Infinite Storm
(2022)

Much better than what I expected
While I was searching for a movie to watch on a slow day I came across this movie while movie surfing. When first saw the trailer and read the description of this movie on a premium movie channel I was a bit apprehensive watching this as it appeared to be a tedious rescue movie but when I did decided to watch this I was to say glad I invested the 90 something minutes to watch it. Not much but more important was theM eaningful dialog among the good actors. Very involving true story of personal tragedy ,grit and determination as well as excellent cinematography. OK the characters faces were over exposed for the climate but this was needed to show the drama. The personal storyline wins over the good action scenes. Very emotional and touching.

Midnight in the Switchgrass
(2021)

A ** 1/2 star rating out of **** Stars
The sad part of this film is that you clearly see the Decline Of Bruce Willis's health and cognitive functions and he has very short part in the movie as he appears to be reading from cue cards but I have to go by what I see to rate this movie. Those scenes with willis talking to Megan fox were rushed and phoney.

As far as the movie goes, It was not bad. True a clichéd plot we have seen done over and over again but still well executed with a interesting human story that was explored and the motivation for the lead characters to be obsessed with this case and the effects they had on the family of the victims. Other than Bruce willis I would say the acting was fairly good. The and well directored. The Villan is really makes us hate him and the heros we root for.

Troll
(2022)

Entertaining
Clichéd. Not a classic by any means But good special effects and good acting and ofcourse an environmental message On why we should respect mother nature and if we don't " Mother nature pushes back "but this film doesn't shove that message down your throat. As well as some mythology giving it a local Norwegian feel. Also kind of in the king Kong type of spirit regarding sympathy for the creature and one scene a sort of nod to the king Kong film. Some subtle comedy relief. Entertaining for fans of this genre and for that reason I give it 8 stars. Take it for what it is and you will find it good Netflix watching. A decent Norwegian production. Just good fun.

The Witches
(1990)

Flat out boring.
This film when first released was controversial in the Witch's/Wiccan community for it's negative portrayal of Witch's. The truth is it's just boring ,tedious film. For most of the film consisted of two children turned into talking mice scampering around with a horrible attempt at humor with fat jokes. Most of the film takes place at A hotel where the Witch's hold a convention on how to kill all human children starting with England. Not.explaining why or clear on why. Hard to sit through.

Thunder Force
(2021)

Not a classic and forgettable but still some fun
True this film is strictly by the number and a lot of misfire humor but just fun. Melissa McCarthy and rest of the good cast does a good job and fill their roles well. The trouble though is the script for.the roles and movie arnt good.

This film won't knock it out of.the Park but if you can endure some of the dragged out jokes you can have some fun watching. Just take it for.whatit is.ifor.wah.

Dreamland
(2019)

An unimpressive Disappointing film
I was not particularly impressed by this film and disappointed. The film takes place during the depression era and only glossing over it. The plot meandering and over all drab.

The acting was good but the characters lacked real substance and really hard to care about them. It was not easy to be sympathetic regardless of their circumstances for a Murderous woman, and manipulative woman , Her ex and young man who threw in with her knowing people died as a resulting of her robbing banks and self centered .His dream not an excuse.

Poorly directed. For example a hodgepodge of clips showing what their dream life would be. Rather just being distracting instead. A narration that came off being pretentious. Cliches as the movie was and uninvolving. Also the end credits had little relevancy to the plot for example it showed family's of that era smiling ( Actors)and posing for the camera. Might be worth a watch on a slow night.

The Great Silence
(2020)

Thin plot
Basically a thin plot with little to do the the Virus and cliches abound. Just plan Generic.

Witches of Amityville Academy
(2020)

simplistic and low budget but not that bad
The film suffered from an ultra low budget and poor acting and simplistic plot. I might be generous rating it a four. I would give it *1/2 stars out of **** Stars. only thing saving it from a 3 rating or a one star rating is the decent chemistry between the cast and a plot that although is anti climatic with an anti climatic ending did have something intangible that might make it a watch for non discriminating viewers of this genre. just take it for what it is.

The Turning
(2020)

A potentially simidecent Movie ruined by non cohesive horrible ending
Competently made but non suspenseful and plenty of pop up scares and sort of a murder mystery ended up amounting in the last few minutes to a Whole lot of nothing. The ending if we were to take it at its premise contradicted many of the what transpired before. and left several holes. 1. Never understood why the girl was afraid to leave the estate? 2. When the murder scene was shown at the beginning of the movie, why did she see herself as the murder victim if it was her. 3. What was the root of the boy's issues and what caused them? All of this a more was contradictory and " An occurence at owl creek " ending that will have you thinking you wasted about an hour and a half watching this. ( at least " An occurrence at owl creek made a statement and made sense.) this ending due to it's contradictions and ending didn't even leave room for theorys as the ending was absolute. Good acting waisted and our time.

Raised by Wolves
(2020)

started out well and went down hill
I so wanted to rate this an 8 Because at first what appeared to be a good premise with good special effects and interesting characters in the first 6 episodes making me want more ( I love that in a series but the episodes after that got diluted and ambiguous and made not very little sense and and suffering from ambiguity even if it was intended for a clif hanger ending for a second season. The ending regarding the android s and the Prodigy of a child turned out to be more of a generic horror almost Prometheus type of ending in episode 10. Regarding religion vs atheism , was this series anti religious or saying that atheist and theist should co exist peaceful? Again, Good special effects and narrative and characters nearly ruined by conclusion. Might still be worth a watch though.

Penance Lane
(2020)

Entertaining movie and watchable even if done by the numbers
A run of the mill ,Routine Horror flick with good directing , good acting by the leads. John Schneider and Taylor Mane and Booker Huffman to recommend it.

You get what you expect from this Movie with a tad Bit More. Even though you know what to anticipate for the most part You can still be suckered Into the action and interest in the plot. Nice Characters even though Cliches. Worth a watch.

Scorched Earth
(2018)

B movie as in Boring. Uninspired
This low budget flick steals ideas and scenes from other far superior films. A poor feeble attempt at a post apocalyptic western with an environmental message. Uninspired acting as if they are just going through the motions expect for Gina Carano as the main role as a bounty hunter BARLEY saves this from a scrap heap rating of 3 or below Gina deserved better than this and so do the viewers.

Hotel Artemis
(2018)

watchable with decent acting by bug name cast
Alot of subplots and narratives and some emotional storylines for the characters and of course decent action scenes. What you would expect from a film of this genre but the big name cast pulls it off. Nothing of lasting impression but watchable.

Jesse
(2011)

Better than expected and worth a view
Jesse Is a low budget film as you can see from the get go but not lame, Just give a minute and you will see. What brings this film slightly above others if it's genre is a bit more of a personalized plot of Jesse( excellently played by Stephenie Finochio, Aka wrestler Trinity)Maverick cop excessive drinker an attitude that works to her own detriment. We quickly learn about her life's issues that have her career and personal life teetering on the edge. The film does a good job of portraying mobsters in long Island accurate or not and their intersections and the cultural aspect. The film also poses the question of when as a cop to follow procedures and to what ends. The other well known actors mostly appear just for short parts in this film but their characters fit where their supposed too. and yes Jesse is hot and some good action sequences. decent viewing.

Daddy, I Don't Like It Like This
(1978)

A sad movie concerning emotional abuse of a kid in a lower working class environment
A Made for TV movie about a kid being the victim of emotional abuse and cruelty from his lower working class father and mother, teachers, the local kids in his neighborhood and just about any person he encounters or encounters him. You can empathize with this kid on so many levels. You would think he was stuck and born into an evil dimension. Not much as far as a plot is concerned but leaves a lasting impression after viewing it.

Wake Up
(2019)

Fair mystery with good characterization
Mostly predictable and mostly cliches but most of the characters were still somewhat interesting. Decent cinematography. Entertaining if you do think to much about it when watching. Okay overall

Terrifier
(2016)

no concept just a 3rd rate slasher movie.
Thin plot and horrible acting. Unrelenting torture with no suspense and no real plot of any kind. What is the point of development of any character just to have them killed and tortured! Although most of the characters except for one are shallow anyway. Predictable ending and an unpleasant chore to get there for the viewer. Sadistic even for a horror film. Basically garbage.

Malevolent
(2018)

starts off o.k. then drags
Starts off alright and gathers some interest despite most of the characters being jerks then drags out to the predictable and stupid e.g why do they always turn their back on their assailants when they are still alive? When the mystery is revealed it just drags on with unpleasant scenes even for a horror flick. The Tormented ghosts play little part in this film .the "gifted girl for the most part makes this watchable but this film is low mediocrity.

Geostorm
(2017)

cliche ridden movie
Not bad or good disaster sci fi flick with o.k. special effects and every cliche character known to man with an all formula type plot line.

Channel Zero
(2016)

Season 3 ' The Butchers Block' just another slaughter fest and sup par from the rest of the pretty Good serious
Unlike the first two seasons this has no relevancy to a T.V., channel or any other form of media. Just a generic version of 'American Horror Story' and sub par with the first two seasons of this pretty good series. Mostly an unpleasant cannibalistic and why too much of it and the story really lacking a good narrative. I'm not opposed to Gore but this season' Butchers Block pushes it to the limit. I know what you're thinking right now " what should I have expected from a series called Butchers Block? Fair question and the answer was suspense and and to be captivated by the story and instead felt like a chore and draining to sit through it instead of just gratuitous gross out repulsion but as a public service to all I did sit through all 6 episodes. All I can say is this series is going down hill fast.

My Teacher, My Obsession
(2018)

title says it all
Watchable but plays out like a lifetime channel Movie. Sadly nothing new here.

Sierra Burgess Is a Loser
(2018)

pleasant if not derivative
Derivative but still a good balance of humor and some poignant moment's. When we were teens and mybie even now many of us can relate to Sierra and the high school hiraracy. Of course we have all the cliches including the side kick friend, The awkward girl who is somewhat low self esteem eventually acquires her true value and self sworth even though she goes about it the wrong way to come to that realization with some old storyline type game of deceit, making the object of her affection think she is someone else who is considered a hottie via Cat Fishing and gets herself even deeper in the hole and the superficial girl who learns what is truly important in life and what true beauty is all about but the actors and characters make this feel good comedy worth a watch.

Down a Dark Hall
(2018)

competently made and interesting concept.
Competently made with decent acting and an interesting concept but you will figure out the mystery behind it long before the Girls at the school do and the plot Is revealed and the school staffs unscrupulous intentions are revealed. But still worth a watch..Good performances all around.

Die Präsenz
(2014)

A boring cliched movie
It is a boring carbon copy of so many movies with this plot and Horribly done. This German version seems it was just made for that' Germany 'with stealing every Part of the movie' Paranormal' and other video documentary style ghost movies and worse than that doing a poor job of it. Mostly a sit and squirm movie that will put you to sleep in your chair or more conveniently a couch when you do fall asleep. Very little of not happens and when it does it is petty crap. Not even worth a view on a slow night. Generic and anemic and just plan Boring !

Lost in Space
(2018)

A little dragged out but worth the Watch
Yes I actually saw all of the seasons 10 episodes last night; The Good news is it is not as campy as the original series . The bad news is the it is not as fun as the first series. The positive side of the characterization is The Characters are more flawed and complex hence more human than the original series . ( Most characters are updated this way anyway theses days. Some gray areas. although it is hard to why the DR Smith in this series acts the way she does, even though she says her intentions out loud when she is caught after manipulating and conniving . Some touching meaningful touching moments occur with between the characters., and then some cliched contrived moments meant to be deep but just comes off as boring. I agree with changing the characters from the original( although many reviews don't) because it adds some interesting fresh changes, yet they are still cliched in there own way.. The season ending is unsatisfying but is not a cliff hanger. mostly this update of the original series was disappointing but still had enough to make it worth watching.)
