Perhaps no cult classic from the 2000s is more controversial, violent, and darkly funny than American Psycho. Based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, the movie follows a Wall Street tycoon named Patrick Bateman who slowly succumbs to his psychopathic nature. Bateman is meticulous and careful in his everyday life, doing hundreds of sit-ups a day, wearing skin-smoothing face masks, and caring extremely deeply about the quality of his business cards. However, behind his perfect facade, he has a disposition for sadistic sex and violent murders.
