The Black Cauldron
(1985)

It is not that bad.
First I would like to say that this film is definitely not geared towards young children or those who are easily scared. But for anyone who celebrated Halloween, just watch this movie.

It is geared more towards the male audience. It is about a teen who takes care of a pig and soon finds himself battling a very evil king. The king is a Skeletor rip off. He has to find the Cauldron before the king does, or all evil things come to life and will destroy all the good.

Along the way, he makes two friends, a princess, a older harp man, and a cute but mischievous older dog.

This movie is ripe with suspense. For those who have never seen it, you are left wondering, is this the one Disney film where the villain wins? Full of twists. Some sequences see, to drag on a little bit, why a 9.

Just because it is cartoon, we watch the Simpsons don't we, don't fell our too old to watch, like I mentioned earlier, it is more for adults, just give it a chance and you will find a Disney gem that has been hidden and way undervalued.

Frasier: I Hate Frasier Crane
(1993)
Episode 4, Season 1

A Sweet and Funny episode
Now, I don't believe in fighting, but I do believe in not running away and holding one's word, the premise of this episode.

It starts when Neils gives a paper to Fraiser and points out a critic that says he hates Fraiser Crane. Fraiser being Fraiser has to respond and asks for a point by point reason why. The critic does in the next paper, that Neils just happens to have and gives to Fraiser. This leads to Fraiser asking the critic to reveal himself, and he does on the radio show. Fraiser and the critic have a war of words, which results in a place and time that they will physically fight each other. Martin congrats his son but soon turns to sorrow when Fraiser says he was only using words and backs out. Martin scolds him for doing so, and accused him of running away.

The next day we see Fraiser changed his mind and ready to fight the guy. Martin shows up proud (the first time he has smiled since the series began), Fraiser goes outside and starts to fight the guy, when Martin pulls a sweet move.

A good episode that one must see.

Chicago Fire: Buckle Up
(2019)
Episode 5, Season 8

Oh Good Grief
There are like half a dozen story lines here and only one was great, if not for that story a 2.

The main one about a tow truck driver hiring another driver to slam on the brakes and cause accidents was excellent, watch it for that storyline. That one story line does involve Randall (auto correct won't let me put in his nickname), where he gets dinged for not using correct procedures, a story line, like the review before I'm getting sick and tired off. He even wrote a newsletter (story 3), mentioning his birthday. Of course the ladies take control and soon it is chaos with everyone getting mad at the newsletter and putting the blame on Randall when all he wanted was just to celebrate his birthday. Trudy shows her rare sweet side and lifts him up by taking him out.

The storyline about Stella Kid at the accomedy was ok, a tad boring for me.

That was storyline 4. There is yet 2 more.

The one that bought this way down was Herrmann. I am getting sick of him and his anger towards his kids. He is always finding something negative. In this episode his son did rescue breaths on an idot that tried to jump into a pool from a rooftop. Was Herrmann happy, no. He was furiously mad at his son for allowing that guy to jump. Last time I checked his kid was that and not God able to stop others from doing stupidity. He needs to see his kids in a more positive light.

Finally the last storyline involves Joe Cruz getting a happy ending. I will leave what it is for you to view.

Summary 1 excellent storyline, 2 fair ones, the rest are Oh Good Grief.

Chicago Fire: Foul Is Fair
(2018)
Episode 9, Season 6

Stinks storyline not that stinky
I give this review 7 stars. Not excellent but not all that bad either. There were no major fires in this episode but this show would come extremely unrealistic if there was. Fires, thank goodness don't happen every day in every ward of a city. Yes, Gabby was being heroic again. Her search for the missing child was fairly interesting. Not good but not terrible either, in the middle. I really enjoyed the story about the smell search, it added some humor to the show. Nothing wrong with workplace humor. It happens in real life, believe me. That storyline made my day and was definitely worth watching. Give this episode a try.

The New Price Is Right
(1972)

Price is Wrong
I use to love this show when younger. Watched it every day. Avid fan. Been a few years since I had last seen an episode. Tried it recently, couldn't stand it. Why? The host. Not really. Drew Carry is okay. Shave off that stupid beard, and I just might like him as much as Bob Barker. So what is it? I compared 2 episodes, one from the 80's and a current one. Here is one. The set itself. It was classy back then. Looked like 1st class. The current set looks cheesy. Here is a metaphor. It looked like it went from fine dining to a fast food restaurant. Number 2. The prizes they give out, especially the ones they bid on are stupid. Many of those are those As seen on TV. Hardly ever see rings, light fixtures or necessary home devices to bid on. The announcer rushes though the descriptions of the products so you barley know what they are. They have done away with many classic games, for example credit card. It is so much more rushed too, (for commercials of course), that Drew doesn't have much interaction with the contestants as in the past. It has changed so much since I was younger, (and I am not talking about the host,) that its just not the same anymore.

Such a shame.

Frasier: Voyage of the Damned
(1997)
Episode 6, Season 5

Almost hit an iceberg with this one.
Very funny episode. Starts when Frasier gets booked on a cruise for a lecture he is doing. Fun starts when he, Neils, Martin and Roz get on the ship. Frasier learns that the cruise is basically hosting 3rd rate acts which dampens his pride. Frasier, along with Martin invite Maris along the cruise. Which only gets Neils in trouble when a woman starts to flirt with him, causing Neils to get wet and some waiters to get rich. The gang tries to help Neils by breaking into Maris room to talk to her, only they end up hiding in the bathroom. Ending is funny, plus we get to see Maris! Kind of. This episode is full of funny one liners. Give it a try. I am sure you will get a few chuckles along the way.

The Blacklist: Raymond Reddington (No. 00): Good Night
(2023)
Episode 22, Season 10

Pay careful attention
I would like more to see the FBI's agent (one who wanted to shoot him) reaction when he was told Raymond was deceased but one can't have everything. As for the task force I will call it The Marry Tyler Moore ending. You know everyone gets fired, but where they end up next, that is a mystery to one's own imagination. As for the way he died. It was not really the bull. Raymond's health just gave out. He would have died by his body just giving out, but knowing Raymond he wanted to go out in a more exciting way.

Now the big one. Who says Raymond's identity was not revealed. It was!!! You have to pay close attention. When talking with Agnes, she says, You talk like a mom.

Raymond replies by saying that it can't be help. It can't be help.!! Hello. He is Katerina.

Mystery finally solved. Only reason I didn't give it a 10, was for the reason I mentioned in the start, it would have been nice to see the FBI's reaction and what happened to them, after they found him, but no show is perfect.

Cheers: The Magnificent Six
(1992)
Episode 4, Season 11

A very weak, outdated episode
This is one of the more silly and outdated episodes from Cheers. Rebecca smoking in the office she had just recently burned down seems stupid. Shows just how much she cares about others. Rebecca, for me has gotten more and more dislike as the seasons go on.

She doesn't even try the stop smoking program which was very predictable. Bad storyline.

Storyline number 2, Sam and Henry are seeing who can rack up the most dates with women. A very disgusting plot, and extremely outdated for its time.

This episode ranks as one of the lower quality in Cheers and probably the worst from the Rebecca era. Skip it, if not a big Cheers fan.

Frasier: Proxy Prexy
(2002)
Episode 3, Season 10

Pretend its from the earlier seasons
I have read the reviews, it seems some of them are filled with what I call later season prejudice. Hating episodes just because they come from the later seasons of the series.

This episode is pretty funny. Frasier wants to run for president of the apartment, again. He had his father run with him because he is more likable by the tenants. The plan, have father win, and Frasier will then act as president. The father does win. That is where the fun begins. Soon a power struggle embraces between father and son. However it surprising ends well for Frasier. The father learns a lesson in politics. Giving people what they want doesn't always give you a big round of appreciation.

The side plot of Roz, Niels and Daphne is okay, the main story makes up for it. I laughed many times.

Frasier: The Innkeepers
(1995)
Episode 23, Season 2

This is a non reality TV show
I see so many reviews saying this can't be real because the characters could not have this much money therefore this plot would be impossible. Last time I looked this was a sitcom. Sitcoms are anything based on reality. Think, I Dream of Jeanne, Mork and Mindy, Punky Brewster, Seinfeld, not to mention the mother of it all, I Love Lucy. The writers had one simple goal, make people laugh. Reality or laughter, you can't have both. Frasier is a show to make you laugh.

The reason for the above is in this episode the brothers buy a very fancy restaurant and even fix it up. Then on opening night everything goes wrong, leading to destruction. Very funny and definitely worth watching if your primary focus is on getting amused and not reality.

Mom: Kreplach and a Tiny Tush
(2016)
Episode 7, Season 3

Very funny 😄
Violet wants to have a normal family dinner to impress her soon to be mother in law. You have to feel sorry for Christy, and despite what one review said, Violet was not put on the back burner. Christy tries to cook up a great Jewish dinner only to get it bashed by the boyfriend's mother. Despite turning off all phones, that doesn't stop people from bargain in. One funny moment is when Bonnie's "boyfriend" comes over and talks loud, making embarrassing comments everyone hears. Linda Lavin is great at playing the mother who makes wise remarks. Just a very funny dinner.

I gave it 9 stars because I can't stand the Violent character. She sees her mother is trying and still has a fit. I have also noticed the only time she comes over or speaks to her mom is when she wants something. She knows her mom wants her in her life, so Violent uses that to meet her wants. I am glad Linda Lavin, put her in her place in this episode. A good solid 9.

Mama's Family: The Wedding: Part 2
(1983)
Episode 4, Season 1

A lot of pictures Mama is dusting
As one has noticed, for the first two seasons, pictures of the family that appear in the opening credits are only of those that actually appear in the episode.

In this episode, there are a lot of pictures because the whole family is there. When there is a big family comes some great problems which brings great comedy. Eunice is unhappy, she wants to sing. She convinces Naomi to let her sing. Eunice is happy, for a whole 5 seconds, which might be a record for her, but I digress. Eunice found out, Mama gave Dady's ring to Naomi. Now Eunice is enraged. She goes to a sofa with a beer to sit during the wedding ceremony, but has trouble finding a spot, with Mama being at one end and her sister being at the other.

Naomi and Victoria exchange their vows, which is halious in itself. Then comes time for Eunice to sing. After throwing insults, including some harsh ones towards Vint and Naomi, a fight breaks out. Her dot of a husband Ed, has to break it up and carry her out.

Then comes the ending. You know the luck, Vint and Naomi have. I will let you take a guess at what happens when they leave for their new home.

One of my favorite episodes of the series.

Bewitched: Witches and Warlocks Are My Favorite Things
(1966)
Episode 3, Season 3

Stupid Aunt Clara
Oh, such a sad episode. Writing that is. A committee of witches form to test Tabitha's powers. Aunt Clara comes via the chimney and Endorea makes a snide comment. Really? She is a nice, sweet woman. Endorea is always talking about treating witches with respect. What about treating the elderly with respect. None of the witches except poor Aunt Clara and Sam are nice and do exactly what they claim humans see them as, evil and mean. They want to kidnapp Tabitha and even put spells on Sam and Aunt Clara, as well as Darren, but that is to be expected. They just about get away with it, till Maurice, Sam's father of all people comes to the rescue. Sad episode.

The Facts of Life: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?
(1983)
Episode 19, Season 4

Just a good, funny episode
Most of TFOL episodes revolve around a certain member and them having problems with some comedy behind it. This is one of the rare episodes in which none of the girls have any major issues. Just a few minor ones like one getting sick, or some little bickering going on. This episode is a chain of events that lead to a very funny outcome. Give it a try, I'm sure you will laugh at least once.

The Facts of Life: The Four Musketeers
(1982)
Episode 16, Season 3

You devil, Ms. Garrett!
The girls have paid off their debt and are at odds with one another, thus they part their ways. Oh, but Ms. Garrett has a plan to put them back in their place.

Hint, Ms. Garrett knew exactly what was going to happen once she assigned them the project. Notice her face as she peeps in the doorway.

The Facts of Life: Fear Strikes Back
(1981)
Episode 2, Season 3

A very outdated episode, thats an understatement
Basically Natalie is sexually assaulted and she gets PTSD. People around her don't support her, just go on with life. Really? Being to young I guess that is how it was in the 80's. Then she joins a self-defense class, where, get this, they blame her. What she could have done not to be attacked. Blaming the victim in other words. I guess back then, it was okay to tell the victim what they could have done to prevent the attack. In today's world however, that is very wrong, making this an extremely outdated episode.

Justice with Judge Mablean
(2014)

What is going on with her head?
I watched, by accident, the program, a case about a housekeeper breaking a vase. The judge basically said it was her choice to hire a housekeeper and that the housekeeper was free from damages. I thought what, that certain seems to counterdic the hundreds of rulings I have seen on other court shows, mainly Judge Judy and The People's Court. I Goggle the law and guess what? The later judges are right. The housekeeper is responsible for damage. A judge that doesn't know the law gets a 1 in my opinion.

Chicago P.D.: Don't Bury This Case
(2017)
Episode 9, Season 4

Weak and mean
The storyline here was weak and just seemed so unlikely. The way Alvin put down Kim was very mean. He would not do that to a man.

Bar Rescue: Yo-Ho-Ho and a Bottle of Dumb
(2012)
Episode 1, Season 2

A must see cause you won't believe.
This episode is same yet different. Same format as the other shows in this series, yet different in relation to the story. Basically a real bar where everyone dresses up as pirates. The lady owner is strange. You have to see it to believe it.

Chicago Fire: It Wasn't About Hockey
(2019)
Episode 14, Season 7

A non soapy drama filled episode
Other reviewers are getting down on the specifics. I am writing this as an overview of the whole episode. The three women who work at the station go for a nice night out, only to come upon a tragedy. They work together to help the injured. The viewer is left in suspense wondering if all will make it.

The chili cook off at the station added a bit of humor.

Little or no soap opera, drama filled around helping people involved in a tragic accident with a little bit of humor on the side. My kind of episode.

Chicago Fire: All the Proof
(2018)
Episode 6, Season 7

An avid Chicago fire fan But.
I love Chicago Fire. However this was the season I came close to saying farewell! This is the 3rd story line involving bringing the Chief and the firehouse down. I am sick of that story line. The writers needed to come up with a different storyline. What was the saving grace and made me gave it 4 stars was the story of Benny, Kelly Severid's dad.

Chicago P.D.: A Little Devil Complex
(2015)
Episode 13, Season 2

The one that got me hooked
I tried one CP episode in season 1 and couldn't stand it. Then I had to see this episode because of Chicago Fire. The way Hang Voight and his team worked to capture this guy plus Hang getting upset when trying to find his real identity was what made it so interesting.

However the real plus was seeing Roman and Burgess. I said, there is that girl from the episode where her niece got hurt from a hospital bomb. Those two added a bit of good needed humor to the show, plus Platt's reaction when they had to say their car got destroyed because of a dumb error on their part. Also how Platt used them to make herself look good. It was the interaction between Roman, Burgess and Platt that got me started on this series and I have not stopped yet.

Chicago P.D.: Reckoning
(2019)
Episode 22, Season 6

Adam becomes Alvin
Excited and tense episode. Right away you know who the bad guy is which makes it exciting. I am going to contain a minor spoiler, Adam always looked up to Alvin and wanted to be like him, sadly is this episode he does. The ending is the best part, it leaves one guessing as to what will happen to the unit, and is the final scene really what it looks like.

An excellent episode that is filled with suspense from start to finish.

Mom: Mozzarella Sticks and a Gay Piano Bar
(2015)
Episode 3, Season 3

Sometimes a cheese stick is just a cheese stick
Another funny episode of Mom. Between them helping Jodie get back on her feet to helping someone else who they assumed was an acholic, there were plenty of laughs to go around.

What prevented it from 10 was the Mr. Muchon storyline which got really old, really quick.

Mom: My Kinda People and the Big To-Do
(2021)
Episode 18, Season 8

Must, Must See
This was a wonderful written final. As the song from the Lion King Goes, Its the Circle of Life. That is the only hint I will give. Again, a beautiful written show, one of the best of the series, and one of the best written series finals I have seen. Just be sure to grab a Kleenex, you will need it.
