Warhammer Fans Brand Thrilling New Trailer ‘Pacific Rim 3’
Image
Games Workshop just dropped a bombshell that’s got the Warhammer community seeing double. The latest animation trailer for “Kill Lupercal” features colossal war machines duking it out amid apocalyptic destruction—and fans can’t help but notice it looks suspiciously like the Pacific Rim sequel they’ve been begging for.

Set during the Siege of Terra, this new Warhammer 40K animation follows a Warlord Titan crew on what might be their final mission: a desperate attempt to end the Horus Heresy with one decisive strike against the Warmaster himself.

When titans clash: Jaegers in disguise?

The parallels between Warhammer 40K‘s Titans and Guillermo del Toro‘s Jaegers aren’t just fan imagination running wild.

Both feature massive humanoid war machines piloted by neural-linked crews, battling for humanity’s survival against overwhelming odds. The trailer’s apocalyptic scale and grim determination mirror Pacific Rim‘s tone so perfectly that...

George R.R. Martin’s Favorite Book Series Already Has an Acclaimed 5-Season Netflix Adaptation
Image
George R.R. Martin is widely recognized for his A Song of Ice and Fire series, the books on which the famed Game of Thrones show was based. As a writer, he also explores the works of his fellow scribes. We already know he loves J.R.R. Tolkien, Gene Wolfe, and Jack Vance, but there’s another one that most fans probably did not know.

When he’s not writing The Winds of Winter, attending events, or meeting with producers, he’s reading Bernard Cornwell’s The Saxon Stories, commonly known as The Last Kingdom series. It has a Netflix adaptation that ran for five seasons, with each installment heavily lauded by fans.

'The Mandalorian' Star Katee Sackhoff Comments on 'Star Wars' Fandom
Image
There's no denying that the Star Wars fandom can be a cantankerous bunch sometimes, but mostly, it's been an important part of pop culture since George Lucas launched his seminal 1977 film that helped change the landscape of science fiction cinema. Despite its divisive nature at times, however, there is one person who sees nothing but the good in all of it: The Mandalorian's Katee Sackhoff.

Speaking with MovieWeb's own George Edelman to discuss her new action comedy with Josh Hartnett, Fight or Flight, the subject of Star Wars inevitably came up. Sackhoff was no stranger to sci-fi before then thanks to her time on Battlestar Galactica as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, but she became known to fans as Bo-Katan Kryze in the animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels, and for portraying the live-action version of the character in The Mandalorian. For Sackhoff, she had nothing but good things to say about the Star Wars fandom,...

Warlord Movie Ending Explained & Full Story: Was the Elven Fellowship Able to Save Lloris?
Image
Low-budget indie medieval fantasy movies have lately surprised me; movies like A Knight’s War and The Last Redemption have set an example that if the creative vision, narrative, and characterization show mettle, drawbacks in superficial, larger-than-life elements can easily be ignored. I had hoped to see a similar example being set by Stuart Brennan’s Warlord, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment in that regard. I don’t mind PS2 game cutscene graphics being used to highlight the scope of the larger world, but the gaps in the narrative are too frequent to provide a comprehensive understanding. Aside from a couple of well-built set pieces and Billy Boyd of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy fame playing a key role in the movie, there isn’t much that Warlord can offer fantasy movie fans.

There's a reason you don't remember the Star Trek: Voyager episode 'The Art of War'
Image
It very, very rarely happened during the Rick Berman era of Star Trek, which encompassed The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise, as well as the four Next Generation features, that an episode title was provided to the media and then changed. Many episodes changed titles from draft to draft, of course, or even had working titles on the cover of the shooting script, but the publicity department normally sent journalists air schedules and episode synopses that included a final title.

Such was not the case in the fall of 1996 when the season 3 Voyager episode fans know as “Warlord” was titled “The Art of War.” After sending information about “The Art of War,” Upn informed the media that the new title was “Warlord.”

It’s an obscure bit of Star Trek trivia, but fans love such things. In the episode, a powerful Ilari Autarch named Tieran (Leigh J. McCloskey) transfers his mind,...
