Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston has signed on to join James Franco in the upcoming 20th Century Fox comedy Why Him? We first reported on the project back in February, when James Franco signed on to star for producers Shawn Levy and Ben Stiller. Production is scheduled to begin this coming February in Los Angeles.

The story centers on a father (Bryan Cranston) from the Midwest who decides to travel with his family to visit their daughter at college over the holiday season. The dad gets quite a surprise when he meets her new tech billionaire boyfriend (James Franco). A bitter rivalry ensues between the father and his daughter's boyfriend that quickly spirals out of control.
