The Matrix
(1999)

Best fight sequences
While the plot wasn't as compelling, the fight sequences in this film have never since been beat

Forrest Gump
(1994)

Multiple feels
You'll laugh, cry and be on the edge of your seat. Tom Hanks does a beautiful job in this classic

Se7en
(1995)

Great crime thriller
Freeman and Pitt are a formiddible combo in this bleak dystopian crime film about a serial killer who kills in the name of 7 deadly sins. Such a unique concept.

The Silence of the Lambs
(1991)

Disturbing
This is one of the most disturbing films of last century next to the exorcist. Hopkins acting is perhaps too flawless in this psychological cannibal thriller

Fight Club
(1999)

Favorite
Definitely my favorite film of all time. Suspensefiul, funny, action packed and thrilling film that takes some unexpected twists and turns

The Shawshank Redemption
(1994)

Pioneering
This film paved the way for prison films and series of a similar style. The acting was beautifully done. A bit too long- my only gripe

The Dark Knight
(2008)

Credit is due but not the best
While the actors and director did a fine job - this film did lose my focus at times with slow pacing and a lot of still cinematography

Bohemian Rhapsody
(2018)

magnificent
Malek portrayed Freddy perfectly and the film as a whole plucked some emotional heartstrings while playing all our favorite classic queen songs

Green Book
(2018)

Enjoyable
While the decision for best film is contentious - I still enjoyed this film with a message about treatment of another race. It's a comedic and sad reminder of how we shouldn't be in the modern era. Well acted and directed.

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
(1993)

Ok
Maybe I'm just biased as a person who has never liked Superman. Frankly the premise of glasses affecting anyone's recognition of you is just ludicrous. Still- the nemeses were intriguing and the acting wasn't too bad

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
(1995)

Sigh
I used to love the Hercules cartoons and comics growing up. Between this series and the film, they completely ruined my childhood nostalgia

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
(1997)

Dull
I know Buffy pioneered the vampire series but I found the lead to be annoying and not at all inspiring - angel over Buffy any day

Angel
(1999)

The best
In terms of original vampire series, angel dominates the scene with great acting and unique characters

True Blood
(2008)

Potential lost
A series that started off so well fell onto its back and couldn't get up. Intriguing universe created and marred by plotholes and uninspiring conclusions

Scarface
(1983)

Al Pacino
He definitely grew into his shell as a mean mobster guy from his humble godfather beginnings. Great film

Casino
(1995)

Ouch
Joe Pesci is a beast in this film! The ending was kind of a letdown though

Shame
(2011)

Odd film
A film about sex addiction. It's bleak and at times, you're not sure whether to laugh or cringe. A very strange film led by Fassbender who does a great job in the role.

Blue Valentine
(2010)

Very depressing
Watching the deconstruction of a relationship piece by piece. It's painful to watch and yet so beautifully done.

The Place Beyond the Pines
(2012)

Odd pacing
The film is kind of split in two and although it's beautifully made, the pacing is off and you kind of lose track of the characters. Still worth a watch with a great leading cast

Chopper
(2000)

Disturbing
Bana does an awesome job of getting us into the mind of a would-be or alleged killer who clearly had some kind of mental disorder. Wonderful film

Le Cinquième Élément
(1997)

Love it
Such a great film. Tucker and Willis are the stars in my book! Comedy and fantasy sci fi all rolled into one!

Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn
(2012)

Visually good, story bad
I wish filmmakers would leave games alone. While this film is ok, I would much rather have seen this played out in game-form and with a bit more flesh to the characters that can be achieved through a gaming experience.

Rogue One
(2016)

Over 1 bln dollars in sales...
Hard to believe this episode of the series made so much. The plot wasn't particularly exciting. The series has become heavily monopolised and not at all what George Lucas' vision of Star Wars once was. Such a shame. In saying that, the special effects and every other element of an ideal film were there.

Mad Max: Fury Road
(2015)

No story but great film
Can it be? A great film without much plot? Well Mad Max pulls it off. You won't be bored at any time despite the writing being minimal and heavily dependent on postproduction.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
(2001)

Great
I did enjoy the voice acting and animation for a game that was definitely one of my favourites! It wasn't perfect, but it did hit home for me as a fan of the series.
