Ella is in serious need of a job in order to manage the life of her 3 children on her own. She accepts a job in a hospital as a nurse doing night shift. Her new boss is an old "friend", Nora who still holds a grudge against her, they share the same history with the same man. Elle is determined to keep her job, Nora swears she is out of the door in a second. Personal feelings, revenge and the persistent urge to help saving lives. The heart of Ella or the brain of Nora. A 9 years old girl falls down the stairs, a bit too often, Nora and Ella suspect the parents are to blame. Dr Kühnert smuggles in a famous patient and trying to keep it quiet. Ella discovers Nora has a son.

Karim protects a girl and ends up in a hospital bed himself. The attacker is back with a lawyer, ready to take revenge. Only the girl's testimony can save Karim but is she brave enough?
