A sobering film that will leave you with a better understanding of the anguish, treachery, and atrocities the Germans and Russians laid on the Polish people during their invasion/occupation of Poland in WWII. The Katyn Forest events are portrayed in gruesome detail. The film flows well and the acting is excellent in depicting the events as they are brought forth and the truth unfolds. Families are torn apart as some form new allegiances in an attempt to survive the ruthlessness of the occupation while others refuse and suffer consequences at the hands of the SSS and KGB. The film is very much a tribute to the will of the Polish people during this horrible period in their history. It is sobering, indeed!
