The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim ends with a climactic battle and a new dawn for Rohan, including multiple ties to Peter Jackson's movies that are worth mentioning. While not the first animated Lord of the Rings movie, War of the Rohirrim is the first to embrace anime style, directed by Kenji Kamiyama. On the Lord of the Rings timeline, the film's events take place nearly 300 years before the War of the Ring, and they set up the landscape of Rohan audiences know from The Two Towers.

After a long winter and siege cornered at the Hornburg, Helm Hammerhand makes a final stand, defending the keep and his people with his bare fists, killing Wulf's men as he eventually freezes to death. Despite matters growing dire, the Rohirrim, under Héra's leadership, eventually withstand Wulf's army of Dunlendings.
