Vicky Donor
(2012)

Once you get past the unbearable first half, it's actually a good movie.
Seeing Vicky coming to the bank just to talk to her, even after she repeatedly saying no, I wondered why she didn't get a restriction order, and get the crap over with? Then I realised I have been watching too many sensible Hollywood movies, and this kind of romance (read borderline stalking/harassment) is the backbone of Indian cinema romance. And of course yes any jobless shmoe could get a beautiful educated lady to fall for him. Please don't ask any questions. That's how it is. And of course a lady with a bank job would never ask her boyfriend more about his job, than "business" and how he has got so much sparetime. Now if we wipe all that dirt away, the picture beneath is really beautiful. I enjoyed the movie from the point where Vicky admits he is a sperm donor. I would never have expected Bollywood cinema to make movies like Vicky Donor and Badhaai ho. It's a definite improvement and I love it. Though still quite far away from including sex education in the syllabus, mass media of course is the first step. Aside from cheesy dialogs like "without ashima ghar is not ghar", "i can't live without her" etc Ayushmann's performance was really good. I loved the character of Ashima's father. They've taken care not to make characters too one-dimensional. Mr. Chadda's genuine care for Vicky, Ashima's understandable insecurity and Vicky's change of behaviour, to a higher level of maturity is all heartwarming. The final scene is gold. I rated it a 6, because although a foray in terms of theme/story, for Bollywood, it seems incapable for them to free from certain shackles of illogical, conventional story arcs. Something, movies like Andhadhun and Kaabil could acheive, starring both actors.

Diagnosis: Unknown
(2002)

Too long, otherwise really informative.
No nonsense presentation, often tends to make us root for the patients, and always has atleast a tiny element of surprise. Future doctors must watch!

Theri
(2016)

Dont waste your time.
4 stars for that little kid. Everything else is not worth watching.

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya
(2019)

First part could have been cut short. Good watch though.
Pls do not get put off by the incredibly boring and cringe funny scenes in the first 45 mins. The remaining part is an entirely different, thrilling masterpiece with plottwists around every curve. Must watch.

Game Over
(2019)

Must watch on the edge movie that makes you think.
Okay, watch out for spoilers. This is not a review, just an interpretation. Cuz others have given beautifully enough.

1. There's an Easter egg at 34th minute. A poster that says "Video games ruined my life, Good thing I have two more" showing 2 hearts and a fading heart. 2. The intermittent pain started 1 year after. Amutha is actually trying to talk to her, or connect in some way, when she realises that Swapna is weak, presently. 3. The last scene shows Amutha's pic fallen from the black guy's pocket. Meaning all this was Amutha's doing at some level, to show Swapna how strong she was infact. When she feared darkness at the time of New Year, Amutha showed her that, she could handle a lot more than darkness during that time. Like Amutha got 3 chances, she was also given 3 chances.

Super Deluxe
(2019)

Absolute must watch.
This movie sets many things straight. Dont expect anything exciting. If you do it is not your problem, thats just how Indian cinema has "trained us" to expect. The movie as such has a flat mood throughout, not much emotions. It delivers the unexpected so efficiently, that we are awestruck at the messages that it conveys, and how hard it strikes us. This can actually set straight some mindsets.

It's soooo..... sooooo.... sooo.....real. Surprising us every now and then, yet emotionless movie. This could be an everyday life and never be an everyday life at the same time. Absolute must watch.

Virus
(2019)

Surprisingly compelling!
This movie about the Nipah outbreak in Kerala, is not a commercial flick(obviously), has no songs, stunt scenes or punch dialogues. Comedy is sparse. We know the end of course. One of those few golden movies, that keeps our eyes glued to screen without romance-comedy-suspense-action. 5/5 for the originality. Good acting and cinematography. It does not revolve around Sister Lini as you would expect it to. The work that went behind containing the epidemic is commendably well depicted. Emotions, mostly the grief of the kith and kin is portrayed well. The fear of the public, the awareness part, the empty, otherwise chronically busy streets, markets, the stares you get if you cough without covering your mouth, were some additional aspects that could have been added. This is Nipah epidemic control, from the view point of all levels of health sector, from the minister to the daily wage workers. It could have covered the fear of public better, but this of course can be overlooked. Fear of the 35 million. Fight of the health care workers the affected the family. Survival of the few, which gives us hope. This movie will be worth your time.

Vellaipookal
(2019)

Good plotline. Kind of okay. A little dragging
Very intriguing clot. The parallel, story is good too. Totally unexpected. Vivek's acting is good too. Cinematography sucks like hell. Others acting too, not worth watching.
