South Park: Joining the Panderverse
(2023)

Not perfect but on the mark
Maybe it was the hype, but I expected better. It is good, but not great. (South Park's send-up of Harry and Meagan was GREAT!) I do recommend people see it if they can find a way to get access to Paramount+

The way they treat Kathleen K is OK, though the out they giver her at the end - probably required but disappointing to people who don't like what she has done - was a let-down.

The treatment of Bob Iger was spot on As were the Disney Executives who don't understand why making the same movie, over and over and over again isn't working.

The side story of college generating a lot of people with no valuable skills could have been left out. It seemed like an after thought, that could have been better treated as a stand alone episode.

Sicario
(2015)

Shock value is all they want
Severed limbs. Decomposing corpses. Highway blood bath. If that's what you want, you get all of that in the first 40 minutes.

The problem is, I don't care about any of these people. Not the protagonist, or the anti-hero guy.

Batwoman
(2019)

I can't believe this went for 3 seasons
I made it about 1/3 the way thru the 1st season.

The cast was good. The sets and costumes were good. The writing was awful. I mean bottom of the barrel, looking up at horrible bad writing.

I was not surprised when Ruby Rose left.

I was surprised they tried for season 2.

Eternals
(2021)

Special Effects Cannot Substitute for Writing
And the writing was bad.

The acting wasn't great overall. A couple of good performances, and a bunch of people going through the motions.

In the end, I didn't care about any of these people.

Charmed
(2018)

I really wanted to like this show, but destroying the past is what Hollywood does today
I've accepted that Hollywood and TV producers have no original thoughts, but why do they hate all of the intellectual property that they've inherited?

As someone else said, why did the 3 witches have to be told about their powers than discover them. Why does the whitelighter remind me more of Rupert Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer than Leo from the original Charmed? Probably because the people involved in producing this show can't be bothered to watch the original.

And I know I'm going to be hit with Social Justice, but when your entire premise is to hit me over the head with Social Justice, eventually I will stop watching. (There is a way to do it without getting carried away, but this show doesn't seem to know how to do that.)

Road to Perdition
(2002)

Wonderful and Complex
Great story, great acting, great cinematography.

There is blood, but given the nature of the story, there is very little. The focus is on the story and the characters. The father and son trying to connect, the father trying to protect his family, loyalty. All of these things make the film worth watching.

Seems like it could have been shot in the 30s or 40s. The film seems to capture what I believe was the feeling of the Depression. It is worth seeing for the cars and the costumes alone. But Tom Hanks, Jude Law, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Paul Newman all give outstanding performances.
