According to our Top 10 Now app, which shows how stars, TV shows, and movies trend based on real-time IMDb traffic, check out who made it all the way to the top during Comic-Con 2017. The following is ranked in order of duration in the No. 1 spot.
The war for the Iron Throne was more captivating than the MCU and the DCEU combined, as "Game of Thrones" lorded over everything happening at Comic-Con this year. Looking at our trending data, the HBO juggernaut never slipped from the No. 1 overall slot (we looked at both name and title data), and this was before we even got to see the incredible at-sea battle between The Dorne/Greyjoy alliance and Euron Greyjoy's sneaky battleship on the magnificent episode, "Stormborn."
The actress/model proved she didn't even have to be at Comic-Con to top our trending list, as the Valerian co-star was promoting her movie in Europe with director Luc Besson and her on-screen partner Dane DeHaan. Technically speaking, she spent just under 30 hours as the top trending Comic-Con attraction.
Another absentee this year was Brie Larson, aka Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. While we didn't get an audience with the Oscar winner, juicy Captain Marvel details — from its 1990s setting to its race of villains, the Skrulls, an old-school Marvel band of shape-shifting aliens who have built an outer-space empire over hundreds of years — put Brie at the top of our trending data for just over five hours.
Who knows exactly what the future holds for The Mother of Dragons, but Emilia Clarke came out on top of her "Game of Thrones" co-stars at Comic-Con; she wore the trending-star crown for nearly five hours. And let's not forget that her appearance in the upcoming Han Solo movie has rabid interest as well.
Looks like "Inhumans" might already have its breakout star, as the fantastically named Serinda Swan earned her first spot on our trending list, where she topped the charts for slightly under four hours.
Wonder Woman became the best-performing summer movie at the U.S. box office over Comic-Con weekend, Gal Gadot captivated the IMDb audience on stage at the Warner Bros. panel, where the WW sequel was confirmed and the first Justice League footage helped DC maintain an edge on Marvel this year.
Charlize's summer of action-movie stardom continues as The Fate of the Furious baddie unveiled Atomic Blonde at Comic-Con (more on the movie in a moment). Her Hall H appearance as part of the "Women Who Kick Ass Panel" was a highlight of the weekend, where she stoked her fanbase with her intellect ... and thigh-high leather boots.
Though we'll miss Gazelle while watching Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Sofia Boutella has proven that she's not disappearing in real life, as her steamy scenes with Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde are just one of many reasons she landed another spot in our top 10 this year (she ranked at No. 3 on our 2016 list).
Universal Pictures took over an entire San Diego theater and showed Atomic Blonde on eight screens to Comic-Con attendees. And there's no doubt that Furiosa's legion of fans are part of the reason why the movie and its stars occupy so much space on our list. Could Charlize have a second action franchise on her hands?
