Stranger Things Season 5 Sets Volume 1, 2 And Finale Release Dates As Netflix Reveals Teaser Trailer

We've known that it's coming for some time now, but truth be told, we're still struggling with the idea of saying goodbye to Stranger Things after nine years of Hawkins hijinks and Upside Down shenanigans from those Duffer Brothers. And so too, it seems, is Netflix. Having already spread their flagship sci-fi series' fourth season across two volumes (with a monster 139 minute finale), the streamer used tonight's Tudum event — featuring appearances from stars Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, and Caleb McLaughlin — to reveal that Stranger Things' fifth and final season will be releasing in three parts. A four-episode Volume 1 is due to drop on 26 November; Volume 2, comprising three episodes, is coming on Christmas Day; and the finale is set to air on New Year's Eve. Check out the announcement trailer below;
Now, for the most part this teaser for Stranger Things Season 5 is pretty much a hype reel comprising clips from...

Knives Out 3 or, by its real name, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, is likely going to be fantastic. We can assume this because the first two parts of the new film franchise have been terrific. How can it not be with talent such as Daniel Craig and director Rian Johnson involved?
What the plotline of the third installment is, we barely know. We know it will be a murder mystery, and to be honest, that is good enough. We also know the character will be well-written and dynamic. We also know most of the cast, which you can see below.
The name of the movie comes from a 1997 U2 song off of the album Pop. This follows the trend of the prior two movies. The first film in the trilogy was simply called Knives Out, after a Radiohead tune. The second, Glass Onion, was inspired by a Beatles tune.

Elden Ring Nightreign doesn't officially have two-player co-op, but now there's an unofficial mod for it. The newest Soulslike by FromSoftware breaks away from the previous titles by introducing a multiplayer element. The game takes place in the Elden Ring region of Limgrave, but instead of a grueling solo adventure, the game is meant to one or three players to take on.
The decision not to include a two-player option in Nightreign has been a divisive one among fans, since it limits the way friends can enjoy the game together. The new Seamless Co-op mod by Nexus Mods user Yui addresses this issue by adding a fan-made two-player cooperative mode to the new title.

Are you ready for a lot of new Netflix news? We generally get that throughout the year, of course, but nothing is quite like the deluge of information we will receive during the annual Netflix Tudum Live event. Thankfully, that event is happening on Saturday, May 31.
The time of the event is, well...based on where you live. The show is held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California. If you are going to the show, it begins at 5 pm Pt. If you live in New York, the start time is 8 pm Et.
The event will be hosted by actress and singer Sofia Carson. Ahead of the show, Netflix showed a snippet of her announcing five things to expect at Tudum. One of those is that she is going to host, but we already knew that.

Ed O’Neill famously admitted on Ellen that he did not recognize Taylor Swift at a party thrown for Sarah Hyland’s birthday. However, fans would have missed a big cameo on the show themselves, given how influential one particular actor was who appeared in the final season of Modern Family.
Ed Asner had a small cameo in the episode Dead on Arrival, which was filled with the usual comedic beats of the show. However, what makes this cameo such a big deal is the fact that Asner was actually a part of one of the most fondly remembered films in the Pixar canon.

The roster covers hundreds of broadcast, cable and streaming programs debuting throughout 2025, including many still listed as Tba (to be announced). It includes series premieres and season debuts, shows returning from hiatus and some one-offs such as live sports and awards shows but not movies or specials.
Note that older premiere dates are listed at the bottom and that not all PBS outlets premiere their shows on the same day.
As always, we update this post daily as more dates are revealed, so check back often for the latest. We’re glad you tuned in. Additions or adjustments can be sent to editors@deadline.com.

By all accounts, Lorne Michaels is a challenging boss. People who have worked for him have said he can be imperious, dismissive and careless with employees’ feelings and self-worth. Even Seth Meyers — who, between Saturday Night Live and Late Night, has worked for Michaels nearly half his life and is clearly grateful for the opportunities Michaels has given him — has no compunction about describing how strange it can be to interact with someone who’s run his own TV fiefdom for decades.
At the Atx TV Festival’s opening night marquee panel on May 29th, Meyers remembered the phone call in which Michaels told him he’d be the next host of Late Night, saying Michaels’ way of giving information is “like a follow-up call to a conversation you never had,” sliding into an impression of Michaels vaguely saying he thought Meyers would be good, in time. Meyers didn’t hang up and say,...

The massive cast announcement for Avengers: Doomsday involved plenty of chairs. And those chairs had names of actors from MCU films such as Captain America: Brave New World, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Thunderbolts*, and even Fantastic Four: First Steps emblazoned on them. The large number of characters involved hasn't stopped the Marvel fanbase from speculating about anyone else who could still be included in the massive event film, as there are plenty of other popular characters who didn't get a chair of their own in the reveal video. One actor's social media post has fueled speculation that they'll be a part of the production.
This time around, it's Sophia Di Martino from the Disney+ series Loki who's believed to be playing a part in Avengers: Doomsday. The actor plays Sylvie, a multiversal, female variant of Loki in the two seasons of the series, as she works against (and eventually with...

John Mulaney closed out the season finale of Everybody’s Live by getting beaten up by three 14-year-old boys.
However, the comedian also brought out Bone Thugs-n-Harmony after revealing last month that he nearly got scammed when he initially tried to book them.
The season finale of the show was teen night. “Teens rule, they are the only people who have no money that I want approval from,” he joked.
He had been “hyping” this fight all month, a “fight to the death, reputationally speaking”. “The response has been overwhelming,” he said, before doing a fake buffering joke.
Elsewhere on the show, Mulaney was joined by Adam Sandler, who discussed being kicked out of multiple bands in his youth, Joe Mande, who discussed his teen diarrhea, and Sean Penn, who walked out on stage smoking a cigarette before telling a story about throwing a Molotov cocktail at a rival surfer’s van.

Sofia Carson has been quietly taking over our screens (and playlists) for a while now and honestly, we’re not mad about it. From her Disney days as Evie in Descendants to pulling at our heartstrings in Purple Hearts, she’s proven she’s not just a pretty face. Sofia’s got serious range, a killer voice, and a natural ability to make everything she touches feel effortlessly stylish. Oh, and did we mention she’s a Unicef ambassador and has a degree from UCLA? Total powerhouse.
She’s also one of those celebrities who always seems so put together. You’ll see her at award shows in stunning gowns, giving interviews with grace, and speaking up for causes she believes in. But even though she is always in the public eye, there’s one part of her life that remains super low-key, her love life.

Whenever you turn around, someone is trying to recreate the tried-and-true television formula of putting a group of twentysomethings in a house and following their personal and romantic lives as they try to get real and finally grow up.
We’ve seen it play out in numerous comedy series over the years, and the new FX series Adults hopes to join that ever-growing list of series that stand out among the many.
But does it succeed? Oh yes, it does.
(Pari Dukovic/FX)
Adults, previously titled Snowflakes, follows five friends who live and exist in New York City while trying to navigate that pesky little thing called adulthood.
The five friends are Samir, Billie, Issa, Anton, and Paul Baker (whom you must refer to by his full name because those are the rules!). And they all live together in Samir’s childhood home.

Carol Actor Almost Became Friends’ Rachel Green(Photo Credit –Instagram/Facebook)
Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green? Feels like destiny. But for a brief moment in the Friends universe, it almost wasn’t. Before Friends became a cultural juggernaut and before Aniston’s hairstyle alone launched a thousand salon visits, another familiar face nearly landed the role.
Carol Was Almost Rachel?
Yep, Jane Sibbett, who eventually played Carol (Ross’s ex-wife), once auditioned for Rachel Green. In an interview with Sunrise, she clarified the long-running rumor that her pregnancy had cost her the role. When asked if she was originally picked to play Rachel, Sibbett replied, “Almost. It’s a bit of an embellishment.”
She recalled how things played out: “I had left the room from auditioning for Rachel, and I got the phone call from my manager saying ‘They love you, they want you […] You gotta’ come back next week.

New Harry Potter HBO Series Golden Trio(Photo Credit –Instagram)
HBO has finally picked its new Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. The streaming giant is gearing up for a fresh take on the Wizarding World and aims to bring Jk Rowling’s books to life in a way that sticks closer to the page.
However, the series, unlike the previous blockbuster films, plans to take its time with the story, with each book stretched across a full season.
Newcomers Step Into Iconic Harry Potter Roles
According to Screenrant, Dominic McLaughlin will step into the shoes of Harry Potter. His acting resume is short, with only one project, an upcoming comedy film (Grow), to his name. Arabella Stanton, chosen to play Hermione, already has experience performing live, having played Matilda in the West End musical. Alastair Stout, now cast as Ron Weasley, appears to be completely new to the screen.

Netflix has developed a trend of leaving out certain benchmark movies in the recent past. One such film is Vince Vaughn’s The Break-Up.
As the streaming giant has put the 55-year-old actor’s Nonnas in its Top 10 list, the absence of his The Break-Up on Netflix is noticeable more ever than before. While the Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston starrer 2006 rom-com might not have been a critical hit, it won over the audience.
Directed by Peyton Reed, The Break-Up, the rom-com grossed over $205 million at the box office. However, the film not only cemented Vaughn’s position as a bankable star but also helped in his emotional development.
The Break-Up explores the equation between two people who don’t know how to navigate a relationship
Vince Vaughn once said that though he was offered several rom-coms, he didn’t find them appealing, as most of them followed a similar formula.

Disney and Pixar have released a new trailer for Elio, to coincide with tickets going on sale for the studios' latest animated adventure. Following a record-breaking opening weekend for Lilo & Stitch, the next big film on Disney's radar is another sci-fi family buddy comedy, Elio. Over Memorial Day weekend, the news broke that Mark Ruffalo will reportedly reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The wall-crawler's MCU movies always pair Spidey up with an Avenger, and this is an incredible pick.
For starters, they've never crossed paths on screen before, despite having a pretty amazing history on the page. The character lends himself well to a story where Spider-Man explores his duality
We still have no real idea what this movie will look like, but it's safe to assume these two will fight and team up. Peter Parker has never been overly close with Bruce, but chances are the doctor will become his latest big screen mentor. Beyond that, how else might he factor into what we see next summer?

When Love Island USA Season 7 premieres in a few days, it will come after the biggest season in the show’s history.
Love Island USA Season 6 was a hit in a way no one saw coming. It became an overnight success via word of mouth and heavy play on social media like TikTok.
The season was so popular that Peacock has now commissioned a spinoff, which is currently being filmed and will follow cast members from the sixth season around Los Angeles one year after their series premiered.

James Gunn's new iteration of Superman starring David Corenswet is set to hit theaters this summer, introducing audiences to a brand-new DC Universe centered around the Man of Steel. Of course, the last we saw of the superhero icon on the big screen was Henry Cavill's iteration in Zack Snyder's divisive trilogy of Dceu films, though the actor only got a single movie dedicated solely to his version of the character. 2013's Man of Steel would become overshadowed by Batman v Superman and eventually Justice League, with no direct sequel to the film in sight. As it turns out, one filmmaker came very close to bringing a sequel to life.
When talking to Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning director Christopher McQuarrie briefly discussed his work on a treatment for Man of Steel 2. When pressed for story details, McQuarrie teased...

Sinners North America Box Office: Surpasses Will Smith’s I Am Legend(Photo Credit –YouTube/Prime Video)
Sinners’ success is a topic of much talk in the world of cinema. The film surpassed several spine-chilling horrors to make a place at the all-time highest-grossing horror films list in North America. It has also surpassed Will Smith starrer I Am Legend as one of the top 30 highest-grossing films of Warner Bros Pictures at the North American Box Office.
Smith’s film I Am Legend was released in 2007 and is a post-apocalyptic action thriller. It stars Smith as US Army virologist Robert Neville, and the story is loosely based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson.

We are all excited for David Corenswet’s Superman, but that doesn’t mean we have forgiven Warner Bros. for firing Henry Cavill. Cavill sadly got only one solo movie in the earlier Dceu, despite kickstarting the universe with his film. A sequel to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel was planned after the exit of Snyder from the universe. Christopher McQuarrie of Mission: Impossible fame had pitched Man of Steel 2 to Warner Bros.
McQuarrie recently appeared in an interview, where he revealed details about the film he had planned for Cavill’s second solo appearance. He shared that he modeled the film after Pixar’s Up, with the first five minutes having no dialogue at all. While Morty is dragged into endless wars, Summer transforms into a tech prodigy, both living entire lifetimes inside Rick’s twisted lesson.

Henry Cavill Helped Christopher McQuarrie Solve the Green Lantern Puzzle for Canceled Man of Steel 2

“You got the touch… You got the power… Yeah!” Stan Bush’s 1986 cult classic from The Transformers blared in our head when we first heard about what could have been: Christopher McQuarrie, Henry Cavill, Superman, and yes, Green Lantern. We mean, come on. That’s like Zeus offering you a thunderbolt and then deciding, “Nah, maybe not.”
So, we’re talking about a sequel that had spine, soul, and a soaring sense of direction until the studio pulled the brakes like a bat out of bureaucratic hell. Imagine McQuarrie teaming up again with Cavill. They didn’t just want to make a Man of Steel 2, they wanted to make a whole damn event. But now? It’s all whispers and what-ifs.

Had Henry Cavill's Superman sequel ever happened, the Dceu would have explored the Man of Steel's fears, according to Mission: Impossible director Christopher McQuarrie. One of the most famous aspects of the Dceu movie timeline was the many DC movies that were put in development by DC Films - the original division before the launch of DC Studios with James Gunn and Peter Safran - only for many of them to never come to fruition. When it came to Cavill's version of Superman, there had been various plans for what to do with his take on the Man of Steel.
On the latest episode of Happy, Sad, Confused, McQuarrie was asked about the ideas he had for a Superman film with Cavill, after having worked with the British star on Mission: Impossible – Fallout. According to McQuarrie, Cavill's Superman sequel would have explored deeper sides of the DC icon,...

There was never a reality in which The Last of Us Season 2 wouldn’t be one of the most divisive series of the year.
If we look at the reaction to The Last of Us: Part II, it was inevitable that viewers would be split about the series’ trajectory.
The show is known for taking risks, and it upped the ante considerably, including introducing Abby, only for her to brutally murder Joel to avenge her father.
(Liane Hentscher/HBO)
It was one of the most memorable TV scenes in recent memory for its brutality and impact on the show and its characters.
But despite a strong opening for Kaitlyn Dever’s excellent character, she effectively disappeared for the rest of the season.

Their specials may wade into bleaker territory but the six top comics gathered for THR’s Stand-Up Emmy Roundtable spent most of their time together in stitches.
Over the course of an hour, Jamie Foxx, Chelsea Handler, Seth Meyers, Hasan Minhaj, Sarah Silverman and Roy Wood Jr. regaled each other with intimate and often hilarious tales of bombing on the world’s biggest stages, finding comedy in their darkest moments and, in the case of Minhaj, losing his dream job at Comedy Central.
While discussing the latter, Wood, who had been at The Daily Show, where he, too, had been in contention for the host gig, revealed what it was like to still be at the show when Minhaj’s offer was rescinded. “Nobody would give any details and we were all trying to figure out, ‘Well, if it’s not going to be Hasan, who’s it going to be?...

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered made us all come back to some of our favorite childhood experiences. But it also made us come back to one of Bethesda Game Studios’ best quests ever. If you don’t know yet, we’re talking about the Dark Brotherhood questline. It’s one of the best ever, but should you join the Brotherhood?
Most Oblivion Remastered players cast themselves as noble heroes, so the idea of joining a death cult of assassins like the Dark Brotherhood might seem like a hard no. After all, it starts with murdering an innocent person; how does it make sense? Despite that, it’s one of the best questlines in RPG history. Here’s why its pros far outweigh the cons.
The pros of joining the Dark Brotherhood in the Oblivion Remaster
The Dark Brotherhood questline is still one of the best we’ve seen from Bethesda across all their RPGs.

It may be the last day of the Cannes Film Festival’s Official Selection lineup, but there’s still plenty of action at the Palais. It will be followed later tonight by the Midnight showing of Ethan Coen’s Honey Don’t!

Also in the cast are John Magaro, Hope Davis, Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann, Amanda Plummer, Eli Gelb, Cole Doman, Javion Allen, Matthew Maher and Rhenzy Feliz.

Before turning their attention to ripped-from-reality social justice stories, Belgian brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne got their start making short documentaries set in working-class housing projects. They brought that same immersive, observational approach with them to their fiction features, reflected in the long-take handheld camerawork, gritty street-level locations and casting of nonprofessional actors that have become their signature. And yet, it’s doubtful that anyone would have mistaken a Dardenne film for a documentary … until now.
“Young Mothers” is the duo’s most convincing film yet, owing largely to the way they have widened the focus from one or two characters in crisis — the sort of urgency that drove everything from “Rosetta” to “Tori and Lokita” — to a loose choral form. Instead of presenting a single, nail-biting dramatic situation, the Dardennes’ no-less-engaging ensemble drama dedicates quality time to a quartet of young women — girls, really — under the care of a maternal assistance home in Liège.

Kendrick Lamar once again demonstrated why he raps “Eff the big three, it’s just me” during the first of his three sold out L.A. show dates on the Grand National Tour on Wednesday evening. The Compton rapper didn’t bring out any hometown heroes for his SoFi Stadium showing, commanding the stage all by himself, except for a small group of backup dancers and select duets with his co-headliner Sza.
Kendrick began his set with “wacced out murals,” emerging from his signature black 1987 Buick Gnx atop the stage as he rapped the lyrics from the first song off of his latest album named after the car. Marlon Brando & Jack Nicholson Smiling Together (Photo Credit – Wikipedia)
Marlon Brando, by the early 70s, was back in the spotlight. After years of erratic behavior and fading relevance, he clawed his way back with a powerhouse performance as Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather and followed it up with the bold and divisive Last Tango in Paris.
Hollywood, the never-forgiving movie industry, which had once rolled its eyes at his antics, now praised him again as the gold standard.
