I liked the story line and of course the scenery was gorgeous. He has great charm and was amusing, but their chemistry was not really there and the scenes with the crass humor and mild profanity were unexpected and off putting for me. I had higher expectations for this than it delivered. It was just ok, seen worse and also much better.

On the upside, the music and scenery were wonderful! However, the movie was very slow and had very little romance. The ending seemed really rushed. Also, I was very surprised that given Kathie Lee Gifford is a Christian and the writer of this movie, that there was sexually innuendo, drunkenness, casual sex and the use of the "F" word. Hopefully, if Ms. Gifford writes another screenplay it will incorporate biblical values and principles.

Saw the movie trailer and thought it looked really good and funny but it was.. well.. okay. Dragged a bit at times. Also, did Kathy Lee Gifford's values change? I thought she was a Christian but she wrote the screenplay for this movie which contained sexual jokes, drinking including drunkeness, premarital sex and profanity of which Gifford used the f word among other profanities. Could have been a good wholesome movie but she decided to trash it. Really disappointing.

Craig Ferguson was great. Scotland was magnificent. The story was OK, but the writing, not so good. Most of the cast were good especially Ford Kiernan, Phyllida Law and Elizabeth Hurley, but Kathie Lee Gifford was not! She wrote the screenplay. However she was miscast in the role. I'm guessing she chose herself. She looked too old for the part and in my opinion she isn't a good actress. I had hopes for this film but I think it was, as someone said, a vanity project for Kathie Lee Gifford.
I'm not familiar with her work hosting a popular talk show so I had no preconceptions about her. However I am familiar with Craig Fergusons work, and with the rest of the cast, especially Ford Kiernan and, because of my good opinion of them I had high hopes for this film.
I am from Scotland and perhaps, because I am so disappointed, I have lost some of my objectivity over this.

The movie's script is terrible, and it's only saved when it seems like Craig Ferguson improvises some lines, forcing Kathie Lee Gifford to respond authentically. Those are the best moments. It's great to see an older romance like this, but it needed better scripts or let me be entirely improv. There aren't enough side characters to make us care or connect with the lead characters. And they have Elizabeth Hurley for a full five minutes and include her in the corner. Wow. It's almost like they didn't want this to succeed. Just give Craig free reign to do whatever dialogue with plot guidance, and he'll make it brilliant.
