- The 16th film in the Troublesome Night series brings back regulars Simon Loui, Lan Law, Kai Fai Tong and Ho Lung Cheung in a story that takes place in the Sung Dynasty. There, they encounter the characters of the famous Chinese Story "The Water Margin," a story that takes place about a thousand years ago in ancient China involving a cruel government, con artists, a beautiful but crafty village girl and a sword-wielding martial artist trying to overcome all the adversaries.
- Two women face relationship issues and deal with loneliness in different ways.
- Bud Pitt and his girlfriend Moon leave the city and move to the countryside to start a new chapter in their lives. At the village, they meet their new, cheery neighbor Olive. However, Bud is suspicious of Olive when she roams the streets at night, seemingly developing a multiple and mystifying personality. In addition, Pitt and Moon is uncomfortable with the eerie atmosphere of the village. As a result, Pitt pins his hope on his mother, who has expertise in the supernatural.
- A group of prisoners were doing a variety of activities on the courtyard. Big Fool (William Ho) and Crazy Bill (Tommy Wong) were playing basketball where Bill kicks the ball towards Tung (Ben Wong), who kicks it away. Bill felt humiliated by it and stars a fight with Tung where Tung ends out hospitalized. During hospitalization, Tung thinks about the time when his family moved to another house and opened a food stall nearby. However, their stall was burnt by triad leader Sing (Bill Lung), who constantly bullies Tung's family and also raped Tung's girlfriend, Sau (Iris Wong). Unable to tolerate Sing's bullying, Tung kills Sing by chopping him to death, which leads Tung to being imprisoned.
- Young office employees and a gay delivery boy who wants to be a dancer, all desirous of leaving their day jobs, pitch in money and number selection on a lottery ticket. Bing, who has a severe stutter, is sent to get the ticket, and refuses to supply it. His co-workers, all staying late at night to finish a proposal for their manager, Gloria, torture him in order to make him supply the ticket, even attempting to get him to sign an insurance policy before they kill him. All the while, they try to avoid getting caught by Gloria, who expects them to be working.
- A handsome hustler tricks a beautiful restauranteur into loaning him 2 million HK dollars. He then drugs her, brings her to an abandoned beach and kills her. After some teenagers discover the body, her spirit returns to take revenge on the man who wronged her by possessing the bodies of other girls.
- The Jail has a new inmate, Uncle Pui. He got a life-time lock up since he was charged with murder of his daughter.
- Boni Mok is a depressed and hard-working advertising exec who's ideas have just been plagiarized and presented to her superiors by her lazy and self-absorbed subordinates before she is aware of this. Boni is then accused of plagiarizing her fellow employees and is dismissed. Boni goes home and falls asleep. When she wakes up, she discovers she is repeating the previous day somehow. She is inexplicably forced to repeat the same day (March 19) over and over again until she may discover who wronged her. As Boni relives the same day she becomes closer to her subordinates and digs her way out of her depression.
- Fung, a gang leader sentenced to life imprisonment, gradually turns to religion. With the help of a priest, Fung begins to preach to his fellow cellmates. But the toughest skeptic turns out to be his own son, who is now in the same prison.

- A boss and his employees take an excursion to Cheung Chou, an island off the coast of Hong Kong. There, the boss meets and courts a young woman, and is completely oblivious of her past. Meanwhile, while the employees try to enjoy their weekend adventure without their employer, they encounter abnormal events and the young woman may be a link to them.
- Liu Ah Yee goes to the Bud household to worship the Buddha and to have her fortune told, but Mrs. Bud tells her it is not necessary. Ms. Liu is a compulsive gambler on the cruise ship Neptune, where Mrs. Bud's son, Pit, works, and he recognizes her. Pit has stretched the truth to his girlfriend, Moon Ah Say, about his job, so she thinks he's working in stocks, and she gets quite perturbed when he discovers that he is trying to help Ah Yee, who never wins, and whose grandmother, her only living relative, is dying. She returns to the Buds for help with her gambling, but Mrs. Bud gives her a egimen of alternatives to get her to stop gambling. Only after completing this regimen does Ms. Liu explain why gambling was so important to her.
- An amnesiac woman falls for the man who rescued her from a hit-and-run accident.
- When Man (Natalie Ng) accidentally asks Han to meet her in Thailand, after she mistakes him for another, the two begin to form an awkward romance. But Man's friend Yee may ruin everything when they return to Hong Kong and she tells Han that Man has cancer. Han begins a desperate search for Man, which brings him back to Thailand, where they first began their relationship.
- Ngau, a cook in the Hong Kong countryside, is trying to save his son from a vengeful evil spirit who was wronged years ago by Ngau's past life. In the process, Ngau seeks the help of Mrs. Bud Lung, who can communicate with the other side.
- Number 13 in the Troublesome Night Series see a group of friends taking a trip to Thailand, where they stumble upon a ghost of a girl who was murdered by her boss. Needless to say, the ghost wants justice.
- Christin has been working at a hotel owned by Budcasso, her friend's fiancé. When she is discovered stealing money from the hotel, she turns to her friend Zidanes for help. When Zidanes refuses, Christin decides to fake a suicide attempt, hoping Budcasso will take pity on her. Unfortunately, her plan goes wrong, and she actually kills herself. Soon after, Christin returns as a fierce ghost, and begins to kill all in her path at the hotel as a means for revenge. In the mean time, Budcasso invites his spirit-fighting ex-wife Mrs. Bud Lung (Troublesome Night regular Lan Law) to the wedding.
- Gay has been arrested for possessing drugs and is sent to prison. When Mrs. Lung visits him, she realizes that a demon is following him around, and sends Yan into the prison to help Gay. With the help of the warden, they discover the demon is a vengeful ghost of a woman whose husband was wrongfully imprisoned there, and committed suicide. All she wants to see is his grave, which should be behind the prison. But when they can't find his burial site, she unleashes her pure wrath, and no one is immune from her rage.
- A man with the ability to see ghosts gets involved with a dead female spirit and her ghostly son.
- Elaine is not confident with the people around her. She is in a relationship with a married man. However, he is having difficulty in getting a divorce from his wife who is demanding a large amount of money before she will agree.
- Fung, Lok, Calf and Singer were gangsters under Scarface Ho. They got in conflict with Wai's gang but ending up working for them instead.
