When the absurdly titled Psycho Therapy: The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write About a Serial Killer was filmed in June 2023, director Tolga Karaçelik, working in English for the first time, had a major stroke of luck: two of its stars, Britt Lower and John Magaro, would become incredibly successful.

Between their roles in Severance and Past Lives, respectively, the two actors went from emerging talent to stars of some of the most talked about movies and TV shows of the last few years. We at FandomWire were able to speak to Karaçelik on the ridiculousness of making a dark comedy, what it was like to work with the cast, and how moviemaking is an inherently selfish medium.
