Cat Person
(2023)

fear Fear FEAR FEEEEAR, MEN
Welcome to 2020s in film.

The main character fears men and imagines the worst. She has issues where she is daydreaming in real time worst case scenarios that a man may do to her. Finally she gets her way and her overnight boyfriend goes bonkers after she ghosts him.

You have the man hating best friend who predicted this from day one because "all men are the same".

She even has a man hating podcast.

No one is happier that she was right all along than her.

Everything is male toxicity to her.

Finally her friend realizes that her best is totally and completely toxic.

Basically is a very long winded, 2 hours, men are horrendous, movie with the usual narrative of the new times. Welcome to 2020s cinema. Enjoy!

Holy Cow, HOME RUN
I am an old guy who used to rent indy movies on vhs through the 90s. It has been a long long time since I have seen an independent movie, if this is still considered that, that I have been excited about after watching. Unique movie that is uniquely made. It does have that 2 person play converted to a movie but in a positive way. This rated as a 6 is a misjustice but it also a sign of the times. As you probably know it's about a man and a woman who are lost in space and are debating on "banging". That's only half the movie. There is an entire part 2 that is just as good even if it's a bit predictable. IT IS DONE SO WELL YOU DONT CARE!! Great movie.

Five Nights at Freddy's
(2023)

Not even Close
I'm writing this with assistance of a hard-core 10 year old die hard fan.

I'm not a huge Five Nights at Freddy's fan but I am by proxy. My other kids have grown up with it. They have always loved all things scary. So to say they were let down was an understatement. They actually called it "horrible". As an adult I tried to explain to them they had to make a movie that was watchable for everyone and not just the fans of the video games. That being said they were right. There is a scene in the middle of the movie, no spoilers, but it was just bad. Bad in every aspect. Another thing is, it was VERY rushed. They tried to get more story in than needed in their alloted amount of time. I'd give it a 5 for average. And like most other movie's there was so much that could have been improved.

It is what it is. Another rushed Hollywood project cash in. I'm sure Scott is just happy to have it finally made but at the cost of true fans. My son was more excited by a certain cameo and close out song. There was no sexual content for the record. The movie is not scary. Some gore. Lots of cheesy bad. Since it was profitable before it was even released, which should tell you something about the rush job on low budget, there will certainly be another for them to cash in on.

Better than anything else put out in Hollywood
Is it a masterpiece? No obviously. But it's just as good if not better than the drivel put out in Hollywood, I can assure you that. And I'm sure with 5 percent or less of the budget. If you are not a fan of the original story of good verse evil, well you probably won't like this. However I love the original battle. Good vs Evil. This holds up. The effects are good for a low budget movie. The story is better than you would expect. The ending is exactly as you would expect. Original movie, no, unpredictable again, no but I would mat definitely watch it again and hope for the writer to give us more!

Not as bad as others are saying
This movie is no where near as bad as the other reviews are stating. You have to take the other reviews with a grain of salt. If you like action movies this will not be for you and will hate it. If you like movies that are easy to watch while you pay half attention I'd stay away. Finally, if you love movies with a spelled out or happy ending this is not for you. The director leaves a lot to the imagination and for this he is punished by bad reviews. It's slow, yes. Its British. Something else that is not very well understood is that this direct crowdfunds so he doesnt have to bow to a bunch of people controlling his project. He does not have a huge budget for these movies and they are still well done. This movie simply allows you to watch and fill in the blanks with a unique plot. Maybe it's a message that we are all asleep at the wheel now?

Throwback to when movies were allowed to be simple and speak for themselves
Throwback to when movies were allowed to be simple and speak for themselves.

Of course today this movie is going to miss the mark for most people but us older folk who can appreciate a simply good movie that has a simple stories to tell and are able to let it play out will APPRECIATE it. Some characters grow. Some, well some do just the opposite.

Several story lines which appear to be in complete different directions. But are they? I dont know if writer/director would want to hear this but if you like Woody Allen storylines and old school feel, without the uptight anxious sensation, then you should give this a try. Sorry to the writer if he get this a lot.

NOT FOR CHILDREN. Actually for gullible Millennials only
Just a heads up that these simple cartoons looks like childrens cartoon but James Rallison cartoons are anything but for children. They are for naive Millennials. They are filled with immature ignorant opinions of his own that he feels he needs to push onto others and it's really just gross. I had to stop my children from watching as he just kept insisting his opinion were facts and everything else was false. After watching his shows it appeared he had good upbringing but the ball was dropped somewhere along the way. My concern is; why cant these irresponsible and popular youtubers just keep quiet on these big subjects that they are not even qualified to discuss and definitely not qualified to discuss with my children.

Throwback to the 90s Cult Following Movies like...
This is a straight up throwback to some of those awesome yet weird and sometimes shocking movies from the 90s. Like but not as hard or raw as "KIDS", goofy like "But I'm A Cheerleader", and to me personally a direct connection to "Happiness" and the sort. I'm left wondering if this was a socially more acceptable version of what the writer / director had in mind.

All the characters show their scars right up front. Everyone has something and trying to cope with it through the hardest times of your youth; puberty.

The idea of the neckband and then the progress to the Bracelet is just perfect. While pulling from those dark 90s movies it still stands alone. Must see!

The Munsters
(2022)

Just missed BOTH marks
The problem here is, the younger generations will not get the movie.

The people who loved the show will have nothing to connect and hold on to. Herman's character is missing character. It has none.

I totally respect the "putting your own spin on things", but it better either be original or connect with people somehow. This does or is neither.

Grandpa is not yet grandpa.

Lily is fairly bland as well.

It just misses on multiple levels.

There is one redeeming quality. That is, its visually appealing. The cinematography is great. Colors are great. I could see were people would want or expect something more dreary. Again, splitting the viewers.

It's very vivid.

I was looking forward to this and unfortunately I had try to put effort into finishing it.

Is this a comedy because if so I need to raise my stars to 2
If you dont laugh at least 3 times I'd be shocked. This has to be a joke.

The dialog had to be written by a child.

Who would make this movie?

Perhaps some favors were cashed in.

At this point I believe Bruce Willis is taking roles that Nic Cage knew were really bad.

I actually like the main actor. Not sure if I remember him from other movies.

Tysons cameo was good but it was what it was.

Maybe an AI Computer spit this out because there is NOTHING WHATSOEVER original in this film other than the bad dialog. Maybe it's a throwback to cheesy 90s movies? You knew what was going to happen from start to middle to end.

I actually recommend you watch this because you will NOT believe how bad the dialog is. Seriously.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife
(2021)

AMAZING!! Perfect Amount of Modern and 80s!
Of course people arent going to like it because they wont get it. There is an entire generation or 2 that have no idea. However this was perfect. To pull this story together and make it work perfectly is wonderful and to work Harrold in the way he did, PERFECT!! It simply hold up. Worth the wait!!

The Cleaner
(2021)

Much Better than the reviews
I watch a lot of random movies and most are really bad. This popped up and I hit play. The thumbnail was more than misleading, that's for sure. It's a SLOW moving movie but at the same time you're curious as to what's going to happen in the next scene. Great to see Lynda Carter and Shelly Long. Dont even remember Wilson in it. Nice story. Nice ending. If you're a fan of random movies give it a shot. I guarantee you've see much worse and honestly this movie is GREAT compared to other randoms.

The Conners
(2018)

WAS my favorite show
This was an all american family. Conservative and hard working trying to make ends meet. They add the son mark who is trans? I'm cool with that. It hits with whats happening today. Confused child with no guidance. But after the most recent episode I'm done. I've never missed an episode and stopped the show, deleted and removed. They had to shove the VX agenda right in the face of most their audience. Do they not grasp their audience??? Obviously not. John Goodman and crew should be ashamed. I'm ok with the times but what they with this vx agenda im flabbergasted. I hope they are cancelled and by the looks of it, I'm not the only one.

The Matrix Resurrections
(2021)

Up for part 4 of the love story?
Reading the reviews it seems like people had extremely high hopes for this movie.

I did also but i didn't have expectations. This day and age you have no idea what they are going to try to do.

Considering a 4th movie shouldn't have been made, I'm happy. Im a gluten for punishment I guess. This movie is a 4th. Not a first. It impossible to be more original than the original idea of the first.

I'll warn you; this is a straight up love story more so than the other 3. I'm fine with that. Thought the movie was not original but original enough and was the only way they could have done a 4th.

Movie reviewers seem have no tolerance and expect perfection. I enjoyed it but I'm actually forgiving to a degree.

Mother/Android
(2021)

Not near as bad as the other reviews are claiming
I have a working theory that a good part of movie goers and watchers are not happy unless Matthew McConaughey is staring in it or SOMETHING. This movie has it's slow parts and holes but not every movie can be perfect. This is much better than the other reviewers are stating who must need perfection in their films. 99% of films are recycled as it is. There must have been over 100 horror films made exactly the same in the last 5yrs. This movie has a few unique moments that makes it worth a view.

Marriage Story
(2019)

The most amazing movie about divorce ever made
This will be just another movie if you havent lived it. If you have lived this I'm 99.9% positive you cried at least twice if not more. It hits right to the soul. I'm a manly guy who was crippled by this movie. It's just hit on every aspect. Things are just not fair when it comes to divorce. I want to watch it again but I won't. Too much.

The Matrix
(1999)

Perfect guy movie and perhaps all around
To this day the movie holds up perfectly.

Action with a pinch of love chemistry. Perfect ending.

It's the best guy movie and perhaps movie in general ever made.

The Beatles: Get Back
(2021)

Why the continuity issues
I love the Beatles music but I didn't know much about them. This was really great to learn about the personalities of the Beatles. It was amazing to see adults work out their problems and unite. The reason I give this a 5 and not better is due to the fact that Jackson took liberties with the continuity of the film. It's a documentary. Why are you splicing the timeline and order of which things happened? Makes zero sense and has zero excuses. Its manipulation. Unneeded manipulation.

Pig
(2021)

Best Nic Cage movie in a long LONG time
Great movie. Loved it. Dare I saw almost original? Best thing I have seen in a while.

I can see why some would think it's a bit slow but for me it was not in any way.

Very much worth your time. I cant say much about the movie or it will ruin it. Luckily he wasnt as crazy as John Wick.

Buster's Mal Heart
(2016)

Yes it's a psychological movie but not too bad
I read a lot of the other reviews. The funny ones saying other reviews were wrong and they were right had me laughing. Yes this takes some thinking but it's not even in the top 10 of mind benders. It's big twist is obvious right from the start but it leaves a few more for you to consider. People have to remember that not all questions have answers. It's really good but you will need to put your phone down for this one!

Red Notice
(2021)

Awful. Not sure how these movies get made
This movie wasnt just cheesy, it was horrendous and I'm very forgiving when it comes to movies nowadays. It felt deaperate. What a huge waste of talent and none of this "talent" could see this was a bust? Ooof.

The Many Saints of Newark
(2021)

I read a lot of the reviews on here, it's not THAT bad
A lot of people complaining about this being part of the woke agenda. Was the movie great? No. Was it ok? Yes. It could and should and could have been legendary but it's just ok. It's the time period. It is what it is. A lot of room for part 2. Or a set up for a new series.

Music Box: Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage
(2021)
Episode 1, Season 1

Making a 20yr old music event Woke
The movie was very informal and insightful. However it all goes wrong by bringing the current woke narrative of 2020 to something that happened in the past. The points could have still been made without the heavy overtones. It is 100% more cancel culture, cancel history.

Transformers: The Last Knight
(2017)

Abomination. Horrific. Disgusting. Merlin the Wizard is a center piece, no joke
Everyone says how bad these movies are and I always said I dont care. I'm watching them. My 10yr old self prayed for these movies. I owe him. But this one... this one was something else. If I told you that Merlin the Wizard was a very important part of this movie would you believe me? Not one single bit of this movie made sense or is remote good. it's purely disgusting. Marky Marks acting is at an alpine low. He reeks. I'm just utterly shocked. it's like when you watch a movie you thought was good 20 years ago but you can hardly stand to watch but worse. by the end you're nauseous and sad for everyone involved I'd like to reiterate; this movie does not have one single redeeming quality. not one. I hope they make more.

The Cloverfield Paradox
(2018)

PREQUEL TO THE OTHER 2
I never expect much from movies in general. This one wasn't great at all but it answers questions from the first movie. it's not great. understand that going in and it's place and it's not horrible compared to other dribble.
