First of all the positives - the acting was incredible. Every cast member executed the role to almost perfection. They were full of pain and trauma and a deep search for meaning and identity and you could feel it. The soundtrack and sound editing were incredible. The cinematography was spot on - element after element from lens colors, angles, scene shifting it was an absolute masterpiece. There were scenes and moments and arcs that were powerful and moving and to the point.
Themes of Zionism and immigration and racism and the American dream and shame and trauma were shown powerfully over and over and over.
HOWEVER- it was pretentious and way too long. There was not a single character to root for, which from an enjoyment and entertainment point of view( at least for me personally ) was a big loss. It was nonsense through the entire middle hour. It dragged on forever.
This could have been an amazing film, parts were, but in the, overall, it falls short.

I am a true TV lover and have watched a lot of TV in my life - this cracks my top five easily.
I LOVED Rogue One and this was somehow even better- it fit exactly right and added a whole new element to an already great story.
The production value of this series was off the charts - absolutely insane. It was well made and felt like effort went into every single scene, the writing was superb and the acting was incredible. The casting directors killed it start to finish.
The Gohrmen storyline was out of this world with the very obvious parallels to Nazi Germany and the Conlang( constructed language ) even fit this same vibe - down to every single detail the show was well made.
Character development was some of the best I have seen.
Some of the best scenes included: prison escape, Ghormon protest, wedding party( flash to other locations ) ending scene, it goes on and and on and on.
I am watching Rogue one and going back for round two on this tomorrow- absolute masterpiece.

I thought this was very very powerful and exceptionally well done. The character development was incredible, especially considering the backstory for each person was virtually nonexistent. You immediately loved Geoff and Maryanne. They were good people trying hard to do what was right and questions the ethical implications as much as possible and as it ended, the jury was still out for both of them.
The story itself is an important and poignant piece of history, this gave it a very unique lens ( pun intended ) and a chance to explore the ethics of reporting and journalism as a whole.
I think the highlight of this film for me was the feeling of tension you could sense even many years later about the respiring and television side of this. The crisis itself is reason enough to feel pressure and sadness and grief and stress, what this film added was the very real element of quick decision making, pressure on truth and money, and a debate on ethics and deadlines.
Worthwhile and well done - a little confusing in parts remembering who is who based on name and which job they have etc but really quality overall.
