There were a few things that The Monkey’s ending didn’t reveal: where did the toy come from? What did the supernatural clockwork monkey want? And why did it kill random people every time it was wound up? Apparently, there’s no answer to these questions, neither in the movie nor in the Stephen King short story on which the film is based. However, if you ask me what the monkey represented, then yes, I might have an answer to that one.
