cast is spot on, although Michael Shannon and Melissa McCarthy stole the show.

Just indulge and enjoy it!

Intrusion
(2021)

Netflix, I want my money back
It is not a thriller... everything is flat (acting, script and direction), neither a mystery, from minute 10 you will predict the whole story, not a single twist.

It is another garbage production from Netflix, they just want to complete the quota of movies without any concern in quality.

Human Affairs
(2018)

Boring beyond belief
Not even an early cinematography student will come up with this none sense.

Be warned: boring, tedious characters and an almost none existing script.

He's All That
(2021)

Razzie Awards for all the cast
The worst acting I have seen in years, not even soap opera actors are this bad!

Addison Rae deserves an instant Razzie Award, she's terrible at acting.

The original version didn't need a remake. That movie was already bad, I know some consider it a 90's classic, sorry!

The worst modern adaptation of the play Pygmalion.

Voyagers
(2021)

Lord of the Flies... in a spaceship
Average and predictable.

"Lord of the Flies" with a mix of "Animal Farm" and "Passenger".

Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist
(2020)

Heartwarming jukebox
Funny, light hearted and touching.

Not for everyone, but the show delivers what it promises, a feel good comedy with naive characters in predictable situations.

I really enjoyed the first season despite the cutesy vibe.

*** UPDATE *** Season 2 is mediocre.

Promising Young Woman
(2020)

Dark colorfulness
Entertaining drama about revenge and the consequences of pursuing it.

A dreadful act that has more victims that we may initially think.

The end could have been better, but as it does not pretend to be excessively deep, still quite enjoyable.

Shrill
(2019)

Where is the shrill?
I was hoping to like this show based on the premise of the first episode. But overall is mediocre.

There are a couple of OK episodes like the one in the pool party. The main issue with the show is that there is a mix and match of messages that don't get anywhere.

The lead character has no evolution, still going around with the same problems, including that she continues to be a terrible friend, too self centered.

The "boyfriend" is dumb, tasteless and disgusting, it is hard not to cringe when the character is on screen.

Jungle Cruise
(2021)

Booga Booga garbage
It should be entertaining for an early Sunday morning when you are not fully awake, but even in that scenario, the movie is full of awful stereotypes that don't let you enjoy what should be an easy-going movie.

If you have young kids, they may like the movie in the same way the would enjoy a rollercoaster. Don't think, just enjoy the ride.

The acting is overall mediocre, except for Emily Blunt that gives a decent performance even with this limited Disney character.

Dwayne Johnson... sorry, but just shut up, you're not a good actor nor funny.

Jolt
(2021)

Mission failed to jolt viewers
I did not have wild expectations other than to be entertained for a few hours... disappointed.

The movie starts in the wrong direction with a dull voice-over narration that does not have the same tone as the movie.

The movie has several problems, summarized as "trying to hard to jolt" with a mixed of anger management issues as She Hulk, John Wick's revenge style, the absurdity of some sequences of Mission Impossible (without the quality execution of MI) and a comedy tone that is beyond childish.

If you want to relax, it's better to see again any past decent action movies. Don't waste your time.

Schmigadoon!
(2021)

Ticklish, not for everyone
I am not a musical theater enthusiast, however I do enjoy most of them. But even if you like musicals, it can be too much to bare due the mix of genres and rhythm.

I understand the acting is exacerbated being a satire about musicals, it has some fun moments but most of the time is simply awkward.

30 minutes that feels like 1 hour.

The White Lotus
(2021)

Misleading satire / thriller premise
Script and genre is all over the place in the first episode.

The following episodes are better, however there's not a powerful connecting story and the characters get more annoying by the minute.

Entertaining, but some episodes are full of repetitive behaviors, so it can get boring at moments.

Disgusting characters: 100 % cringe.

Overall...an awkward "whodunnit" with extreme personalities while vacationing.

Physical
(2021)

Welcome to the inner workings of the mind
I enjoy that not a single character is a role model, not even likable. We get to see the inner and outer demons of women and men through the dark and ruthless mind of someone struggling with self love and respect.

Great combination of a witty script and good performances, specially Rose Byrne.

UPDATE: After the 6th episode it gets repetitive and tedious as you already know the "final outcome" based on the first episode. They should have sticked to 5 or 6 episodes.

The Tomorrow War
(2021)

Predictable summer action movie
Just if you are in the mood of a basic and easy-going sci-fi/action movie.

Nothing remarkable at all in acting, visual effects nor script. You will know how it ends from minute 10.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
(2021)

Worst of the trilogy
We know how these type of movies evolve and end, but they are just fun to watch, at least for me. But I got bored because the movie is blunt and tedious.

Not even the gloomy atmosphere is present.

Better than "Curse of la Llorona", but worst than the rest of the Conjuring franchise.

If you like the Conjuring and Insidious movies just wait to see it on streaming or cable TV.

Black Widow
(2021)

Beyond cartoonish
Entertaining but the script is mediocre (even for this movie genre). The comedy relief characters are laughable stereotypes poorly executed.

Some scenes between Florence and Scarlett are enjoyable, they do have chemistry. Florence character usually takes the spotlight.

Also, CGI does not have the same quality of other movies in the MCU franchise.

Ophelia
(2018)

A shallow version of Hamlet
Another attempt to change the essence of a beautiful character just because it does not comply with the standards of some feminists vision.

Create new stories if you want a different narrative on female leads. To erase the psychological struggles of Hamlet and Ophelia is just destruction of a masterpiece.

As other reviewers have noted, the acting is mediocre. Naomi Watts is barely decent considering the whole tone of the movie is "let's pretend we are in another century but behave like nowadays" (eyes rolling).

Home Before Dark
(2020)

Unbearable lead protagonist
The first season was OK. The second season is hard to watch, mainly because Hilde is an insufferable kid.

Hilde is annoying, doesn't know about personal limits or respect to others' privacy. And the worst part, she cries with every little obstacle she encounters. Too bad the character is not likable (IMO), as her two friends are very charming.
