If any of my intimidating, artsy friends asks my opinion of Maestro, I will lie through my non prosthetic nose and tell them how much I enjoyed it. However, since we're anonymous here, I will tell the truth, which was, it wasn't very good and I was bored. Great sets and performances without a solid plot line just don't work for me. I'm sure there are going to be awards galore but unless you like great acting, costumes and makeup, it's not worth your while. I really wanted to like this but I knew after the first 20 minutes, it was going to be dreadful. Could have been so much better if there was something we could have sank our teeth into,

For someone with a short attention span, I'm surprised that I hung in there. Was it boring? At times, yes but this film takes you in directions you didn't think you'd go. This one kind of creeps under your skin and stays there. It's a keeper.

Don't see this if you don't want to be entertained or experience cringe worthy moments but especially don't see this if you don't want to see a true breakout star in the hysterical and lovely, Maria Bakalova who reminds me of a young Tracy Ullman. She is amazing.
