Ricky's monologue

The celebrities in attendance braced for impact when it came to host Ricky Gervais, and he went all-in for a roast of a monologue. Gervais poked fun of the network the show aired on, NBC, for having zero nominations; joked about Caitlyn Jenner's driving record; laughed at the idea that The Martian as a comedy; talked about Jeffrey Tambor's balls; made an off-color joke combining Spotlight and director Roman Polanski; mocked Jennifer Lawrence's quest to secure equal pay for women in Hollywood, and threw in a line about Sean Penn's interview with El Chapo. He also kept it sophomoric with a joke about shoving his own Golden Globe awards up his butt. "And they've asked me to host four times!" he marveled. Should they bring him back for a fifth year?
