The Masked Singer season 9's Polar Bear was revealed to be legendary DJ and rapper Grandmaster Flash, and he's now explaining how his experience on the celebrity mystery singing show helped him to be more childlike. As Polar Bear, Grandmaster Flash sang "Rapture" by Blondie on New York Night. The panel immediately knew that they in the presence of hip-hop royalty. They guessed LL Cool J (Robin Thicke), Flavor Flav (Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg), and P. Diddy (Ken Jeong), but only Nicole was able to identify Grandmaster Flash correctly. When he was unmasked, he performed "Good Times" by Chic. He competed against California Roll, who moved on to the quarterfinals, as well as Medusa, who was saved by the panel's Ding Dong Keep It On Bell.

In an interview with EW, The Masked Singer season 9 contestant Grandmaster Flash revealed that performing as Polar Bear reminded him of the wonders of being a child.
