One of my favorite documentaries of all times. I have watched a few and I am eager to watch the rest of the episodes on Amazon Prime.

I come from a Hindu background which has a rich history and tradition including several mythological epics, the most important ones being Ramayana and Mahabharata, which also lay the very foundation of the pantheon of gods and goddesses worshipped in the Hindu religion. As an example, the vimana flying vehicle is mentioned in one of the epics and was used by a powerful demon to kidnap a gorgeous married woman from her simple hermitage in the forest.. This vehicle was run via mind control by the person flying it. While people may dismiss it as simply a fantasy,, there are several other things such as missiles decribed in the epics, some capable of destroying the entire universe. Keep in mind that the concept of the universe was known in the past to the ancients, while just as recently as a few hundred years ago, some people believed that the earth was the center of the creation.

The Ancient Aliens episodes cover the vimana flying vehicle and explain how the mysticism and ancient writings of the past may have motivated curious Europeans to decipher ancient manuscripts (much like the time capsules buried somewhere around the world) and to help create high tech products we see today, such as the commercial airplanes, cars, computers, powerful weapons, to name a few.

It is my belief that mankind goes through cyclical periods of greatness and destruction over eons, only to start it all again. Ancient Aliens aims to uncover the clues from the past and to add the missing pieces to the puzzle to get a better view of the big picture.

The entire movie takes place in a room as coworkers give a farewell party to a retiring professor. He goes about to reveal his mysterious past and a somewhat tense discussion follows his proclamation of being something that his coworkers would never have imagined over a decade of working with him. He also goes on to explain why he quits his job every 10 years and relocates to a distant place. He presents artefacts and his friends wonder how he got in possession of the rare objects which are worthy of a museum. The discussion becomes more heated with the threat of using a firearm, but fortunately no one gets injured. Towards the end of the movie, he reveals the reason for the discussion and his friends are left wondering if it was a just a debate or if he was actually saying the truth. The execution of the movie is simple but at the same time the ideas in the movie are complex and thought provoking. 'This will stay with you for a long time.'
