- A con artist masquerades as Russian nobility and attempts to seduce the wife of an American diplomat.
- A French professor and his daughter accompany Captain Nemo on an adventure aboard a submarine.
- Billings and Meeker are two brow-beaten husbands who are dominated by their wives. The women are leaders in a "Rights for Women" club, and they neglect their household duties to show the way to their sisters in the cause. On the day of an important meeting of the club, Billings and Meeker are forced to listen to harsh words from their wives and are in rebellious spirits and ripe for mutiny. The occasion presents itself for an attractive looking young woman calls on Billings soliciting funds for a charitable institution. Billings is favorably impressed and besides his wife has just given him a curtain lecture. The girl is susceptible to flattery, and before she leaves, the henpecked husband has arranged a little supper, at which Meeker and her chum are to be guests. Telephones are brought into requisition and the affair is arranged to the joy of the two husbands. They repair to the restaurant appointed and have an uneasy half hour waiting for their fair guests. In the meantime their wives are spellbinding the members of the club at a stormy session. The young women arrive at the café and the dinner proceeds. Meeker succumbs to the influence of the wine and becomes tipsy. Just about this time a young man calls and takes the solicitor and her chum away. Billings pays the check out of Meeker's wallet and lugs him to his home, lying him on a couch. Mrs. Billings returns and Billings eludes her. She sees Meeker just as his wife calls. Billings bursts in and accuses his wife of an affair with his friend. The women indulge in a hair-pulling match whereat the men wax jubilant, and the scene closes with the husbands getting good and even with their wives.

- Thus far Sophie has failed completely as a motion picture actress. She has spoiled every scene, but through the general manager she is to be given one more chance. She is sent to the border to act in Mexican war pictures. The director has no appetite for real war so he hires a band of cowboys to impersonate first the border guards and then the Mexican soldiery. They then begin to enact a series of blood-curdling melodrama of fearful massacre and carnage. Mexican girls mistake what is going on for a real American invasion and General Wienerwurst, the Mexican commander, is notified. Wienerwurst and his command make war upon the motion picture people and another beautiful feature is ruined. The actors and director barely escape with their lives. When they finally arrive at the studio, poor Sophie is fired. She returns to the old homestead. Her sorrow is lessened, however, when she is given her old job in a laundry. It is said that forever after she never grew weary of recalling the days when she was a leading lady.

While Magnolia is still hard at work training with some dummies, hubby gets a note from Nicholas Nutmeg inviting him to a game of poker, but also inviting his little bank roll. Magnolia sees the note, becomes furious, and here follow some lively chases which end with hubby in jail and Magnolia trying hard to enlist in the army.

- The boob is working in a country grocery store. One day, a farmer gets in an argument with him. Words lead to a fight and the farmer chases the boob out and up the street. In his endeavor to escape be jumps into an auto driven by a girl from the city who lives near the store. The girl assists him to escape. In the girl the boob sees the girl of his dreams, but in him the girl sees merely a boob. A traveling show comes to town and advertises for extra people for their show. The boob applies and gets the job. After several blunders he gets his part and comes out on the stage. The girl and her father are in the audience and see the boob make an ass of himself. A fire breaks out in the theater during which there is a stampede for the exits. The girl is left in the burning theater. Her father tries to save her but cannot face the flames. The boob rushes in and saves the girl's life. Shortly afterward, the girl and her father leave for the city and leave a note for the boob. The girl tells him that if he ever comes to the city to be sure and call upon her. Enclosed in the note he finds a check from her father telling him to use his own judgment in disposing of the money, but he would suggest that he use it in getting an education. The girl in the city grows tired of society life and longs for a real man. The shallow life and selfishness of the people she comes in contact with disgusts her. The boob has taken the girls advice and secured a college education. He returns to her rejuvenated and she is very much surprised at the change in him. The boob has indeed become another man. With the development of his mind, his character and even looks have changed. In him the girl sees all that she has been wishing for.

Bruce Weston is a member of the diamond syndicate, but was not a party to the ruin of Harvey. He falls in love with Doris and assists her in fighting the gang sent by the syndicate to obtain incriminating papers left by her father. The trend of events takes all of the principal characters to the diamond mines of Africa. Doris is captured by natives in the jungle and set up as their ruler.
- John Wesley Pringle, adventurer at large, returns home after making his strike and finds his old girl friend, Stella, engaged to Christopher Foy, who is running for sheriff. Pringle foils an attempt by incumbent sheriff Matt Lisner to kill Foy, but when Foy is accused of a murder, Pringle, in a clever ruse, captures Foy, holds the posse at gunpoint, and then releases him, explaining his motive. Lisner is summarily dealt with, and Pringle returns to his mine.
- All the men in the neighborhood love Bess, the daughter of the Mayor of Rockville, but she treats them coldly. Among this number is Jack Dayton, a son of Old Ireland known as the "No-Gun-Man" and Lesparre, leader of the Coyote gang. Lesparre brings his gang to town, holds up the bartender, secures all the whiskey they want, then robs the bank belonging to the Mayor, who offers $5,000 reward for the return of the stolen property. Jack's great desire is to get enough money to send to his mother in Ireland, to pay for the cottage in which she lives; so he starts after the bandits unarmed, although he is urged to take a gun. In the meantime, Lesparre has also kidnapped Bess and taken her to a place in the hills known as Coyote Hole. When Jack learns of this, he redoubles his efforts. He allows himself to be captured by the bandits, and on being taken before the chief, tells him he wishes to join the gang, and the chief finally consents. As soon as everyone is asleep, Jack enters the room in which Bess is imprisoned, and helps her to escape. He then wraps his blanket about him again and goes to sleep. In the morning the loss of the girl is discovered and Jack is suspected, and is locked in the room in which Bess was imprisoned. He finds the money and papers hidden in the bed, watches his chance, attacks the two men who are guarding him, defeats them after a desperate fight and escapes with the money. He reaches the railroad and climbs on a passing freight train. The gang follows closely, and after a fight, Jack throws Lesparre off the train, He finally reaches Rock River, is acclaimed a hero, returns the money and papers to the Mayor, and receives the girl in exchange.

The company goes to the seashore. Sophie is tied to a wave-lashed rock and left there while the rest of the company enacts additional scenes. A fisherman discovers the helpless girl by means of a spy-glass. The director and his company are arrested on a charge of murder.

At the last minute, while the villain is gloating over his victory, Sophie grabs the saw and stops it. She was afraid; another scene ruined. In the insanity of desperation, the director takes Sophie to a pier and makes her jump off. At last he believes himself rid of her. But he is wrong. Eddie, the leading man, rescues her. The unhappy girl has sacrificed much for greatness, but her cup of mishap is not yet full. The general manager rushes up, waving a telegram. War has been declared in Mexico. Sophie is given another span of life as an actress. She and the company are dispatched to the border to take war pictures.

Out of revenge, he steals an important document from Hagane; believing that his wife has acted in dishonor, Hagane agrees to trade Yuki for the paper. Worn out with grief and struggling against her love for Pierre, Yuki kills herself, and Hagane delivers the body to her true love.

The result of Pat's popularity has been to give the spirited girl an excellent opinion of herself, and when Phil Kelly snubs her she resents it and resolves to go to any length in retaliation. Kelly is a famous detective, known all over Europe as "The Sphinx." Pat's first venture, in retaliation for Kelly's rudeness, is to steal her aunt's jewels. She then notifies Kelly. Pat hides the jewels in her dressing table drawer. They are stolen by Jacques, the butler, who takes them to the rendezvous of his fellow Apaches, the Café Chat Noir. Pat has noticed Jacques' suspicious conduct and follows him to the café. She is followed by Phil Kelly and two of his assistants. Pat is disguised as an Apache's sweetheart, and bribes her cabman to assume the role of her lover. They enter the café and participate in the festivities. Pat sees Jacques displaying to his pals the Van Nuys' heirlooms. By deftly whirling her dancing partner to the table where Jacques sits, she manages to stumble and strike the butler's arm. The jewels fall from Jacques' hands. Pat picks them up and as she is leaving the place Phil Kelly confronts her. In her surprise, Pat drops the gems upon the steps. She dodges past the detective and makes her way home. Kelly observes the jewels lying on the ground, and pocketing them, departs.

- Manoah and his wife mourn deeply because both have passed the middle-age mark and remain childless. The angel also declares that the son shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines. In due time Manoah's wife has a son and names him Samson. As he grows to manhood, his extraordinary strength is the marvel of his parents and the community. When he has attained a man's estate he goes to Timmath, where he meets and learns to love Zorah, a Philistine's beautiful daughter. Samson overcomes his father's objections to his marrying a Philistine maiden, and he conducts his parents to Timmath that they may see his bride. While they are nearing the Vineyard of Timmath a young lion roars at Samson. He becomes imbued with the spirit of the Lord, and after struggling with the beast he breaks its jaws. Arrived at Timmath with his parents the nuptial feast is arranged for and the betrothal is announced. During the interim before his marriage, Samson returns to the spot where he slew the lion and finds that bees have gathered there and have deposited honey in the carcass, Thus at his wedding feast he proposes to his guests the riddle, "Out of the eater came forth meat and out of the strong came forth sweetness," and he offers to give to him who solves the riddle 30 sheets and 30 changes of garments. Unable to answer the riddle, the Philistines go to Zorah, and threaten her with death unless she draws Samson out and obtains for them the answer. She fights against their threats and persuasions but she finally weakens and after obtaining the answer from Samson she tells the Philistines. When the final day arrives and they answer the riddle Samson is deeply wrought up against his wife because he realizes her deceit. In his anger he renounces her and leaves her with her father. However, when his anger cools he returns and wishes to become reconciled. But in the meantime Zorah's father has given her to another. Samson's anger knows no bounds and he goes into the cornfields of the Philistines' and applies the fire brand. Driven to despair, the Philistines blame Zorah's father as the author of their misfortunes and they burn his house consuming Zorah and her father. Weary of the world, Samson seeks a cave on the top of the rock of Etan and dwells there. But the Philistines cannot rest in their hatred for Samson. They gather an army together and go to take their revenge on their enemy and upon the field of Ramath-Lehi, Samson meets the army of the Philistines and single-handed, with the jawbone of an ass he gives them battle, slaying a thousand soldiers in putting the remainder to flight. Samson then goes to the city of Gaze and strikes terror into the hearts of the people by his feats of strength. Sihon, the ruler of the Philistines, plots to take Samson prisoner, and he has the gates of the city locked against him. But when Samson is ready to leave, he wrenches the huge gates from their hinges and carries them away. Samson now meets the beautiful Delilah and is fascinated by her charms. Neither is she blind to the beauty or his strength and she receives him with favor. Making capital of their love Sihon entices Delilah to ascertain from Samson wherein his great strength lies. She refuses but Sihon convinces her that it is a matter of loyalty to her religion and people and she consents. She leads him to her home and employs her charms to fascinate him and she soothes and coaxes him as only a woman can until he is overcome and tells her: "There hath not come a razor upon mine head. If I be shaven then my strength will go from me." Then a prey to her seductions, he falls asleep and she cuts off his locks and summons Sihon and the soldiers. Then Samson is bound and thrown into prison where his eyes are put out with hot irons. He is then made to grind in the prison house and he is whipped as he works like an animal. When Samson's strength is gone he is for the moment forgotten and as the time passes his hair begins to grow out again. And when Samson's hair is again grown out the Philistines gather in the Temple and make merry and call for Samson that he may make sport for them. Samson is taken from the prison and led into the temple by a small boy. He is jeered and hooted at by the Philistines and is made to bow and do homage to Dagon the fishguard. Then Samson whispers to his boy guide to lead him to the sustaining pillars of the temple that he may lean upon them. Samson now calls upon the Lord for strength that he may be avenged for the loss of his eyes. The populace are wild with insane joy as they behold the once mighty man now their clown. As they rail and jeer him he places his mighty shoulders to the huge pillars. The frenzied mocking is frozen upon their lips and there is an awful silence. Then the massive pillars totter and crumble before his touch, the magnificent temple curves, collapses and tumbles upon the multitude. In that hour of death, the old, blind, dying Samson totters and crawls over the ruins until he finds a certain form, Delilah, and he falls upon the body of the faithless one he loved.
- It was his wedding day, but he wandered from the wayside and dropped into one of his old haunts, where he partook of a little more than was good for him. The bride, knowing his haunts, after an hour or two of waiting, decides to call up his old place and find if he is there. She begged him to hurry home, but he was in no condition to be called sweet names and resented her interference. He wandered out into the park, where he found some girls to his liking, but hardly had he got started to making love before the husband of one of the girls, a very bad man, came on the scene and it was curtains for the groom. He hurried to the side of his fiancée, whom he knew he could bluff. The wedding was hastened with all speed and the groom immediately appropriated his little wife's hard-earned savings and back to Mike's place he went. The bride gives up her flat and returns home. The mercenary landlady soon afterwards rented the flat to a man who happened to be the bad man the groom bad encountered that morning in the park. Later at night the groom, after a hard evening, decided that he would return home to his little wife. Not knowing that his flat had been rented to others, he entered and got into bed with the bad man. There was some excitement. Wife and brother entered just in time to avert a murder.
