- Crooked rancher Tuck Martin is set on owning the ranch of his neighbor, "Pop" Melody. Pop's daughter Molly is in love with cowhand "Big Boy" but doesn't know that Bill Lang, her ranch foreman, is in cahoots with Martin. An attempt on Pop's life leaves him helpless, and Big Boy sets out to discover what's going on.
- Cowboy Silent Kerry falls in love with Mary Stockdale during his sojourn in the East and later rescues her from two drunks when she visits the West. It develops that Mary's father is an unwitting dupe of a gang of rustlers, and Carmencita, a dance hall girl, leads Mary to believe that she is secretly married to Kerry. Kerry and his fellow townsmen decide to rid themselves of the rustlers, whose leader, Jack Beecker, kidnaps Mary and Kerry's sister; thrilling action brings the gang to justice; Beecker falls over a cliff in a fight with Kerry.
- Convinced by a vacationing professor that he should get an education, Charles Taylor abandons his cowboy life for college. He finds that higher education involves more than books, however, when the sophomores select him as an ideal subject for hazing. Charles more than holds his own, finds it occasionally necessary to thrash Tubby Tarpley, and attracts the favor of Violet Blakely. His final triumph comes when the "Sophs" try to frame him as a burglar of the Blakely household, but a real thief happens along, and Charles captures him for the police.
