There’s typical harem anime with useless protagonists and then there’s The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Love You with Rentaro Aijo at its center. Many people detest the harem genre due to how ridiculous things can get. However, although The 100 Girlfriends is absurd too, it is way more thoughtful than other harem anime overall.
The anime mocks the genre while honoring its spirit. The main character has numerous partners and is on the path to taking the number to a hundred. What makes The 100 Girlfriends more enjoyable compared to other harem series is that the protagonist is actually likable!
