Daisy Jones & the Six
(2023)

Watched because of my wife
I only watched the show because my wife was excited to watch it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The show gets better and better with every episode.

It's hard not to get drawn into each of the characters struggles, especially Daisy and Billy. They are an emotional roller coaster that is somehow very relatable.

The last episode does an excellent job of pulling every last emotion out of you.

I told my wife that the show is highly predictable yet, I spent the entire series on the edge of my seat and couldn't wait for what was next.

The ensemble was outstanding. If you weren't emotionally invested in Camila; you have a stone for a heart. Karen, Graham, and Eddie were lovable, but Warren was the scene stealer.

Well done; loved it!

Welcome to Wrexham: A Hollywood Distraction
(2022)
Episode 14, Season 1

Funny
I'm enjoying this show more and more every week.

I felt bad for the player that was let go and I felt even worse for the two goalies. If you didn't feel poorly for Rob Lainton, you haven't really been paying attention. However, Christian Dibble stepping in and initially being horrible then being awesome was quite the rollercoaster. But, the episode was supposed to be a rollercoaster, its title Was "the Hollywood episode". They have to take you down so the high feels even higher.

However, the true highlight of the episode was Rob McElhenney's faux jealousy of Ryan Reynolds.

Outstanding show, outstanding episode.

Mixed reviews explained
I completely understand all the mixed reviews. The movie was very kitschy. Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds are extreme (and sing alot). Their singing, especially Will, isn't especially good, but they are absolutely adorable, even though they are completely irredeemable.

If you want a family friendly, cute movie, I think this one is a great feel good holiday romp, although probably a little less singing would be ok.

It had me smiling throughout.

What's wrong with a movie that isn't preachy or difficult to follow, with a simple and cute message? It was a positive movie that some will really enjoy and some will hate. Your choice.

Yellowstone: Horses in Heaven
(2022)
Episode 4, Season 5

Love(d) the show, disliked the episode
Beth went from a must see tv character that you loved to hate, but still rooted for; to a character that, at least, I was hoping the whiny Jamie would run her over. They've taken her character too far. She has no redeeming qualities. Speaking of going too far, John Dutton knows more about everything than everyone, why? He's also become very difficult to like, except when he's back on the ranch, which is where the show should have stayed. I hope the show gets back to its roots. More Kayce, more Rip, more Chief Rainwater, more Teeter and the other bunkhouse crew. Although I have to say, I'm pleased with less Jimmy. Yellowstone please come down from your high political horse (horses in heaven was the first episode I did not enjoy)

Ray Donovan: The Movie
(2022)

Excellent conclusion to a great series but ...
Ray got his closure. Mick got his closure.

But the question I have is Bridget took Bunchy's car with the tracking device and disappears for hours. Bunch is able to walk??? To Ray's motel, to his old house, and back to the hotel before Bridget arrives (actually she arrives right before hee returns to the motel). And how did Bridget know where Ray and/or Mick were? The tracking device was in the briefcase which they no longer had.

I knew Bridget was going to kill Mick half way through the movie, but it didn't really make a lot of sense.

However, with that whiny out of the way, I really enjoyed the series and I thought the movie did an excellent job of concluding the very emotionally messed up Donovan clan's lives. I'll miss Ray, but mostly I'll miss what a scum bucket Mickey can be (kinda like how I miss Frank Gallagher)
