I am not going to tell you who did it, that is inconsequential and there is simply no way anyone would figure it out until the end, which brings me to my main point: generally speaking there are 2 types of who done it stories - ones that you can figure out if you pay really close attention and ones that you have 0 chance to figure out, like this one...
Now, my biggest and the only problem with this - IT NEEDED massive editing. Not during the filming but the actual script. Pretty much everything there is broken down in so much detail that basically 1/2 of it is either useless or misdirection (and is just uninteresting). Any and all subplots, like moving the gingerbread house that chef spent 6 months working on - what was the point of those 10 minutes?
This series is 8 episodes, but it should be maybe 3, which is much better edited and written. Yes, there would have been 5 less director chances, people would be less paid for acting and everything else, sure, but we could have gotten a much better TV.
This is good and the bad with TV these days. The good is when creator/writer/director has 1 good story to tell then he or she has full control and is able to put their vision on video accurately, vs the same but the story is bloated, and there are no one there to make them edit and cut most of the useless subplots out.
To me, this bloat is the difference between maybe and 8 or a 9 and what I gave it, a 5.

Terrible store. Nothing coherent, nothing interesting, missing so many details, so many layers
Terrible acting, terrible action, all are tacky. Each character has nothing interesting about them
Just overall terrible.... this crap could have passed as anything... some kinda mix or mission impossible, just bad dialogue, bad acting, bad story.
Overall, I am not happy. This crap better not become a full fledged tv series. This is.akin to them breaking down star wars into larger franchise, except this is probably worst than anything star wars have done, and disney sure have had some crappy things recently
jeeeeeeees, 2/10 is 2 more than I could give...

I don't think anyone who liked this should expect anything different. Poor but very smart girl vs rich boy. That's the main precise and we have seen dozens if not hundreds of iterations of this in the past, and this one is not really one of the better ones.
IMO, this has few problems: subtitles and dubbing is often different and sometimes dubbing is better and other times subtitles are better, so it creates a problem where you are forced to think about that vs enjoying the story.
Story itself is simple, there is no new hook, just a poor but smart story gets scholarship into prestigious prep academy, where she meets mostly entitled rich kids.
The bad guys are the parents of the rich, because they just perpetuate the myth that if you don't marry someone just as a rich and entitled, then somehow you will be disappointing everyone.
So, yes, if you want to see beautiful young people with very repeatable story, then you will like this. If you're a teenager, then you'll like this. But, if you're an adult, with a thinking mind, who expects a bit of depth, character development, and some sort of resolution, or even an attempt at one, then season 1 does not check any of those boxes. At least not for me.
