My personal list of all movies I've watched in 2025 along with a quick 1-3 sentence review or reflection on the movie. I'm targeting to watch 60 new movies this year that I've never seen (movies that I've watched previously will be noted).

Jim Carrey once again nails Dr. Robotnik (as well as Gerald Robotnik), and all the actors/actresses do a great job--Keanu Reeves is a welcome addition to the mix as Shadow. Humor is once again great (though maybe not as pronounced as earlier films) and this is an all around great film (story, music, characters etc).

In some ways it's not only a comedy but a social commentary (though maybe I'm reading too much into it). It's an interesting flick with a LOT of big names.

I was surprised to find this is based off a book...ad one I'm only mildly interested in based on this adaptation.

The relationship between the lead and his son drags the film down and there are some plot holes but overall worth watching.

It's been a while since I've seen any of the Harry Potter movies and I forgot how well done they are. This one is a personal favorite because time travel.

So many things that non-players will appreciate but dnd fans will find a ton of easter eggs embedded throughout.

The story behind this film (which of course differs) is fascinating and this movie is well-executed and a fantastic watch that leaves you with a lot of feelings and things to reflect on.

Well-executed, fantastic story, great characters and interactions and world-building. This is a must-see.

I watched the "prequel" to this film a few years ago and it really captures the feel of the movie and is just overall an amazing movie.

I appreciated the draw into unicorn folklore and overall story that tries to steer away from the stereotypical "people invested in money vs. someone wanting to do the morally right thing" even if it sticks with that motif. What drags the movie down, however, is just that. There is too much "dumb adults going after money" and only one voice of reason or boldness to say "no." Paul Rudd's character is annoying and we don't get much of any compassion for him because he's so ignorant to the feelings of his daughter.
