Rainn Wilson is voicing his opinion on the current state of political media.

During a conversation with MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle on his Soul Boom podcast last Thursday, the pair discussed the differences in the way the media covers Donald Trump’s presidency versus Joe Biden’s time in the Oval Office.

Ruhle argued there’s a current “concerted effort to destroy the media” that stemmed from a lot of people “tuning out” the news following Trump’s second win and “the Elon Musk media machine.” Continuing, she said, “what we need to do is just cover what’s happening in America.”

Wilson did not agree. “This is where I would push back when I see this kind of insight and passion being directed at the current administration, and the lack of this insight and passion being directed at the previous administration,” he said.
