Jayeshbhai Jordaar
(2022)

Less than 1 star
If possible would have awarded zero stars. Terrible waste of time. Shocking for an Yashraj film with actors like Boman and Ranvir...totally inane, meaningless . The young girl was somewhat redeeming, but what a precocious brat, hardly a role model. In short give this film a big AVOID.

After the Wedding
(2019)

High on emotions
It's a good story with some brilliant acting. However the scenes shot in India leave much to be desired. Shot in Tamilnadu, South India, the language spoken by the locals is Tamil, yet subtitles keep calling it " Bengali" a blunder that could easily have been avoided, to think there are thousands of people in the US conversant with both the Indian languages.

99 Songs
(2019)

Boring story, mediocre music
It's an ARR film, expectations ran extremely high...if nothing else the music should blow our minds. Couldn't be further from the truth. The actors were amateurish, the direction left much to be desired, the story was ancient, done to death, track...Music, which one felt would score over all other aspects was A BIG LET DOWN. Barely a single hummable number.....even the ARR signature rhythm and gusto was missing as was the pathos and melody of earlier films like Roja, Bombay, Rangeela and of course the internationally Jai Ho. Just give it a miss and continue to believe in ARR.

Greenleaf
(2016)

Hypocrisy unbounded
Each character is more human than the other, of the lowest variety. Church is nothing but Politics, religion is peddled for personal gain. The game is played dirty, unscrupulous, scheming, conniving. Each and every character has a deep shameful past, after the third season, it gets repetitive and extremely painful to watch.

Inside Look: The People v. O.J. Simpson - American Crime Story
(2016)

Authentic, but...
It drags on, there are surprises now and then, but with crisp editing, the series could have been shortened by a couple of hours.

The Queen's Gambit
(2020)

Come to love chess
Barely know the game, but found this series riveting. Extremely well made, you wonder how a staid game can build up so much excitement. Chess is the protagonist, the dramatics personae are the players and the director is the grand master. One of the best tv series ever.

Thottappan
(2019)

Melody and visuals
The Kochi backwaters is where the story is centre with some beautiful melodious music that stays with you long after watching the film. The story, the actors, everything becomes irrelevant as the breathtaking camera takes over.
