- The foreman of a jury asks questions that send a woman to the electric chair for a murder committed in the heat of passion. On the night of the execution, his actions come back to haunt him.

Then there is Sally's new flame Jimmy Brett, a con man and gentlemen thief, who has out-tricked Lother in a fixed poker game, and is, together with shorty, after the ladies jewels. Inspector McKinney suspects Joe Saunders, a recently released convict, who was arrested due to some tips by Lother, but Ned and Sally insist that they committed the crime alone.
- Guests at a luxury hotel are horrified when they witness a man literally "disappear into thin air." The vanished man's relatives hire a detective, who goes to the hotel to investigate the disappearance.
- Barbara "Babs" Penfield is trying to convince her father, laundry-magnate F. Thorndyke Penfield, to invest money in a proposition from her sweetheart Rodney Randall. Her father refuses as he knows Randall is a fortune hunter, as did any 30's audience once Bradley Page appeared on the scene. While Penfield hurries out to award the Penfield Prize for Service at his laundry, Babs, finding her allowance has been stopped by her father, tries to sell her car to raise cash to give to Randall. While Babs is talking to the car dealer in his shop, "Con" Cornelius, just out of jail, sells the car, pockets the cash and makes a getaway. The car is bought by Jerry Bassett, who has just won the Penfield $1,000 Service and has quit his job at the laundry. (So much for service awards.) Jerry drives his flashy car to the Royal Valley, a swanky resort, where Randal is awaiting financial help from Barbara. Jerry meets Barbara on the road and gives her a lift to the hotel, thinking she is on her way there to apply for a job, and is surprised to later see her as a guest. Some things happen, Barbara sees Randall for what he really is, and decides she'd rather marry Jerry and keep the family laundry business in the hands of a real laundryman... even one who bails out when he gets his hands on a few bucks.

- Money was what gangster Vince M. Falcone wanted most and he did lay hands on millions of dollars by fair means or (mostly) foul. But once he became rich what he craved for was respectability. So why not marry a lovely society lady? And with a young daughter as a bonus Mister Falcone could show off among the creme de la creme. Of course when times got rough he felt free to desert his wife and little girl. Fortunately "Traps," a lawyer working for the underworld, will console them both.

- The relatives of a recently deceased man named Kovac gather at is creepy mansion for the reading of the will. Before the will can be read, however, the relatives began to be murdered one by one.
- Prizefighter Bob Neal (Ray Walker) is in debt to gangster Vic Santell (Hooper Atchley) for training expenses. Santell orders Bob to take a dive in the fourth round so Santell can recoup prior gambling losses. Taunted by his ring opponent, Bob wins the fight. Realizing that his profession and underworld characters connected to it are causing him problems, Bob decides to join the police force. After taking nurse Mary Prentiss (Geneva Mitchell) to a drive-in restaurant where the total bill is a depression-era cheap eighty-two cents, Bob and his fellow officers round-up a gang of fur thieves in a warehouse shoot-out.

Bob comes to her defense and confesses to the shooting. The father prosecutes the son who receives a life imprisonment sentence. Jack Keene's butler Druggett knows the truth and blackmails Esther. Bob's girlfriend Peg Harper summons John Clay to the scene...
- Jerry Hampden, a young female reporter for a large newspaper, comes up with her first scoop - a suicide precipitated by a lover who lost interest. The publisher nixes the story because the perpetrator is the influential owner of a large department store chain. When she lets the publisher know her displeasure, she is canned on the spot. Needing a job somewhere far from the city, her beau sets her up with an offer to be an editor for a small town newspaper, the Advocate in Apex, California. Her first name of Jerry gets her in the door for an interview. The Advocate's owner, Sam Webster, is not pleased to see that he has offered the editor position to a woman. She lets him know that she is the "best editor in the world", that he would do well to let her have a month's trial. He agrees. She is able to turn the tide on paper's ledger. There is a big story brewing in the community. Many people have invested in a wildcat oil well drilling. The local banker has drawn in many local investors in return form a share of the investment funds. He fully expects the well to fail. Much to his surprise, the well hits a strong pocket of oil. He tries to suppress news of the discovery while he tries to quietly buy back some of the shares. Jerry blows the lid off his scheme. He threatens to take over the newspaper from Sam. But Jerry has the upper hand. Part of the oil take-over scheme is the same department store owner whose story led to her firing. In addition, she has evidence of a false report of the well failing on bank stationery. The two shysters are forced to sign agreements that will help the locals, not exploit them.
- When the Mountie Sergeant returns murdered with a note that LaFarge did it, Trooper Burke sets out to after LaFarge. Working undercover, he saves LaFarge's life and this gets him into LaFarge's gang. He then arrests LaFarge and brings him in only to learn that LaFarge is not only innocent but is now a prisoner of the real killer.

The story follows the activities of his accomplices who escape, led by Daniel Treve. Daniel and a gang-member hide out in a small Connecticut town, where Danny marries a local girl, Mary Gate, when her guardians try to railroad her in a reform school when she refuses to marry their son. She is the innocent means by which Danny gets the stolen jewels to New York. Danny tells her he only went through with the marriage to save her, and gives her money to live on until she can obtain a position. He them leaves New York determined to quit the rackets and make himself worthy of her. She then provides the way in which he can.
- A cowboy finds himself in jail for rustling cattle. His buddy gets the idea to form a lynch mob in the hopes of arranging his escape once the mob takes him out of jail. However, things don't quite work out the way he planned.
- A man, his wife and his best friend are aboard a yacht at sea that later gets shipwrecked. The husband soon starts to resent the attention paid to his wife by his friend.
- A man posing as Mark Henry is after Henry's oil land but Henry's niece is part owner and he needs to marry her off to his henchman Slager. Mountie Jim Sullivan arives posing as a wanted man and is soon caught up in the plot when Slager, wanting everything for himself, kills his boss and makes Jim a prisoner.

- Homer Tompkins, a trusting young musician with aspirations of becoming a radio star, is installed in a fine set of offices in Reno by a quartet of "easy money" con artists who have bugged rooms and suites, with the title of "professional listener", and he passes off what he hears to his employers--Lulu, Trixie, Maurice, and Champ--and they use the information for blackmail purposes. They also so involve his sweetheart, Toots, that he cannot withdraw even when he finally learns he is being used as a tool.
- The female head of a criminal gang in Chinatown is after a valuable jewel, and lets nothing stand in her way of finding it.
- A young girl is marooned on a desert island after her ship sinks. A tramp steamer sailing near the site of the wreckage recovers some valuable emeralds. When the woman is found on the island, some of the crew members plot to steal the emeralds.
- A deranged killer escapes into the Canadian woods. He tries to fool the locals by pretending he is a well known mystery writer, but the local Mountie starts to get suspicious.
- Gigolo Paul Dtexel (Reginald Denny) makes his living escorting wealthy women to dance halls. One night he meets Diana Trevor (Judith Allen), they fall in love, but much to Diana's horror, she discovers that her stepmother, Tamara (Natalie Moorhead), is one of Paul's longtime clients. When Tamara mysteriously ends up dead, Paul is suspected of murder. Diana works desperately to clear his name.
- A music professor is fired from his job for not knowing enough about modern "swing" music. He goes to Chicago to learn more about the subject in hopes of getting his job back, but he winds up getting mixed up with gangsters.
- While the commander of the British Army in Arabia, Major J. W. Courtney, is out in the desert chasing marauding tribesmen, his wife carries on an affair with Captain Randall. Courtney returns to the outpost ahead of time and the wife takes refuge in the quarters of Lieutenant W.B. Lawrence. Lawrence, maintaining the silence (and stiff upper lip) that his code of honor dictates is drummed out of the service. He joins the forces of El Rahman and becomes a sheik of the desert. Warfare, instigated by Randall, breaks out between the troops and the tribesmen and ends when the mortally wounded Randall confesses to his dastardly deeds, the least of which included making love to his commander's wife.
- After a plane makes an emergency landing, passengers take refuge in a deserted house, but one of them is a killer.

A paroled convict comes back to the hotel to find stolen funds he hid there years earlier. He saves a woman from suicide, unaware that she has been hired by crooks to spirit the loot away from him. This early Tiffany talkie is pretty good. 16mm.
