Maid
(2021)

Episode 1
Everything in episode 1 is absurd and grotesque and often stupid, from characters to scenes. Nobody talks or acts like that in real life. Wasn't impressed with the main character performance in episode 1. Not watching the rest of this drivel.

Kara Para Ask
(2014)

Episodes 1-25
It is like silly little children playing silly children's games. Worse than soap operas. Back flashes, never-ending crying, bickering, suspense music, slow motions, could drive anyone nuts. I understand this is a movie and there is no way people in Turkey that stupid, but mid series it just starts getting too much. The Police characters are very irritating. If fact, they show Turkey Police as bunch of idiots. But Elif is the epitome the most obnoxious, not very bright business owner. They show women, both rich and poor as extremely obnoxious. Absolutely bizarre series. I am giving it 4, for, as a female, I like to watch how rich people live, dress in Turkey, how they behave. Not sure if I will be able to finish the series.

Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich
(2020)

Who was J. Epstein is still a question.
J. Epstein was an addict, a handicap who needed serious treatment. Highly functioning, charismatic individual with brilliant mind, yet a mental deviant of the disgusting sort. His early years, his family, anything that could have explained or shed a light on his mental pathology are missing from the documentary. Certain parts of his interrogation should have never been aired. It was all times low from the film makers.

The Documentary did very good job on exposing the level of corruption in the US. It was shocking to see the extend of it. The power of few with money. Not a democracy.

The victims. The girls, now women, regardless of what one might think about them, have put themselves between a rock and a hard place. While nicely groomed and their confessions rehearsed to give it some level of sophistication, every word that came out of their mouths has been carefully scrutinized by the filmmakers. Yet, at times, it is clear that they were manipulated into participation in this documentary. The filmmakers didn't protect them enough to avoid accusations from the general public. Sometime what they say did no favors to them and they weren't smart enough to see that. There should have been less repetitive revelations from the victims, instead more focus on J.Epstein personality and corruption. I am not sure why the victims wanted their day in court believing that Epstein could be moved by their tears and broken lives. A sociopath doesn't feel or understands suffering of other people. So what would be the point? Lastly, the way it ended. It is not up to Virginia Roberts, i believe it is her name, to continue digging this case. Unless she wants to waste her life on something she would never achieve, making herself to look like a fool in the process.

Euforia
(2018)

Beautifully acted and skillfully made drama.
One brother is successful, healthy and life is good . Another is not so lucky . He is facing serious life's challenges. The brothers were never too close, yet, they now face walking that difficult path together. How each brother would handle the journey and the challenge? Guilt, blame, resentment, anger, judgements- no one escapes it. I recommend you watch it.

Mytho
(2019)

Season 1: Loved it
Some reviewers, such as "The French are funny!", seem to be reviewing something else, not the french series "Mythomaniac". Elvira doesn't have cancer, neither she has an infant, her children are still in a high school. Not sure what that person was watching and reviewing. Also not sure why many are fixated on Anne Frank.

The youngest child Virginie, brilliantly played by Zelie Rixhon, is not obcessed with Anne Frank. She is a victim of the modern day "too much negative information" that hits children from all sources of mass information: internet, TV, social networks, etc. She is Anna Chlumsky (My Girl, 1991) of 21st century and suffers from anxiety.

2 older children, Carole, played by Marie Drion and Sam, Jérémy Gillet are still in high school, have their own, "modern day" problems. Both are exceptionally good actors.

Elvira, a mentally worn-out, but still beautiful mother, inadvertently, got herself into a mess which dramatically changed the dynamics of her household. Her cheating partner, the father of her kids, have found no other options as to further destroy his kids sense of wellbeing by revealing the "truth". Meantime his own lies remain unknown to his children. Brigitte, the father's lover, plays crucial role in the disfunction of this family and is plotting more destruction under pretense of "helping". The mother is in the corner and there is no easy way out. After years of being taken for granted, indifference from her family, she experiences short period of "love", care and affection which then were replaced by hatred. Meantime her lying and cheating partner remains a "good" parent for his children. A new character comes into play in the last episode. Looking forward to season 2.

Pay gap episode-disgusting!
America is the only country that doesn't guarantee maternity leave before and after delivery. It doesn't even cross their minds that a female body is not a baby spewing machine, that giving birth to a healthy baby is of national importance (elsewhere), that breastfeeding is a foundation of life time Health, therefore of a national importance as well, that if women decide not to have children, and it is presented in this so called documentary as a personal choice, population stability would be compromised very quickly. And that is what shocking about this episode. The rest of the world seem to understand that, but not in America.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie
(2019)

Is this a joke?
Out of respect for the viewers they could have at least starved Jesse and Todd before filming. Aaron isn't fat, but his face is way too round compared to the last BB scenes. That is what makeup for. His haircut is also too fancy, though filthy, for someone who spent months in a cage. After just one night sleep, cup of noodles, shower and shaving emaciated, mentally and physically broken Jesse looks like a normal happy go lucky guy, minus face cringe. Aaron couldn't replicate BB Jesse. His eyes clearly indicate he is acting, not living his role. Everything else in this movie is a load of crap. Taking the viewers for fools isn't cool at all.

A pesar de todo
(2019)

trash
If I could give it minus 10, I would do just that. What a drivel! From the story line to performances this so called comedy is so unbelievably trashy and empty of any substance. Spain cinema used to stand out for its excellence. I guess no more.

The Trip to Spain
(2017)

Recommend, but read my review.
Breathtaking scenery, mouth watering and visually appealing cuisine and two very annoying and often ridiculous characters. Pathetic would be another adjective to describe the characters. If there were humor, I didn't notice. May be Brits got it.

Si no t'hagués conegut
(2018)

First episode
The first few minutes are so pretentious and poorly acted, that I decided not to continue watching. I also wish they had left it in original language with subtitles. An update. After reading positive comments I decided to give it more time. Unfortunately after watching 3 episodes my opinion hasn't changed. The acting is very poor.

Mademoiselle de Joncquières
(2018)

"Happiness that doesn't last called pleasure"
If you want to unwind, I recommend this visually stunning, full of clever intrigues movie. "One should be taught about life as a couple before getting married". Don't miss "Call my agent" french series also- nearly all french movie stars are in it, including Cecile de France.

Quién te cantará
(2018)

I enjoyed watching this movie
Martha appears to be bipolar and it was mentally exhausting for Violet to raise her. Martha is 23, but still lives with mother continuing her abuse when she is in a severe mood episode. Violet gave up her career as a singer for her, getting nothing in return. Yet, externally she appears to be calm. She dutifully continues to carry her cross despite Martha's abuse. . Lila has her own mother/daughter story as the movie progresses that also centers around song writing and singing. Violet and Lila come together and transform each other. Even though transformation was short lived for Violet, she fulfilled her dreams.

I personally don't see any plot holes. What happened to amnesia? Amnesia could reverse on its own. But I believe it was not amnesia that prevented Lila from singing. It was her guilt. I recommend you to watch this movie. Your perception could be different.

Le mystère du lac
(2015)

It is watchable
Beautiful actors and acting. Keeps you guessing through the end. The last episode though was one too many " twist and turn". I don't think there was a need to complicate things to that extend. The scene in the hospital with Rèmi was not necessary. In real life he wouldn't have gone to visit Cloé. Cloè's father suicide plot line was also weak. And no, beautiful Barbara Schulz doesn't look 50.

Room
(2015)

A Heartbreaking story
I hardly ever cry watching movies. We are desensitized to tragedies that are forced on us by media each day. This film has touched me deeply, I could not hold my tears. The tragedy is being shown mostly from a little boy prospective, for whom it wasn't a tragedy, just a way of being, a long his Ma is always with him. This is why this film sands out among others with similar stories. Highly recommend.

Dix pour cent
(2015)

Loved it!
I really enjoyed watching the series. Superb acting, interesting characters I cared about. Can't wait to see season 3 when it becomes available on Netflix.

Andið eðlilega
(2018)

I loved it.
This film kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Great performances by the two leading actresses. Politics aside, the story is original and somewhat heart breaking. Unusual, circumstantial bond of two mothers from the different parts of the world. If you have strong opinions about illegal immigration and love to debate about it, skip this movie, for all you 'll see is what you would want to see, completely missing the tragic, but beautiful story.

Lazzaro felice
(2018)

A good one!
Lazzaro is a symbolic character in this Film. With the eyes of an innocent, kindhearted child he connects two worlds-two parts of the story. Lives of enslaves tabaco growers are difficult, manual labor is hard, food is scarce and living arrangements are appalling. Yet, their lives are socially structured, they maintain cultural traditions, live in a beautiful natural environment, eat " real" bread, drink real wine, take care of each other and maintain good spirit. What happens next is heart wrenching, but reflective of today's reality. Good intention pave a road to hell they say. Chips for a meal anyone?

The Kindergarten Teacher
(2018)

A good one
I watched the movie which left me thinking about it. Then I read some reviews. Then I thought about it again. I disagree with some of the reviews, but that is for a movie discussion club, not IMDB review. And you would certainly want to talk about it.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
(2018)

this in not a MamaMia sequel.
The only reason you might want to see this drivel is Lily James. Absolutely everything is garbage and everyone else's acting just horrible.

Les goûts et les couleurs

Entertaining and funny
I was reserved at first, for I'm not into LGBT movies, but ended up really enjoying it. Superb acting, sharp humor and the story line kept me engaged through the end. No cliches.
